Yes certainly, fiat money is used, bitcoin used no more than 0,005%, I am sure there are many countries that are 100% not using bitcoin. so impossible that bitcoin replacing fiat money.

In order for bitcoin to replace fiat, it should be introduced by the government to their people, but if we are just going to wait for normal adoption, it will take forever, and some of us have already left bitcoin and new comers enters, so no increase in number, only in numbers of people who have experience using it, and that won't be good for bitcoin...  Smiley

Just to be clear bitcoin will never replace fiat even if bitcoin is being used or almost used by everyone and I'm sure government will not introduce bitcoin in a way that it will be able to replace their own currency, sure bitcoin can become more popular than fiat but replacing fiat! no, it is impossible! but you know what is possible bitcoin being replaced by another digital currency created by a government!

If that was true, then the digital form of fiat (like what's seen on Paypal, etc.) should've already killed bitcoin. But it didn't, right? Smiley It's because people know that they're using cryptocurrency so they can be free from the chains that the government has put on them. It's the only way for us to avoid taxes.

You actually can't say for sure that bitcoin cannot replace fiat even though it can become more popular than fiat. Every single one of us (except those people in mountains, islands, etc) know fiat. So if bitcoin becomes more popular than fiat, then that's quite amazing because there would be people that knows bitcoin but don't know fiat. Like, how is that even possible?

PayPal is a company and the government doesn't have full control(not even sure if they have control over it) over it, what I was trying to say is if the Government created their own cryptocurrency it has the Possibility(understand the word possibility) of replacing bitcoin, it may not be worldwide but it is possible inside their country.

I think if they would issue such thing, it wouldn't replace bitcoins at all but would be a way for new people to enter the bitcoin world. At first, the average person would be glad to try out the cryptocurrency of their government. After being exposed to the crypto-world, they will see threads or articles about cryptocurrencies. And we all know that the mostly used cryptocurrency is bitcoin.

Ultimately, the government advertising a cryptocurrency of their own would lead to people using bitcoins and bitcoiners wouldn't be force to use the government's coin at all because they already know what they're doing.

It's like saying that autonomous cars won't replace regular cars, because it's not used by a lot of people, some people who tried it already left, and newcomers enter.
But it will happen, and sooner than you might think, and so does bitcoin.

The example of comparison of Cars with bitcoin does not relates. Autonomous cars will not replace regular cars because they are too expensive and regular cars  have better features than autonomous cars.  But Bitcoin on the other hand has lot of good features which fiat dont have and for this reason it will replace fiat soon.

Of course, BTC cannot replace fiat. I certainly don't want BTC to replace fiat. I love fiat. I'll never use anything but cash to get a drink. I love having a thick stack of banknotes in my pocket. The goal should be to replace credit cards, traveler checks, and that's huge.

Bitcoins can be a new technology for us. If we use bitcoins to replace fiat, we should know what will gonna happen, and what will be the positive and negative effects of it. We need first know what are the positive effects of replacing fiat. First, the innovation could help on us, then, the new technology will be. This kind of innovation can lead us for the best technologies of it.

It might never happen really. No matter how this great blockchain innovation is, btc will not replace fiat. So long as there is government that will rule a nation its not going to happen. You wouldn't want a government to disappear either because it that happens chaos is going to be everywhere. Our money has iportant prints on it, we don't want it replaced by someone we never knew like "in satoshi we trust" Smiley
well, Fiat is more easy to use but we have to know that Bitcoin is even greater and more secure. If the number of Bitcoin users keep increasing, what will the Government do to stop them? If there are too many people using Bitcoin, it will certainly replace FIAT. And if government try to ban it, there will be a war, protest, revolution from the people and it will cause chaos

I think without the adoption or help from the government even if bitcoin will continue to grow and have users continues to grow, but it will not make fiat disappear or be replaced, one way to replace the fiat government must recognize and adopt bitcoin

An interesting example you brought. That can only be caught up what percentage of people use cars and think they do not need to guess how many people use money. Money used by all. But assuming the development of your script, the cars will be sold by certain segments of the population, and the money needed by all. And educate all and will be difficult to immediately.

No, we do not need the government to support Bitcoin. In fact, there have been many revolutions in the history which were not run by the government. As long as an individual know how to advertise and support Bitcoin, it will soon replace fiat in many aspects. From what I know, the government will never accept Bitcoin because they can not collect tax from the people using this crypto
Since the development and popularity of bitcoin depends on users. And our number is very small, to quickly influence the rate of adoption of bitcoin in real replacement Fiat.

Very often on the forums and even memorize the information in the news, that paper money will soon cease to exist. All payments will be non-cash, and yet in final form, people will only use digital currency. It is certainly tempting to think that this life is the currency Bitcoin.

The growth in the adaption of bitcoin would actually be an exponential growth and not a linear one. Meaning to say, even though the growth's kind of slow right now, it will be really really fast after a period of time.

I don't think that the number of people that leaves the bitcoin world is greater than or equal to the number of people that enters it. Like I said, the growth is exponential since your friend can introduce bitcoin to his friends and the friends of his friends would introduce it to their friends. The number of people leaving the bitcoin world isn't growing exponentially. It's a linear one and it's not that much to begin with since most people want to earn bitcoins and never want to stop.
Bitcoin is better to use as it is now used, and do not need to be engaged in business, contributing to Fiat to replace. This is not like any government. And all of them will have to bitcoin was a failure.

I see that with respect to your opinion flared up a very strong debate. But I want to tell you a single thing about what everyone will be trained in the transition from decrees to bitcoin, so I do not believe that will study children and the elderly. And people from all glubinok sit without the Internet. Their bitcoin will not be interested at all.

There is no way we can win against the government, they are very powerful and they can make bitcoin disappear by making a law which states the use of bitcoin is illegal. We need them, and that is a practical answer from me.

It's not true that they cannot collect tax from us, the fact that we have to convert our bitcoin to fiat in a certain exchanges, we can be trace then.

I thought, until whenever, bitcoin will not be able to replace fiat.
With this current situation of bitcoin, it can't replace fiat. There are still fixing needed.

people are familiar with fiat, and even the community was not too familiar with the bitcoin.

Soon, bitcoin will be known by everyone, but for sure, it is not enough reason for bitcoin to replace fiat.

need special teaching to make them familiar with bitcoin.
Sooner or later children could learn bitcoin easily because of technology that keeps on revolutionizing the world and our lives.

although bitcoin can replace fiat, I'm sure it only happens in countries in crisis, and it is also true for a while.
Probably, but I am not sure that a country would fully use bitcoin.
