Congratulation to your good step to impact your family what decentralized is all about in the community. Your family will never forget this gift you have offered to them by giving them all the keys and strategies of cryptocurrency which will really help them to know the rules and regulations that guide bitcoin in the community.
Many people are now looking for where to learn cryptocurrency and to know what crypto is all about to humanity. Those that understood bitcoin are really happy with what they are achieving from bitcoin.

I think this is pretty cool that you are trying to get your family involved in bitcoin / cryptocurrency, and more specifically learning about them. I would of course be careful that you never pressure people too much in this regard but I think this is a great way to increase awareness and knowledge.

Recently, I have taken a step to create awareness about cryptocurrency among the people I know (Friends, cousin etc.). There are few books on cryptocurrency in Bengali language. I haven’t read all as the title was stupid. I have read one by Mostafa Tanim, "Bitcoin: Blockchain and Other cryptocurrency". I have gifted two times so far, one to my cousin and another one to my friend. What I'm doing is ordering the book online directly to their address though rokomari.
This is what I think the best approach to send a message that they should learn about it. Share your opinion/experience with such activities.
You should not pick a book based on their title because you wouldn't know what if the contents of that book are amazing. Sometimes you cant judge the book by its cover but I guess that's okay if the book has a spoiler. Some crypto books are just stories and doesn't describes the origin of cryptos and blockchain.

Your choice is right and that is better for the people that does not have a complete knowledge in crypto. They should start first in the beginning before moving on other non important topics. The idea of delivering books straight to their address is genius. In that way, they wont have a reason to ignore it than if you handed the book personally with them.

That's actually a good idea gifting books about cryptocurrency to others but the problem with that is if the person is really interested or not. Usually, people only will have interest on reading something like that if they are eager to learn about it or curious about it but most people do not. For me what I do is I give them an address, private key and tell them it's a money and I give it to you, here's some materials to read... study it and you'll get that money and it works.

That sounds like a good thing and hopefully your friend and cousin you gifted these books are the type that will actually read them to understand or gain knowledge from the gift they have recieved. Some people would learn faster if you coach them on things yourself and I think for the ones closest to you, you might want to teach them by showing them how you do it.

I do not know if that is a good idea or not good because we do not know if your relatives like reading a book. Before you buy any books and give them to them, you should discuss cryptocurrency and see how they react. If they are welcome to crypto, you can tell them that you can give them a book about crypto to start learning. So it is not like you give them a book and let them read and ask you what crypto is. No, it is not like that. We need to know their interest in a new thing and how they will react. After all, if they like to read a book and have a big curiosity about a new thing, they find out what it is.

I think giving the bitcoin book is already a good approach, especially for book fans who might prefer to find information through books instead of electronic media, and hopefully with this book there will be a desire to learn more about btc.
That's actually rare for someone to prefer books rather than electronic media and yeah, I think that books would be a good one because you know that the information there won't change which means that you won't worry getting confused because even with new information, you will still be able to easily differ and learn the new information.

This is a great idea and worth encouraging pls keep it up, in addition to this one can also make bitcoin branded surveineirs as such on gifts, branded shirts, wallpapers, stickers and billboards, while in so doing creates more awareness to bitcoin, also the use of short video clips, jingles, or movies with bitcoin as the story line, in so doing this create more awareness to the puplic to the extent of giving it a try as what you see often can tempt you to giving it a trial. Another means is individuals person project such as seminar on bitcoin in the nearest community.

If you want to give Bitcoin book as a gift, there must be a connection between a person and cryptocurrency. Otherwise a person might think that this is just a random gift you have chosen, and you havent spend much time thinking what to give. That might offend a person. If they are completely new to cryptocurrency, wouldnt it be good first to give them some basics, or at least introduce to crypto. Maybe they wont be interested in it at all. In worse case, they might think that you are trying to impose your interest to them.

