These little things could one day make it major. You are doing a good job doing what you believe could do something good in the crypto world. Keep doing it and have faith. You can not help the whole world, but if you can help only one person, then that could work like a chain effect. So I have no issue on what you are doing. If it makes you feel great, then who am I to say anything? Keep up the good work mate!

It's pretty cute and I really like the design Cheesy
Even though in this case, the impact will actually not be big but I think with a small action in paying attention to the needs in saving as well (Piggy Bank) I think it can really be used as a good thing in this case. At least for some people who don't know and are given that they can become more aware that bitcoin does exist who knows later they can find out more about this.
You are doing very well friend I like the action you are doing in this case.

You just make me curious, where I can buy it?, and what material do you use for that?, Aluminum cans or cardboard?
Well, I ordered it on the internet and asked the seller to customize as I wished: with the black background colour, orange top and bottom, with Bitcoin logo and writing I provided him. It's made of heavy cardboard, while superior and inferior parts are made of plastic. These piggy banks are usually distributed as souvenirs on birthday parties with the sayings and themes of the respective events.

Where did this idea come from?
Did you buy it or did you make it yourself?
I was looking for physical goods which I could use to promote Bitcoin somehow to people around me. I thought about pens, keychains, mugs, shirts, headpieces, stickers... But when I saw those piggy banks I was sure they were an interesting choice, because they are totally related to finances and savings, therefore there could be an educative purpose behind them.

But I'm still thinking about another ideas to continue promoting Bitcoin. People love receiving giveaways, and this can be their front door to Bitcoin on their lives.

I appreciate your perspective on the limited impact of Bitcoin on people's savings and your recognition of the cleverness in introducing and promoting it in the local market. Creating visibility for Bitcoin through logos and public exposure can indeed help raise awareness about alternative currencies.

Thank you for your kind wishes, and I wish you all the best in your own endeavors as well!

In order to promote and introduce Bitcoin to new potential adopters, I've decided to make a little investment in something physical, pretty and useful that could inspire people trying to invest in Bitcoin. The proposal is simple: many still deal with paper money everyday, and from daily negotiations there is always a coins change left, which can be put inside a piggy bank.

So I offer them small Bitcoin piggy banks where they can deposit their coins. Once they accumulate some dollars, they can acquire their first sum of satoshis, finally starting their investments for real. It's also an interesting concept for children to save their daily changes and invest in BTC later, thinking on their future.
No... disrespect to you but I don't see this having any meaningful impact on the onboarding of newcomers and mass adoption of bitcoin. I have seen instances where people try to save money in piggy banks, so they come up with a saving plan but lack the discipline to see it happen. Few months into the savings they break open the bank, take the savings and use it for whatever purpose they want to use it for. The chances of people seeing this through to the end and finally using the saving proceeds to invest in bitcoin is very slim.
I don't think that this is an effort to bring mass adoption for Bitcoin but it is just a small effort from a normal person to do something positive towards Bitcoin adoption and I think that can be pretty effective at least to educate people or let them know about Bitcoin, they will at least ask someone about what the logo is about when they see it.

I think if all of us make some efforts just like OP, it will surely make a difference since millions of people will eventually come to know about Bitcoin and at least a small percentage of that will be interested to adopt it.

I’d make a piggy bank but write some funny yet true text, something along the lines of “put worthless fiat here/buy priceless Bitcoin when filled”. It’d make a little more impact imo.

I was to also add that Op could follow up his piggy initiative with teaching the children what the name inscribed on it means and how they could be better using it in the future. I remember we have had some members holding class room teaching with some teenagers and this is really commendable. But however, no matter what we do as individual to help bitcoin, bitcoin has the deflationary decentralised ability to help itself especially where it has been proved to be scam, so people will naturally adopt to have the knowledge and use it whether to the adoption of government or not.

Hahah. A very smart idea i would say to instate the feeling of savings in people and invest in bitcoin. People would save their fiat and after sometime invest it in bitcoin. Also this can be the money people can just set aside out of their daily pockets for just this purpose. This will be the money you'll not be afraid to lose as well. So yes a very good idea from you indeed.

What a creative idea. For me it's a good job OP that will have a positive impact even if the impact doesn't happen directly.
I really appreciate what you have done with this little piggy bank.
Where did this idea come from?
Did you buy it or did you make it yourself?

This is a great learning method for kids who like to save by showing pictures on their piggy banks.
This reminds me of when I was in school. This concept is also often taught by lecturers in one course.
In my work, I often give material at Training of Trainers training by showing some pictures to the participants.
With this method people will easily remember, that's why I say your concept will have a positive impact even though it won't happen directly.

I'm always excited when I see the bitcoin logo stuck anywhere and aim to introduce bitcoin, and I support OP's awareness or initiative even though some say it's not effective at least OP has a good initiative that indirectly introduces bitcoin. Because if a lot of people are interested, they're going to question the logo and this is an opportunity to explain it, and always suggest using whatever money you can afford to lose, including whatever coins you have. Because most coins are of little use, and you can put them in a piggy bank and over time they will become big.

and my suggestion is that the OP should also add writing or an explanation about bitcoin in the piggy bank in a part that is still plain and not exposed to the bitcoin logo, because that can help you introduce bitcoin or you write a link or barcode it will go to a more complete site for them to understand and learn.

While some people think that this is not an effective way to promote Bitcoin, I see it as a very effective way. Your idea rocks. Why because;

  • If one is throwing $1 or $0.5 every day into that Bitcoin piggy bank, they will realize like $30 or $15 every month, which they can use to invest in Bitcoin. If this action is taken regularly, like in every month, the person using it will accumulate a significant fraction of Bitcoin within a year.

