Lightning Network will be perfect for microtransaction which will be used for most of the time. Give it a few weeks.

Good news then so I am sure you won't mind giving me a few links to when Jaxx or Exodus wallets will be up and
ready to go because I hear that this will take about a year to happen so maybe your talking about Coinbase adopting
the new network and have some links for me please HuhHuh?

Here is a map of the network today https://lnmainnet.gaben.win/ and I can see that "Alice" has like six hundred
friends already but Bob is no where to be seen but "Alice" is having a little trouble because its such a common name
and a little bird has told me that she's changing her name to "Nat-West Bank" but I am sure this must just be a rumor
passing around.

oh here are some more links that I would like to share with you
1. https://lightning.network/lightning-network-paper.pdf
2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYHFrf5ci_g

I will hang around for the links I asked for  Cool

Someone has to lose money for some to gain. Its been this way for most of the market even in forex. Those who invested when the price were more than $18K must have been thinking already as to why they got into bitcoin while those who bought at the price of less than $1K are just going to cash out and wait for its price to dip lower as possible before buying back again.

Good logic until the last bit about buying back in again but do you think they will all have forgotten about the
miners holding a knife to peoples throats two months ago and charging us $55 per transaction ?

Are you sure the Lightning Network is not just a system of mini-banks because apparently that's just what
many are starting to say https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYHFrf5ci_g so I read the Lightning white paper
https://lnmainnet.gaben.win/ and the term "Fee" is used 45 times by my count.

Do you think that the party could be over like happened in the Dot-CON bubble and that we could well indeed
see BTC back at $0.15 per coin

Bitcoin, and all cryptos, need some good news for price to increase. The end of 2017 was full of governments banning exchanges and dealing in cryptos. Once all the bad news is out of the way cryptos can return to normal but I do not expect same highs as achieved in 2017.

I think that Bitcoin is going to increase back to twenty thousand dollars in this year. There are many reasons why it might happen for example big adoption of SegWit which will help to lower the fees. Lightning Network will be perfect for microtransaction which will be used for most of the time. Give it a few weeks.

I hope the relationship between the two of you isn't gone sore now. Greed is a very bad thing and your friend became greedy. Bitcoin is surely going to break its ath price but when no one can guess. If bitcoin drops below $6k and stays there for some time than expect a bear phase and I don't think we are breaking ath this year.

It is always good to buy when the market is red and sell when it is green. Because bitcoin appreciated towards the end of 2017 does not means the same thing will happen this year. Do not persuade any one to invest in bitcoin.

During the latter part of 2017,I advised a friend to invest inBTC.He adhered to it and bought some good amount..He then proceeded to buy more when it hit the range 18k-20k..He is now upset due to how market is reacting...Anybody here to give an expect advice?
I hope it will. But as for now, invest to Bitcoin. This is a good opportunity to invest since the market is on red and the value of Bitcoin is low. Since we all know that its price will soon recover, it is definitely obvious that profit will be earned once it starts to rise. So just be patient and wait until good thing comes for Bitcoin. Also, we should hold for now and avoid selling on not to contribute with the downfall in the market.

it will sure get back, actually my brother invested and i also invested when it hit 18k-20k too, i got nervous too of course, we invested and that's all the money i got back then. but i realize that before 2016 when i invested on that time also 1 btc is equals to 614 USD. when you look at it if you invested on that time you sure will have a big value right now even it drops on 8000 USD so your are still on the right track. just hold your btc, and study every altcoins you want to invest Smiley

I'm not sure it will reach 20k this year. But its development speed now goes down. Its value is decreasing. But I think it will soon overcome the difficulties and quickly restore the value.

we can not do anything but be patient and wait for the miracle that will come, of course, feel the same thing not only your friends alone certainly many who feel the same maybe even greater capital they spend. but I am sure and maybe also people others that Bitcoin will go back up and higher in value when the time has come.

I have been investing in small amounts periodically by time for a year back. Buying bitcoin step by step to decrease my cost, in average it seems it is ok but I sold all of them while it hit 12kusd. Buying small amounts would be the best thing that I have experienced to make a risk minimization. But still at that time my average of cost of buying was over 10kusd levels, I am not planning to buy from these levels, maybe if it decrease more then I might get some again.

Investments aren't a guarantee.

No and it's called "Gambling" but the game is becoming rigged with high transaction fees and the Lightning Network
that is really nothing more than a network of banks so I advise you to read the terms and conditions in the white paper
and concentrate on the areas where the word "Fee" is used https://lightning.network/lightning-network-paper.pdf

I count 45 times myself, what do you make it ?

Everyone will give you the same advice - To Hodl! When this friend of yours invested he should have been acquainted with the possible risk that is connected with the investment. The long-term profit that he is probably expecting is actually that.

This profit cannot be gained within a few months with the investment into the Bitcoin. I also hope for the growth but that won't is realized so soon.

Patience is what your friend must have if he doesn't want to get out with a loss. Reinvesting his Bitcoin in another altcoin would be the big mistake so if he is thinking about it talk to him and prove to him the opposite.

you should never advise others to invest in bitcoin. it will never end well for either of you because thanks to bitcoin's volatility the price is quite wild and the people who invest in it to get rich don't understand a thing about bitcoin and they will blame you for not being rich overnight.

introducing bitcoin as a decentralized currency to others however is a very different matter. that is what you should always do. that way you won't make them into greedy wanna-be-rich-overnight idiots and they won't be blaming you for the price either.

to answer your title's question, the price may still surprise you. i don't think this year's bear market is going to last as long as previous bear markets.

Your friend should understand that with NO INVESTMENT WHATSOEVER (be it fiat, stocks, futures, forex or Bitcoin) there is a guarantee for profit.

If there was, life would be too easy.

However, you can point to the fact that all major crypto experts are ready to bet that BTC will recover and even go beyond 20K.
