Most altcoin won't survive next 20 years, since most of them only used as short term investment, mining and trading. No one use them as currency or long term investment.
Only few altcoin with big market cap, big community & many use it as currency can survive next 20 years.

Bitcoin will survive next 20 years and bitcoin price might worth at least $50,000 while most altcoin barely survive and depends on bitcoin price.

There will be no bitcoin in 20 years because bitcoin can't scale and people stop investing their time and money and everyone lost interest.

I don't think Litecoin, or any scrypt crypto for that matter, will be alive in 20 years... I don't even think they'd be used in half a decade from now. Bitcoin on the other hand, if an agreement for the scaling problem is reached its userbase would be able to expand along with all the use cases.

In my opinion, if bitcoin survives for another 20 years, it will worth at least $100,000. Not sure about litecoin.

We need to solve the problem of network bandwidth, stoarge, blocksize etc etc... Still long way to go. Litecoin has not even started on anything like that yet!

I think bitcoin will be the only coin alive out of all these garbage coins.

I could see another coin popping up that does something really different but no clue
what that could be to make it better than bitcoin

Bitcoin will become the "gold" of the internet while Litecoin will become the "silver." With Bitcoin trading above $3000.

Sad part, there will be a lot of unclaimed Bitcoin by that time.

Just my thoughts.

When do you expect bitcoin to trade at above $3000? 20 years is a bit pessimistic. Where are the unclaimed bitcoin?

just like you've seen in the litecoin and bitcoin logo, litecoin logo is silver colored and bitcoin is gold colored,it'll be likely most like that

haha didn't realize the colours

talking about the future, it's really unpredictable. no one knows, but I'm sure it will be better because I read some threads that said their enthusiasm of bitcoin

Bitcoin will remain in the number one spot for say the next 5 years, but I think something better are going to replace it soon. You will have the BankCoin vs PublicCoin and the governments will favor the BankCoin. People will then be forced to use these coins sanctioned and backed by the governments and the like Bitcoin and Dash.

LiteCoin and most of the smaller crypto's will fade away, once this happens.

Bitcoin will be the king, no question about that. But litecoin, why? It offer not much value at all. In 20 years, chances are someone else will invent something else and taking over the second position.
There are many contenders out there already, I am not going over the list since will probably offend someone out there.

Litecoin has always been the number two behind Bitcoin and that will not change any time soon unless there is another coin that is taking over Litecoin's place. And no, don't quote me with Ethereum.
sorry i have quote you and mention about etherum here. i thought litecoin could be number 3  Grin , etherum rumoured become the next bitcoin , it has a community power enough and good popularity lately.
just the matter of time , not sure but it's happening now.
litecoin looks "run-of-the-mill" , nothing changes significantly, in other hand etherum continues to show progress and innovation.

Good chance neither will be around. If bitcoin can sort its shit out then it'll continue building and won't be deposed. As for the number two spot, that's a more dangerous and constantly changing position. I don't see what LTC can possibly bring to the table. It's sitting still while thousands of people are trying to come up with something sexier. Two decades of development is gonna turn it into dust.

the part about bitcoin seems true enough , but dont know if litecoin will still be relevant or some other coin would have take its place or if its just bitcoin standing strong in the end.

Shallow thoughts, especially delusional about Litecoin being alive or "silver" in 20 years.

My guess is that litecoin will die. The coin has nothing new nor anything to bring in the game.
It's a cheap rip off of bitcoin. No innovation whatsoever.

When it comes to bitcoin, well it will depend if we can make it go mainstream. If that happens, it will be the future.

i like your word "Bitcoin will become the gold" and for next 20 years i do really hope that will happen but i don't think Litecoin will become silver in that year because i so doubt that there are cryptocurrency besides bitcoin can survive till next 20 years

Thats the same im thinking.
Bitcoin yes. But more Cryptocurrencies are not needed.

why litecoin, which seems doomed and no one carea bout anymore, not to mention it does not offer anything

when you have ETH and decred that are much stronger and actually are a bit different than bitcoin, or even maidsafe if you want?

theres ton of reasons why ETH and the lastest co, may get flavor of the month with some of this crowd but not longterm mass adoption, KISS is one, trust is another (hell much of this forum have little trust for the motivation of the teams behind them).

lots care about litecoin, it has the trust and if you where to first come across all these latest 'original' or 2.0 or whatevers first, then btc/ltc came later everyone would be saying btc/ltc are a massive improvement on these.

over hyped 'innovation' for innovation sake doesn't make for a long term currency solution.

i know what you mean "litecoin was the second" but this argument makes sense only with the first, bitcoin, but i may see that there is a huge sentiment, and a huge attachment yet for litecoin, even if the market seems dead

i still believe that if bitcoin will be globally accepted on a very large scale, we will see many other coin succeed and not only litecoin, there will be probably a strong third fourth etc...

Optimistic speculators are hoping for the same spectacular returns from LTC as BTC given the way it’s following in big brother Bitcoin’s footsteps.

Bitcoin always being mother of coin, i trully believe that bitcoin's price in 20 years will be grow up, then litecoin i doubt, i think it's price will stable or maybe going down, due to it's adoption, nowdays litecoin's just used for investment purpose, not as a currency like bitcoin's did
just in my humble opinion