  • Normal, there are people (both kids and adults) who spend about $10, $20 to $50 on their daily needs, and it's not going to affect them if they just spear $1 to throw into the Bitcoin piggy bank you have introduced.

In the past and even currently, most people are using piggy banks or some old-school savings box to save a small amount of money every day, weekly, or monthly, and when the savings period is completed just as they have planned it, they will take out the money and archive the goal they wished for. This your idea is good.

Such a good way to teach children to be disciplined and learn how to save. Nice idea, this initiative will;
  • Sink the idea of bitcoin in the minds of the children since they will be seeing the attractive bitcoin logo often
  • It will teach them to save or invest
  • It will help them invest in bitcoin in the future, which is also good for an adult because it is supporting the idea of investing with spare money
It would have been more practical and fun if there is a way to periodically increase or decrease the amount of money in the box when bitcoin rises or crashes Grin

Not a bad idea. I would buy a similar piggy bank for my child and explain to him that it takes patience to accumulate bitcoins. This would be the first step, teaching the son to save the change and to cope with his emotions at a time when he wants to spend what he holds for entirely different purposes. It would be funny to see a piggy bank like this that is difficult to break or open, which would definitely educate my son to be patient for profit.
I also agree that it's not a bad idea. Its main goal is to make people aware of what bitcoin is and encourage them to consider bitcoin as an investment asset and a means of payment. Of course there are many ways to save money if they want, but for children it must be taught from an early age.

Without piggy bank with bitcoin logo like the product offered by OP, then I think someone also needs to know about bitcoin and its future potential. My kids are not ready right now about bitcoin, but I will prepare them well gradually as they get older. Of course saving money is the first step before they start investing, so I thought I should teach them too.

The piggy bank looks cool with the orange bitcoin logo on a black background - but the shape looks more like a soda can/syrup can than a piggy - recommend more designs in this regard to attract the younger generation. You could also add in a small piece of package insert where you can explain about bitcoin and how it works and so on in order to make the buyer inquisitive about bitcoin and its use. Then only they will check what it is and not just keep the piggy for collecting fiat coins.

Maybe you can upscale this into a small business where you are selling bitcoin-based merch and have a youtube channel linked to that where you give short explaining videos about bitcoin and how you have profited from investing in it. The list is endless if you are creative enough. Just dont go down the shitcoin influencer route. Cool

Any sort of support towards bitcoin or spreading the name of bitcoin among public gets the thumbs up from my side. I think we all should in order to grow this community with small bits of positivity to those who are trying to make a change.

Not a bad idea, but I doubt anyone would save cents over there to buy bitcoin. The fees that they will have to pay is going to be much more than what they will  be saving after weeks. Not worth it, but yeah, at least more people will be curious about bitcoin after seeing this campaign. That might make them invest in bitcoin in the future. Would be better if you promote safety and security too. That's the part that most people "find it complicated" and ends up either giving up investing in bitcoin or starts using a centralized wallet and exchange for storing crypto. But this is exactly what we don't want.

That's cute. We're trying to promote Bitcoin in our own little ways. But, of course, I'm appreciating this not really as a way for people to invest in Bitcoin, but as a way for them to get curious about it.

I think so too, it's like the bitcoin van that can arouse people's curiosity. What can happen is that from that curiosity, someone who manages to fill the piggy bank will finally use that money to buy bitcoin, but that will also depend on where the OP lives and how easy it is to convert cash to bitcoin, depending on the politics and services of the place.

I hope for a deeper impact. I hope the curiosity will move them beyond merely buying Bitcoin. This isn't just buy Bitcoin or invest in Bitcoin. That probably has a rather selfish or self-serving motive. After all, the primary reason why we want everybody else to buy Bitcoin is for the price to rise. This is probably what's at the back of our minds, that this scarce coin would get more expensive as the demand grows. But I think the kind of revolution that Bitcoin starts is for freedom in money.

It's more like teaching people to save in general than teaching people to buy Bitcoin, that's a different thing. What's make people don't want to invest in Bitcoin is because the volatility and digital, some people can accept the volatility, but they still not believe if their money are stored in digital. So I doubt piggy bank with Bitcoin logo will lead a Bitcoin adoption.

The piggy bank is not only used by children, but even adults have a lot of people saving in this way.
I don't think adults use piggy bank to save their money, they will use banks because it's more easier, convenient and feel more secure.

You just make me curious, where I can buy it?, and what material do you use for that?, Aluminum cans or cardboard?

I've seen innovations like this in my local traditional markets, the seller sells a piggy bank with cartoon banners like Tom and Jerry, Disney, warner bros and etc which I think it can make the children interested to save their money in a piggy bank. And, indirectly you sell the bitcoin for that, because the children are always curious about what they saw, so when the children always see the bitcoin logo every day where they always keep the money, they will find out what is bitcoin and learning it.

The piggy bank is not only used by children, but even adults have a lot of people saving in this way. I really support this idea because it will pique not only the curiosity of children but even adults who are trying to save money to have more money. People who want to save and earn money will be attracted to the bitcoin logo, from which they will learn about it. This idea is simple but highly effective in introducing people to bitcoin. Many people find it cheap and ineffective, but I have another positive view. OP, you did a great job.

So do you have a solution, and do you have any contribution to helping bitcoin gain mass adoption? On what basis do you say this won't make any impact? Sometimes these simple advertising strategies will work beyond imagination, don't underestimate it when you find it too trivial. I think this idea will help people know more about bitcoin, and the bitcoin symbol will also spread more widely.
