The features and design of the watch are very similar to that of Bitcoin, making it a treasurable collection. But, I am not too passionate about expensive accessories or designer outfits. But my friends always remind me that it is because I can't afford them now. But wearing a $400,000 wristwatch means that you must have all the security to guide you from robbers. This is because if people know that you are wearing a watch that the price can turn someone into a millionaire in my locality, they would want to get it by all means.

So guys, what do you think?, if you have the money, will you splash $400,000 to acquire this timepiece, or are you letting it pass?
As someone who likes to keep a low profile, my answer is always going to be a big fat NO.

I don't see why some whales wouldn't buy it. It's a much better piece than any of those weird-looking jpegs....I mean NFTs hehe.
I agree with the latter part, but I believe crypto whales normally prefer something that can "easily" be liquidated "without a delay".

however bitcoin as a term used to design a luxurious watch for the first time will help get people in the watch niche to design more of bitcoin watches, though it depends on the sell out of the watch.

If they're creating the watch with Bitcoin private key inside like physical Bitcoin, I think it would be a great idea.
I have mixed feelings about it [e.g. it'd be a unique timepiece, but at the same time, it'd also be a nightmare for whoever wants to extract the private key without destroying the watch in some way (I don't think manufacturers will place the private key and the tamper-evident seal on the back of the watch)]!

I'm worried about investing my money in investing in watches, what's more, the prices are so fantastic, I prefer not to buy the watches, and switch to buying other assets instead of watches, besides buying bitcoin is more profitable than watches that only depicting the Bitcoin logo, I think it's just a joke, if someone is an enthusiast or a hobby of collecting watches then it's normal for him to buy such an expensive watch...

I’ll pass on this, it looks quite cool but if i am to spend $400,000 on anything it won’t be something worn on my wrist. To buy something like this you must be worth $20,000,000 or more to justify it. I mean you can buy a home for $400,000 or even just a bunch of bitcoin which will be worth at least 3 or 4 x current price in a few years.

What I was looking out for in the article is to find out how many karat golds the watch is made up of, because most smart people that wear  this type of expensive jewelry are with the investment mindset that is their can resale the watch x 10 of the amount they bought it in the next few years just like Bitcoin,
I think the article included that the hands of this black Astronomia Bitcoin watch is made of 18K rose gold which makes it a good investment. The features and design of the watch are very similar to that of Bitcoin, making it a treasurable collection. But, I am not too passionate about expensive accessories or designer outfits. Zlatann my friend, thanks for pointing that out for I missed that part in the article when I wrote the comments I just read through the link you shared again and saw where the article stated that the band of the watch is 18k Gold which gives it the value because aside from that 18k Gold I don't think other parts of the watch mention on the article is worth that whopping amount of $400,000

A few years ago, there were quite a number of luxury timepieces selling for pretty high prices -- all Bitcoin or crypto related. Always wondered if they eventually sold everything (as limited as they may be) and how much they'd fetch today. I know classic collectors pay, but it's not like they're waiting in line to bid. Crypto pieces? Not sure.

So yeah, good money for the makers. But those buying with hopes of value appreciating, don't hold your breath.

Oh, also surprised they didn't throw in NFTs yet to accompany those watches.

The interior design looks perfect to me but this watch is cost for 20 Bitcoin which I can't afford now. Buying this watch should count as an investment not just like some random wrist watches. If peradventure am in the position to buy that watch, it's definitely going to be stored in my savings box until I can sell it for $800,000.

Don't let others control your BTC -> self custody
I'm sure these will fetch higher prices in 10 years when none are available for sale anymore. It's beautiful, that's for sure. If I had a lot of money from bitcoin like being one of the very early adopters I'd probably get one to show my appreciation to cryptocurrency that made me rich.

I wouldn't buy it because if I had that much money now I'd rather buy bitcoin at a 70% discount. I have some coins saved up and it would probably be enough to buy that watch if I sold it all, but that would be such a waste of coins at this price.

