Bitcoin as a payment system is now going through bad times. Transactions it became very slow, the average commission fee recently amounted to about $ 40, which made it economically unprofitable for small payments. In this regard, bitcoin as a payment system is practically not working, in any case, in this form it can not be recognized as working.
It would be good to see bitcoin being used as medium for payment system but as people sees it on the bigger picture, there is profit in investing bitcoin. But speaking of payment system, there are already businesses who use bitcoin as payment for their goods or services offered to their customers.
Is the best way to make it in public as a payment method here in my country some of shop or restaurant are accepting bitcoin as payment and soon they will accept lite coin and other coins.Imagine buying a soda or a cup of coffee waiting for about 8 mins. or so just for the small transaction and the people behind you,complaining, waiting for too long. But who knows what the future has in-store for us.
Maybe it will be applicable in online shopping or other online payments, but in reality or real life I would stick to the old fashion fiat currency. Not all people were using bitcoin, some other don't believe in bitcoin. Other people think it was just a scam. So for me i'll stick to fiat currency as payment system.
Would love to see Bitcoin being used as it was intended by Satoshi, at the present time this rather seems like a dream though. People are looking at Bitcoin more like a commodity and not as a means of payment. Hopefully this will change at some point in the future, when Bitcoin reaches a stable price.
Clearly, not at this point of time. We have been encountering a lot of problems in BTC such as High TX fees and Slow Transaction Process. Once this problems are solved, we will be able to use BTC as a medium for payment.
Bitcoin in general is currency with included payment system but cause of high price people using it a asset. At my opinion it is wrong but anyway profitable and smart.

It is posible for Bitcoin as a medium of exchange or as payment of services because BTC has all the fundamental function of fiat money but if you ask me if it is possible for BTC to replace fiat money as a medium of exchange maybe not bacause the transfer fee is too expensive.
We all know that Bitcoin is one of the best ways to invest your money. However, we know that Satoshi wanted to change money as we know it rather than new investment model.

Bitcoin still on the stage of rebuilding some of the foundations for more become stronger soon and yes I believe that bitcoin will next to become our payments I really do believe in that because bitcoin is the best coin now. Problems will occur if bitcoin fees are no longer under control, many people will not be able to make minimal transactions, especially many users from third world countries. Short fluctuations are particularly vulnerable to manipulation, which would be detrimental to many parties if applied as public payments. there should be a strong study to separate public rates with rates available in the trading market.
If satoshi has such a purpose then it should be investigated, so bitcoin is acceptable in all classes even around the world.
But it is not an easy thing, there will be many contradictions but if he has a vision and mission that is clear and acceptable to society.

Impossible. Bitcoin like instrument for investing - yes. But like payment should be another coin with not too much volatility
Due to limitations of blockchain technology Bitcoin cannot be used in on-line payments. Retailers, restaurants, etc. are not for Bitcoin. On the other hand, I do believe there are some areas where blockchain and bitcoin are highly welcomed.
Using bitcoin as a payment system is a good idea because of its convenience to people. With just the use of smartphone/computer and an internet connection, transaction become so much easier. Even when transacting around the different parts of the world with different currencies, it would be simple and effortless because the bitcoin can also be digitally converted to your needed and preferred currency. Now, there are already some businesses that accept bitcoin as a form of payment. There will soon come a time that most companies will be accepting bitcoin as a legal source of funds and as a payment for online products.
Bitcoin and any other coin do have high volatility which makes them unsuitable as a mean of payment. As long as there is no way to bypass that fact I personally do not want to pay with bitcoins.
Hope you heard the news that KFC in US is accepting bitcoin for buying their product and Amazon is also planning to accept Bitcoin as the payment option like credit card and PayPal. We can expect bitcoin as payment system in another two or three years, hope this is just an estimation time and things may come near even before that.
