When cryptocurrency is being used as a speculation tool, even a small bad news could affect the price, people are afraid of dumping after hearing the news and that's why they are doing panic selling to save their profit.
Not really a new thing in cryptourrency, just see in the past this kind of bad news or we usually call FUD always appear before dumping, people still fall for it, but im not.

On my mind Bitcoin will not go down more. It seems to me that prices fluctuate in a low range at last time. It makes less risks but at the same time it shorten opportunities for traders and investors.

Seeing the bitcoin price as it is now you would suddenly feel a bit disappointing but we have been in this situation before so, I think the majority of us are getting used to this anymore since the beginning of the year. Hodlers are simply ignoring this bitcoin price downfall and just continue with their lives in crypto and hoping one-day Bitcoin ATH price will surprise us again like what happened last year. Somebody said that BTC price will continue to fall because big players want to come in.

its too soon to tell if the price of bitcoin will reach 8k$, I dont think that its price will drop more, I think for now, its price will be stable to 6k$-7k$
