Why are some people so obsessed with doing advertising for Bitcoin? I don't think that Bitcoin needs such kind of marketing. In fact it can even have a negative impact on Bitcoin adoption if people are persuaded to use Bitcoin who are not ready for it. Not everyone has the competence to use Bitcoin securely in its current form. Bitcoin might even be perceived as a company that wants to sell a new payment service. Regaining trust after failing to meet inflated expectations is extremely hard...

The best form of advertising is organic Bitcoin growth. Instead of wasting funds to buy advertisements, offer goods and services for sale in Bitcoin. Buy items you need from other people who accept Bitcoin (without fiat conversion). This way the Bitcoin economy will grow and with it its attractiveness. More and more people will hear about it and will eventually start to use it, if they see an advantage (for example buying an item from overseas).

I think it won't happen because those reason :
1. Hard to find video which associated with bitcoin activity or bitcoiner
2. Who would promote about bitcoin if they don't get real advantage
3. Doubt people even want to click the ads if they don't understand or simply not interested
4. Even there's bitcoin-related ads, i think it's only fake investment
Well, there are a lot of money making videos on youtube and ads can be shown on there and some sites can promote the ad and sponsor it given that they will also get popularized, people always click ads even if the conversion is slow or very small, we have to be positive to promote something mate and you don't seem positive at all.

The Bitcoin Foundation was suppose to do these kinds of things, with funding generated from donations and sponsorship, but they spend that budget

on salaries and travel expenses to arrange public discussions. Now they are bankrupt and you do not see anything they do for the community. The

community will now have to do the marketing and promotion themselves, or this experiment will stagnate.  Roll Eyes
They wasted their potential. Some members sullied their name and and because of that BF become scandalous entity.
Plus, instead on focusing their efforts on politics and promotion Bitcoin Foundation opted to focus on development more.
I don't know much about that foundation but if they are a part of such foundation and they get good collection from donations then they must work for something constructive,  wasting money to make public discussions is not the best idea IMHO.

I have heard a lot about spreading then news about Bitcoin. I still think that social media is the answer to that. I mean Facebook already has a seventh of the world’s population. Youtube is also growing fast. I also know that many people in this forum have Youtube channels. I am wondering if we can get any ads relating to Bitcoin on the videos that they post. Is it possible?

If it is, I would like to have this thread dedicated to ads that can be put on youtube. Let others know about this wonderful cryptocurrency.

Who will do this. Advertising is very expensive if you are talking about YT.. the only ad I will watch of YT is the 30 sec unskipabke ad and I'm just taking a guess here that's gotta be costly. Now why would someone just advertise bitcoin as a whole, anyone would see their profit and maybe advertise their website or something at most.

Maybe the answer would not be to make ads for bitcoin as a whole, but to make ads for companies that work with bitcoin.
An exchange for example. It would be in their interest to advertise, and you can not advertise for a bitcoin company unless you advertise for bitcoin itself.
Of course, the company should be some kind of legit, so no cloudmining or ponzi stuff.
Yeah that's more plausible. But the thing is most of the bitcoin companies are small time none of it too huge to go on advertising on YouTube, yeah I have seen few( actually alot) of google ads from bitcoin companies but Google banner ads are cheap and the again if a company makes a ad would it target the new users or just the existing users because that's more better for them.

The one problem is - bitcoin is decentralized monetary system and it is not owned by anyone in particular.
If bitcoin was a company like PayPal we would see Bitcoin commercials and ads everywhere on internet, press, TV.
But who will pay for Bitcoin ads? Bitcoin Foundation? You or me? I don't think so.

Exactly, giving ads on social networks would not be a problem nor the problem of making the ads would occur but the main thing is the funds for advertising, if someone is willing to pay for that then it is good to go but i don't think anyone would like to spend their money for this.

If you mean the ads that appear on youtube, then you cannot do anything about that. It's google's adsense program that sells the advertisements to people, you cannot choose that a certain advertisement is about bitcoin as far as I know.
Yeah your right if you advertise and you only put keywords in adwords as bitcoin people who are searching about bitcoin can only seen that ads..
If there is a sponsor that can afford to advertise it in youtube they should ask for google to advertise bitcoin in all country and keywords..

We know there is a lot who want to that but who will pay. It is not that easy to do. It is just easy to say. Money circulates in this world so it will be money also that will provide for that to happen.

People who are running YouTube channels dedicated to Bitcoin do not control what kind of ads can show up during their videos that's up to Google themselves to decide. Of course if there are Bitcoin companies that are paying for ads to show up on YT channels sporting the Bitcoin tags and such the chances are higher that their ads will show up more often. Just remember that Bitcoin companies are paying for the ads and the YouTubers are only running them randomly.

i cant see why you couldnt put an ad on youtube if you pay the right money, but who would fund it or where you thinking of doing it yourself?
Maybe some sites like blockchain and others can advertise while they advertise bitcoins and how it work they can at the end put an introduction to their site, show users like how they can crate a wallet and how easy it is to send bitcoins to others and all.

If someone have a service that accepts bitcoins, or run some casino, or anything its much better option to invest in signature campaign here then in YouTube adds. Its just my opinion, here everyone use bitcoins or alt coins, their advertise is pointed I right direction.
With YouTube situation is different, people there don't know about bitcoins, just community that means, people here can invest in bitcoin promotion there. Gather group, find recourses and make some video that everyone of us here share there.
It is not the case for Youtube ads. Ad Sense is one of the most brilliant advertisers as it categorizes its ads depending on the video. Ever think of why you type "Los Angeles Lakers" and after that it will show Lakers products or even just type the brand of the car and it will show you an ad for that brand with payment schemes. That's how youtube ads works as well. But even though it categorizes ads BTC won't benefit from ads as I don't think promoting a currency can help its value rise.

Making ads for companies that use Bitcoin and emphasizing that they use bitcoin (namely saying discounts are offered) would be far better than just talking about this new currency sort of thing that people would have to go out and figure out what it does. While people typically don't really care about advertisements and ignore them, telling them they can save money is always a big plus for a majority of people. and something that should be included.

Well advertisement of Bitcoin is might be not possible as who will pay for advertisements is the main issue. But if user have any services related to bitcoin can make advertisements on not just youtube but on other advertising platforms to reach to mass audience as well as targeted audience.

Well, maybe the Bitcoin-related companies would do it. Such as BitPay, they can afford the advertisement for promoting themselves. If we can just ask those companies to place and ad about Bitcoin, then it would be possible. The ad can contain some parts to promote the companies themselves, but the main idea of the ad is still for Introducing Bitcoin.

The thing is that bitcoin is not backed by anyone. The idea of advertising on YouTube is tempting, but expensive. We will all need to chip in to advertise like this. Simply saying "advertise so your bitcoin will be worth more in the future" is simply not enough.

I haven't noticed any advertisements while relaying YouTube and if bitcoin become centralised means people who adopt bitcoin in their business they will give a advertisement in YouTube or any channel.