Dang only the Bitcoin whales can afford it. But I would like to see that in a Bitcoin or crypto museum.

Call me crazy, but if this watch could actually store BTC like Ledger, then it's something worth checking out than just being a luxury collectible LOL!!! Just my imagination.

But I would rather choose Bitcoin than this Bitcoin-themed luxury watch.

I guess it's an interesting novelty which might appeal to someone.  It's a bit... ugly for my tastes, though (not that I could afford it anyway).  I don't mean to sound harsh.  I just prefer a sleek, minimalist aesthetic.  Definitely isn't my style.

for now watch collectors buy watches at high prices for investment, not just for body decoration, but if I have a lot of money I prefer to invest in Bitcoin than watches,
but we can't fight people's hobbies, they are billionaires invest in expensive watches maybe nothing at a price of $ 400,000

So guys, what do you think?, if you have the money, will you splash $400,000 to acquire this timepiece, or are you letting it pass?, let's discuss.
I've seen and read about Bitcoin Wristwatch Valued at $17million and I've also read about This $348,000 Jacob & Co. Watch Is A Crypto Millionaire’s Wet Dream, I see there is a resemblance to Jacob's watch, only the price is different.

I think a watch should be auctioned if it costs hundreds of thousands of $, this is a fantastic watch price, maybe for an antique collector who can afford it, Honestly, I would probably think 10 times as much to buy that watch, after all, it took decades to get that much money.

It's a matter of perception like we don't have that much amount and it's too big for us and many like me would be thinking if they have the money they would be investing the same money into bitcoin rather then having these materialistic things and then return over it would be so much. But that's our side of thinking and these premium limited edition watches are actually for the elite class who will be having networth way more then it and can easily afford them so they will be getting that watch.

Company always make products according to the market demand and you see these watches adds to the prestigious collection of the buyer and they will gain some attention also with it by spending a little of what they have.

If people could spend millions for Rock jpeg then it's far better then it so it's normal thing for them not us.

The watch is aesthetically pleasing to the eyes and would be to bitcoiners. By the way, $400,000 is a whole lotta money but for folks with 50 btc, it is nothing. The funny thing about acquiring this timepiece especially for collectors is that may quickly become  bored of it and look forward to acquiring the next mind-blowing timepiece. I look forward to see a bitcoin car or motorcycle some day.

At the current price, 1bitcoin = 20k $, 400,000 $ is equivalent to 20 bitcoins, but if you only have 50 bitcoins and spend 1/2 of the money to buy a watch, it is not suitable, too wasteful. I think anyone with a few hundred bitcoins or more can afford this limited edition watch.

After all, this is just a watch made of gold and made in limited numbers which is why it is so expensive. Owning this watch only confirms a person has money, or likes to collect, but cannot confirm who owns it is btcoiners and cannot provide the same value as owning bitcoin.

Wooh, that’s too pricey watch! I understand that it has got some coolest brand name around the world and it has the name “bitcoin”, “p2p” and pretty much everything associated with crypto; but I feel like it’s too costly. The crypto is blooming no doubt, but piece of watch for 400k is really off the roof.

May be I don’t have good taste for the collectibles but this seems “made up” collectible to earn the interest of riches and get paid for the same.

The material they use is 18K rose gold, that's why the watch is very expensive.

To be honest I don't like the design since it's too much and complicated to see, I think a simple design with Bitcoin logo on the background would look more elegant. It's not even a watch if I saw someone wore Astronomia Solar, but much more like a luxury stuff without any utility.

Honestly if someone bought this watch, they're actually buy gold, not Bitcoin. If they're creating the watch with Bitcoin private key inside like physical Bitcoin, I think it would be a great idea.

