This is such a huge progress in bitcoin because the atm are keep on increasing rapidly and it means that the people are getting familiarized with bitcoin and i think that is enough to say that bitcoin is becoming popular enough and i hope that more and more countries will get bitcoin atm to spread the word of bitcoin to its citizen.

There are a lot more ATMs in the US and Europe than in the rest of the world, just have a look at this map: https://coinatmradar.com/

In the grand scale of things, there really aren't that many ATMs if you look at the whole world.
Coinatmradar lists 1778 ATMs in 58 countries, with most of those located in the US and Europe.

Even if you look at Europe for example, they are very thinly spread out across the continent with a couple of cities that have multiple ATMs.

October 6, 2017 had 92 ATM machines in my city.... today, November 8th, 2017, we have 109.
20% increase in the past month, in June there was around 64 BTC ATM machines. Crazy.
yeah i think that's great. and you should be proud, as well as glad of that. It would be nice if the city i'm living also like yours. The number of btc ATMs in my city can be said to be very small. And now, it's harder , Our government does not like btc .. but no one can deny that btc has a big growth, the quote is increasing of ATM  as you say the easiest thing to see.

OP, that's a crazy number of ATMs in one city... where are you located? London? NY? We had 2 Bitcoin ATMs in our capital (Kuala Lumpur) - located in trendy, really high-end areas where people would afford Bitcoin I guess. Think this was even in 2014 or so, but they closed down since and I'm not aware of any right now. Population of about 30 million and it wasn't successful then, and unlikely to happen again with the moves by our central bank.

I get why the idea would appeal... but to me it's just as easy as going on localbitcoins to buy a bit of coin. I mean, if people have a hard time understanding how to buy and use wallets, imagine how tough they'd get around using an ATM, no? Never mind the exorbitant fees...

This means that more and more people are getting into bitcoin for, the demand in atm's would not increase if there is no support for it. We know bitcoin is still young and all of the people who started it shared their story, with those testaments many people are engaging due to big returns.

That's good for your place. the more atm the more investors and curious people are in to invest some money. It's making to withdraw and deposit easy than the useual. the more atms the more can trust bitcoin.

I wanted to use a Bitcoin ATM in Manchester, England when I was visiting, but the fees are really high and it is pretty limited, I think you can only get a few hundred out.
I like the idea of them, but if you have to pay 15% in charges at the end of the day, as well as giving up your personal details, I don't think they are worth it.

Local Bitcoins should work much better, but I do understand not wanting to meet with someone to exchange, there are a lot of scammers out there.

I never understood why people would want to use these ATMs. Going back to old fiat based systems feels odd.

Let alone the risk you take showing everybody in the surroundings that you own bitcoin.

I'm sure in a couple of years, when bitcoin goes mainstream, we'll be seeing them everywhere. Once crypto debit/credit cards become available, its gonna take off.

Of course it is directly proportional on bitcoins growth. When bitcoin is growing, so as the material for the bitcoins growth will also act. That is a great thing for bitcoin, being known in the whole world is a lot.

How many will there be next year..... that is the point of this thread.
There is no Bitcoin ATM machine here in our country and I don't know when can we have here just like in your country. We just have here ATM machines that when you want to encash it, it's automatically converted into fiat.

Learning the troll avoidance button :)
They have their uses a lot of users are not at the level of proficiency to spend the time and effort to get registered on an official exchange
It's like a vending machine a bit more expensive than if you went to the grocery store but it's there so you can get your cash.
(Although foot traffic wise depends on the operator, and where they decide to put the things)

That news just identifies wasted investment. Real news would be growth in how many people actually use Bitcoin ATMs.

Bitcoin ATMs are AWFUL. They're not eve a good billboard or advertisement, because they're often in random locations that don't get much foot traffic. When the premiums on buying or selling bitcoin come down to meet the market we'll see the bitcoin ATMs become a useful contribution to the bitcoin ecosystem.
