And if you like the project, please support it by buying your next Bitcoin book through the website so we get a small commission on the sales Wink.
Amazon gift cards paid with Bitcoin could work as alternative, but I prefer direct BTC payments.
The project is quite an interesting one with very much of rich informative books that many bitcoiners would really love to have their hands on them and with the use of BTC for direct payment it's gonna attract much sales from a lot of forum users who would like to give it a first hand trial.
They just have to make their payment options broad.

I understand that there are copyrights, but if you modified Sort by to have a section for free books or that you can download for free, it would be a great option, and some of us may not have the option to pay via Amazon, so if there is a way to pay with bitcoins and you buy them or gift cards, everything will be perfect.

As a design and options that are available, the site is beautiful, I hope to add more languages.

The website, design and all is done by me alone. I don't know how much hours weent in to it, because I didn't keep track...
Well done mate, the design of the site looks simple and eye catching to me. Just one suggestion, can we have a dark mode option in the background as well?
I may buy one of the books soon this week or the next one maybe, to support you. I found few interesting titles Smiley

Once the book I'm writing called 'Bitcoin History 2008-2024 The First Peer-to-Peer Network' is complete, I'll contact you to list it Grin
Haha, please keep us updated, Im very interested in reading such type of books as well Cheesy

Awesome. Dark mode option is nice as well. I started the design with a dark theme haha, but switched to white because it looked cleaner. But the option to change might be nice!

I LOVE IT!

I really like the white and orange accents all over the website.

It's such a clean site, and my absolute favorite part is that when you scroll down to see more books it says "Loading more wisdom" haha  Cheesy.

Thanks for making this, I'll make a thread if I ever buy a book off here and it gets delivered!

Thanks for the great compliments. Let's hope some people start buying their books through the website, so I can keep it up Wink

Your project looks great, The user interface is decent as well. The detailing and everything when a book is clicked is pretty awesome. I wonder how much time did you spend on creating the website? Are you the designer yourself or have you hired someone to design it for you?

As said by someone else as well, it would have been great if we could purchase the books directly with Bitcoin but since all of them are on Amazon, that's not an option. I also have one suggestion. I would have liked it better if there was a button that said, "Load more" at the bottom when we scrolled to the end instead of the entries loading up themselves. That would make it easier for visitors to also have a look at the footer of your website.

Thanks! The website, design and all is done by me alone. I don't know how much hours weent in to it, because I didn't keep track...

Yeah, can't think of any other way. But the problems start when people want to return the book. Plus the fact that you have paperback, hardcover, etc. etc. And the volatility. Lot of extra work I think...

Yes, sounds like it could be a ton of extra work. But think about the potential benefits too. A lot of people who use Bitcoin prefer to use it over fiat, and Amazon does not allow that right now. And unless you can offer something unique and different, most folks are probably just gonna order their books straight from Amazon.

Maybe contact the book authors that also sell their books with BTC already? That leaves only a few books.
First step would be to contact authors of books you have on your website.
Since you are giving them free promotion you can ask them to send you their BTC addresses for payment and they can send books directly to buyers.
For every sold book from your website you could receive small percentage payment, similar like with referral codes.
I said previously there are Amazon cards that are sold for Bitcoin, you can also sell this cards on your website for indirect payment of those books.

You could also add separate section for Bitcoin e-books.
For example Andreas Antonopoulos is selling his e-book Mastering Bitcoin, and he is accepting payment in Bitcoin directly, using BTCPay server or Coinbase.

Since you don't sell the books directly yourself, I think the only way you could offer the sale of the books in bitcoin would be to do some kind of dropshipping:

-You create BTC payment links associated with each book (you'll find a lot of documentation about this, offering BTC as payment is not complicated)
-You take the orders: the details of your customers: delivery address etc..
-You place the order on your side and have the books delivered to your customers

Otherwise, apart from that, your website is really well done!
I will use it as a database and I thank you for having centralized all this information, I discover the existence of many books thanks to you.

Sorting them by language is really cool.

I find the site a bit uncomfortable from a smartphone, but maybe it's because I have an old rotten Chinese smartphone, I don't know, maybe it's my Android version that is not updated enough.

Have a good continuation!

Thanks for the compliment. It should look good on all devices. Does on my Android S10 at least. Sure, it's mobile so a little worse UX. Maybe on really small screens it's uncomfortable?

Thanks everyone for the tips about accepting Bitcoin payments. That would really be nice, but I don't really know how that would work...

If I take the payment in Bitcoin, which would be something that is possible of course, what happens next... I don't sell the books myself. If I than order them on Amazon myself and send them to the recipient, that is a strange workaround, plus the time difference is not something that is desirable with the volatility. Also with people returning books etc. seems like a hassle.

Maybe contact the book authors that also sell their books with BTC already? That leaves only a few books.

So not really sure how to implement it. Any tips are welcome because I love the idea!!!

Congratulations on your project, very cool.

I would like to add that some books are available online for free. You should post that in your website
For example ,  Mastering bitcoin is a free book available in github.com

https://www.bitcoinbookstore.io/books/mastering-bitcoin-bitcoin-book/
for free here: https://github.com/bitcoinbook/bitcoinbook/

there are also multiple translations for this book.

Thanks. The tip for the free books is a nice one! Maybe I will add a section with all books that are available for free with their download link...

Appreciate the project!

Suppose if OP were to accept direct bitcoin payment, does this mean he/she have to ask permission from the copyright owner to be able to sell paperback and ebook copies?

From what I see, I think from start-up business standpoint, this would be very difficult to consider especially that there are tons of bitcoin related books available in the market and contacting every author would be extremely time-consuming.

I think OP would be acting as a reseller. Basically a middleman that takes payment in Bitcoin and then orders the book from Amazon or whatever for the customer where OP would likely have to make payment using fiat. He could charge a markup for this. I don’t think any special permits or licenses would be necessary for this. Maybe even a purse.io integration would be possible.

I really like your project! It is awesome that you have set up an online bookstore dedicated to Bitcoin topics. That being said, I noticed that others have already mentioned that it would be cool if customers could actually pay for their purchases with Bitcoin. I have to say, I totally agree! Not only would it be a really convenient feature for your customers, but it would also help to further promote the use of Bitcoin and increase awareness of its benefits. I know that there are a number of payment processors that make it pretty easy to do so these days, so it might be worth looking into.

Your project looks cool, but Bitcoin books should have the option to be purchased with Bitcoin directly, not only to pay Amazon and fill pockets of Jeff Bezos.
Maybe you can add additional option with alternative like BTCPayServer, if book creators accept BTC payments, and i am sure some of them accept it.
It's cool that you are accepting donations both in BTC and in Lightning Network.

EDIT:
Amazon gift cards paid with Bitcoin could work as alternative, but I prefer direct BTC payments.
