Before participate in airdrop, you should stay away from these scheme :

1. Provide KYC and personal information
2. Ask to deposit first for requirement of airdrop
3. Ask to provide your private key to join the airdrop
4. Check and verify the url first, to prevent from phishing sites.

If the sites is not have 1 of above my list, the airdrop is safe to join and probably legit. But as far I know I never saw any bitcoin airdrop till now, only faucets (earn some satoshi by completing small task). I only saw crypto airdrop.

Airdrops are real. In cryptocurrency, airdrops are used as a marketing strategy to promote their project and to create a hype in the market. It is also their way to distribute their tokens for the investors who are at the first place supports their project as well as to make the market more decentralized. However most of the airdrop coming from shitty ICOs' are more likely to scam.

I've been in this industry for a long time now and I can say that most of the airdrop I joined are just a waste of time. I have tons of useless token in my wallet and none of them can be excanged for bitcoin LOL!. Additionally, beware of signing up in different website or google docs that require KYC because it may increase the odds of getting your privacy exposed on the internet.

If I were you. I will spent my time reading and exploring the forum rather than wasting your time filling those forms.

AFAIK. There's no more bitcoin airdrops these times. If you see one, check the resource if it's legit. Unless that's a giveaway from a legit source like an exchange or casino giving small amount of bitcoin to test them or if it's coming from a faucet.

Most of the airdrops now are those tokens that does have an undetermined value and price.