Here is my little experience. I always liked Apple products. I was iPod nano user for years. Then I got an iPhone, and later bought an iPhone for my girlfriend. When iPad was introduced, I have bought it during first year after release, and I was simply in love with my first macbook pro. It was my first experience with macbook. One day my girlfriend bought me a gift - Steve Jobs: The Exclusive Biography in hardcover. And guess what, besides few chapters, I never read it.

Not all people are ready to read books.
Not all people are open-minded to adopt new concept, new technology.
Not all people are easily to accept Bitcoin as a game changer in this world.
Great points here mate , as we knew that there are only few who is interested in reading books than accepting other gifts we might bring them.

and also adoption takes time and wont happen just overnight so yes this is different thing to be accepted.

Sooner or later, they will accept it and use Bitcoin very often. If they won't accept Bitcoin, they will be killed by inflated fiat currencies.
also agreed on this, but they will learn this the hard ways and not because we wanted them to understand.

The way you introduce cryptocurrency to beginners is a very simple way and maybe they will quickly understand it, but it would be better if after introducing them to crypto you also have to guide them directly so that they don't choose the wrong path when they want to invest because usually beginners when make investments seeing that crypto is an investment tool that can give them wealth easily.

It'd probably be that I'd recommend books in the first place to people who actually like to read, and honestly, they're rather rare. Most people nowadays have quite short attention spans, especially on a completely new topic, and a rather complicated one (from the outside) like Bitcoin (or crypto in general). I had a few experiences with my friend first but that was because they were rather interested in it, they were asking stuff about what it is, how it works, and mainly how to earn money from it (which is their main motivation I think).

First of they should be reader and enthusiasts in taking time to do so. Many of them are so involved in the social networking that they have forgotten to read the real books by getting comfortable in the chair.

Today’s generation is all about quick learning’s. Go online search the topic and get quick answers from the online repository. They will sometimes just throw questions in quora, Reddit and forums.

I am not really sure what would be their impression regarding the physical book really.

Though it seems bright idea, it just don’t fit in for current generation.

In no way I’m taking this negatively, the tone feels in that way but it’s all about the facts of today’s generation.  Grin

I also wanted to share books to some of my friends and family members but not all of them are Bookworm in which they may not give attention reading those books , that is why i mostly send them videos or links for them to directly watch and understand than giving books.
but yeah you did a great job mate because books is a lifetime gift that they may take for the rest of their life and can be shared to their next generation .

Suggestion, Don't start introducing Bitcoin with a lot of technicalities. Its much better to gift them something they will see or physical like Physical coins, Bitbills and other Bitcoin collectibles so that they can easily appreciate that will lead them to have a curiosity to learn more about Bitcoin and its technical aspect. Your friend will just be bored due to the overwhelmed terms and technicality on how blockchain works. Let them DYOR it so that they will really appreciate Bitcoin.

Giving a book about bitcoin as a gift to others is a good idea but that will depend on they like to read a book or they will not read that book.
If they finally read that book, they will usually ask you for more questions and ask about many things such as is that true? How we can convert bitcoin to fiat and many more.
But only a few of them read a book to get more information while others will search on the internet or come to you to discuss further.
But that is still a good thing for them because you give them a chance to know and learn something that might be useful and worth it for you.

As far as I observe, people don't know things by reading about them in books. To somebody who does not know about Bitcoin, I think it is a bit too much to read an entire book about it. One reads a book about Bitcoin if Bitcoin has already got him interested. So there must be a brief yet meaningful introduction about Bitcoin. Perhaps a short video or article on what Bitcoin is or the whitepaper itself might be enough to trigger more interest and leads one to look for books.

How did your friend and relative find the book that you gave? Did they read them with excitement?

If they are book lovers, then they are easy to approach with books and I'm sure they will appreciate it when you give it to them as a reference and answers to their questions about bitcoins. There are lots of people who love reading until today because they find it so relaxing and calm while adding some knowledge to their brain. Maybe some of them already heard about it from others but have a lack of information about the fundamentals of bitcoins and you give them those books that have the answers to satisfy them.
