Yes, ~~However not quite yet~~ (Already passed 5100 - My god....)

We should see the price of bitcoin slowly climb to 5000 and above in the next few days, before falling a little right before the hard-fork and then rocketing to the moon once again. It will be essentially the same situation as what had happened in August, though this time on a smaller scale.

Yes, the possibility of bitcoin hitting $5000 this coming week is 98% because the massive up coming airdrop (bitcoin gold), the russian finance minister licensing bitcoin exchange/mining, the ukraine legalise bitcoin and some african country stepping into bitcoin will generate some increase in demand of bitcoin.

This could potentially be the reason the price is going up, which is also similar to what happened with Bitcoin Cash, and that while the general expectation was that the price would go down instead. I however doubt that we'll see the price go up much higher just because of Bitcoin Gold, because at the end of the day, it enjoys less importance and 'hype' than Bitcoin Cash. But we'll find out for real when the time is right, if this indeed turned out the be the real reason the price has been climbing up, the chances are high that the price will correct itself to sub $4500 levels. At some point, I do expect the price to correct anyway, with the potential November hard fork coming closer.

i guess so and this makes the price won't go too high or too lower. i think the price is on the price now while many people is waiting what next will happen and they are really expecting to get btgold like what they get with bcc. maybe we can see $5000 in next month and after the fork because soon we have to face the fork is coming and i don't think that people want the price is down too deep.

It is a normal thing for anyone to hope for the best. However, from the look of things, the possibility of hitting a $5000 even this week is really getting more feasible by the day. Presently, it is trading at the rate of $4800 even though we know so many people are really dumping their coins for BTC but all the same we still hope it gets better. Although, there is a possibility of still having a little correction maybe after the first fork, but no one knows.

With 2 weeks before October 25, which is the date of the fork. I think it will reach $5000 before the said date and will continue to increase after quite some time. If the implementation of Segwit2x will cause a major disruption then we might expect the price to go down in just a couple of days. Then, the correction will be there to stabilize the pricing before the year ends.

Right now the price has fallen low to $4900, but same haven't lost the resistance to move forward. Soon can expect the price cross the $5000 and move towards the next barrier. People at present getting ready for the speculations focusing the fork which is getting nearby.

Is it me of isn't it obvious why the price is increasing.

Let's say I buy 10 BTC and put it in a paper wallet
I wait for the hard fork.
I now have two wallets.
People invest in the new BTC aswell.
Then the new BTC is going to hit approx 10% of the BTC price.
Sell both wallets and you made 10%.

Or am I talking shit again ☺️

Yes because they are so excited to sell their bitcoin right a way if bitcoin reach that predicted value. But i think it will not stay for a while on its value. it will fall again immediately because its always volatile when bitcoin reach in a higher even before. Because of some reason from market.but after that falling moment it rise again maybe it will reach into 6k in this up coming year 2018. As of now we need to check it every days to assure that we can sell our bitcoin in a right time and also to earn much profit .

I think 1 more big waves and bitcoin value is reach the $5000, all users expecting or wait this to happen. Because more of the members of bitcointalk are holding their bitcoin because they wait to increase their price in the market. Almost touching it Kiddo's and expect that 5000$ will be seen at the time the fork comes closer and maybe we can surpass with it after the Hardfork came later at this days. It's posible because another Hardfork is near it's posible for them to sell their coins and put it down into altcoins for extra safety measurement for their Money
(panic sellers) I would prefer to stack some BTC if that happens

yeah most people is waiting to see the price at $5000 but we don't know when will happen and now with the price is at $48xx, if the price break $485x then we have a good chance to break $5k. but if the price can not break at $485x then maybe we can see the price increase again in next month. but for me, i am still holding as i want to seel my bitcoin up to $5k and then i might be directly sell to buy something that i am dream on. but if not, maybe i will sell in small amount because i need that money to buy my daily needs.
