I also saw the watch and was able to eatch it short video clip made for it, it's actually a nice initiative only if the worth of it will comply to the worth of an asset so as it can serve an investment, two benefits could be derived in using it which is the fantasy a user will derived, the other one is the second hand value in which the user can still sell the watch after several years of usage and still make profit out of it, now i think there's need to analyze the justification of the worth of the watch been use as an asset depending on which and what material the bitcoin design was made of.
If I had billions of dollars I wouldn't buy it because it's not worth the price and if I had it I'd invest in different coins and bitcoins to see their price go up in the future.

What I was looking out for in the article is to find out how many karat golds the watch is made up of, because most smart people that wear this type of expensive jewelry are with the investment mindset that is their can resale the watch x 10 of the amount they bought it in the next few years just like Bitcoin, spending 100k to own a Bitcoin is never a stupid idea rather the wisest and smartest idea so the article referring to spending $400,000 as stupid money is wrong unless the watch has no investment value attached to it which I doubt that even though the article does not mention how many cubics of gold is embedded in the watch.

If I have the money, I wouldn't hesitate, $400,000 is affordable for such a unique and limited item IMO if I am a collector, and can afford it. There are more expensive wristwatches that people have spent more on. Take for instance;-Drake’s Richard Mille RM 69 that reportedly cost $750,000.

Though I'm not saying that this watch will stay consistently at this price range, there's only 25 of the exact watch, and if replicas would decrease the value of the original watch, then Rolex's, AP's, JLC's, Patek's, etc would be cheap now — but they aren't, because the markets highly value the original ones.
To even consider buying a watch of that price, I would have to have a net worth of at least $40M. And even then I don't think I would buy it. I haven't worn a watch in many years, and buying it to leave it in a drawer, I don't see it. If it is as an "investment" it seems to me that there are many more interesting options than that.

Soon we can see these on the Bitcoin museum. This is completely good for the richest. Yesterday only read about a sports personality who wears a watch of worth $225k during a photoshoot. It was into discussion whether he owns it, because in many occasions it's been seen in his hands. Even our mobile Phone shows the time, beyond that what's the need of such an expensive time watching.
