I think this coming year will play a crucial role in this platform. I think there will be two types of happening in 2018, either this virtual currency system will flourish more and more or this system will be ruined totally.
But as a payment system, Bitcoin is becoming a popular platform and people have started this method already,

Basically, we people are changing the main scenario of this platform. Satoshi wanted to make a common money regardless the border and boundary through the internet, but we have made it as money making platform. But i believe that Bitcoin will last for a long time and it will dominate in the coming future.

for that i think bitcoin will still far from it. but being used to buy and sell yes it can but the fees is so high from fiat offer. so it make no sense to paid high fees to miner just to buy something cheap. bitcoin has to fix this or this will be an up issue for his blockchain.

It would be good to use bitcoin as a payment gateway but there is a lot of work to do with bitcoin payment system. First of all we see bitcoin is a bubble and may burst any time, it is uncontrolled currently and price in too high. It's not the right time to use it as payment gateway. In future if bitcoin become stable and controlled then it would be best to use it as payment gateway because it is peer to peer network and there is no need of third party payment gateways.

Bitcoin is still at minimum when it will go at maximum like gold then it will be the real ruler of world economy as currency. This will happens in next few years as Bitcoin is rising and spreading like virus. So must Hold Bitcoin or trade in bitcoin at the end.

I think it will be a good thing if bitcoin will be used as a payment system because it can help every bitcoin users to make payment in their miscellanous fees or transaction easy.I hope that it will happen as soon as possible.

Bitcoin as a storage token little by little turned to get multiple usages. Among that bitcoin as a payment system is also gets added. In recent days lot, many companies started to accept bitcoin into their business and drop the usage in a short, because it won't be gaining good revenue as the very small number of people know about bitcoin as well cryptocurrency.

Slow transaction and high fees killed the idea of Bitcoin as payment system. As investment with high present of profit it will exist for years, but as payment system it failed.

I think this is the good and great idea for the use of bitcoin as a payment system why because in bitcoin you don't need to exchange our money into coins that some places they don't desire to find coins for that's reason and they didn't accept a high value of money that they never had to be go somewhere for only to exchange it into cash, so I believe that from the use of it you can be easily to be paid without having a cash or else and also it will less hassle to every bitcoiner to transact in different places. And as of now bitcoin is more popular than before.

We (Filipinos) are lucky enough... since our Central Bank accepts BTC for payments and they already accepted some Bitcoin exchanges. Though there's still a lot pending on the list. But great news still, our Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) looks on regulating the currency.
The only consequence is, tax of course.

They see merit in Bitcoin, thus the tax is made by our Central Bank Grin

Our BTC wallet, coins.ph both have Bitcoin and Peso wallet wherein you can easily convert and transfer BTC to Php and vice versa. I'm still hesitant because of the tax though. Huh

Before everything went this far. Bitcoin "was" used to send certain amounts daily by us(users). Now that everything about bitcoin is getting so expensive. We can't even pay our dinner without paying fees which is more expensive than your total bill. Hopefully soon, we could realize or goes back to why did Satoshi san created this currency.

Apparently, some countries are accepting bitcoin as payments and there are also some people that uses bitcoin in certain transactions. There are a couple of restaurants in other countries that accelts bitcoin as a payment and this is a good progress for bitcoin. Though we can never deny the fact that there are certain transactions that requires fees but i guess most of the people wouldn't mind it so long as paying thru bitcoin offers convenience and ease. By tis alone, i believe bitcoin as a payment system won't be so bad after all so long as fees aren't that high.

using bitcoin as a payment is not a good idea because bitcoin is having serious delay and slow in transactions recently, so people wont accept why would they use a coin to buy something when they dont know when they money will be transfered.

Yes it is a good idea. Now we have an advance technologies and others. It is ok that bitcoin will be accepted as payment system.