That watch costs 20 BTC at the moment, and even if one of the ordinary mortals wanted to buy it, it is a big question whether he would be able to do so considering that there are only 25 copies that may have already been sold before the watch appeared in public. Although some may be surprised that a watch can cost so much, people who are extremely rich can afford much more expensive things, because even that amount does not mean much to someone, just as $40 or $400 does not mean much to me or you.

Bitcoin watches are nothing new, there have been many such watches over the years, as we can see in the next thread -> Bitcoin Watches

I don't see why some whales wouldn't buy it.
What the whales hope is perhaps at least under scrutiny to have a code to access the wallet to Bitcoin. Much more sophisticated technology. Instead of collecting gold in the form of Bitcoin, it does not mean they own Bitcoin. for collectors, this may be a coveted item, but for whales and investors, it is clear that what is being hunted is genuine Bitcoin that has fluctuating value and can produce. Isn't that quite reasonable? at an hourly price of $400,000, investors thought they could own a large amount of Bitcoin. With Bitcoin's current price of $400,000, we certainly have +20 Bitcoins. It's no surprise that neither whales nor Bitcoin investors is interested.

I also saw the watch and was able to eatch it short video clip made for it, it's actually a nice initiative only if the worth of it will comply to the worth of an asset so as it can serve an investment, two benefits could be derived in using it which is the fantasy a user will derived, the other one is the second hand value in which the user can still sell the watch after several years of usage and still make profit out of it, now i think there's need to analyze the justification of the worth of the watch been use as an asset depending on which and what material the bitcoin design was made of.

Truth be told, even the big bag holders who acquire this kind of metal piece are all with the mindset of an investment. What I was looking out for in the article is to find out how many karat golds the watch is made up of, because most smart people that wear  this type of expensive jewelry are with the investment mindset that is their can resale the watch x 10 of the amount they bought it in the next few years just like Bitcoin, spending 100k to own a Bitcoin is never a stupid idea rather the wisest and smartest idea so the article referring to spending $400,000 as stupid money is wrong unless the watch has no investment value attached to it which I doubt that even though the article does not mention how many cubics of gold is embedded in the watch.
I definitely agree with you. I don't suppose all those items mentioned in the Youtube video are just mare ordinary items without worth

The black DLC titanium Astronomia Solar Bitcoin is interspersed with details linked to the Bitcoin universe. A Bitcoin currency logo. A flying tourbillon. A yellow sapphire sun, a diamond moon and a golden Earth. A rocket to reach the stars.

So I believe those that will be investing in this piece are definitely going to be doing that because they know it can bring in profits in later years.

The last time I saw this kind of valuable Bitcoin watch contains Bitcoin inside of it but I don’t see any info about this watch if it contains Bitcoin along with the premium materials use to it. Buying this watch is surely for just collection purposes only and the price is the clear indication on what kind of risk you are dealing on owning one of this watch because it values can be easily goes down if you manage to damage it accidentally. Only people who have excess money can throw money on this kind of toys.

This luxury watch sells for $400,000 per piece and there are only 25 pieces of them that will ever be available, it was made to be just as scarce as Bitcoin is.
If I have the money, I wouldn't hesitate, $400,000 is affordable for such a unique and limited item IMO if I am a collector, and can afford it. There are more expensive wristwatches that people have spent more on. Take for instance;
-Drake’s Richard Mille RM 69 that reportedly cost $750,000.
-Christiano Ronaldo’s Franck Muller Round cost $1.5 million.
-Eric Clapton’s Patek Philippe 2499 cost $3.5 million.
-Jay-Z’s Hublot Big Bang cost $5 Million. etc

Was expecting to see in it some sats amounting for at least 1bitcoin then the name bitcoin designed wrist watch would have been more realistic. Though many whales may acquire this watch but its quite expensive, in few years, the watch wont be scarce as they may have thought, they will be alts of the watch in other words replica that will sell at cheaper rates Grin however bitcoin as a term used to design a luxurious watch for the first time will help get people in the watch niche to design more of bitcoin watches, though it depends on the sell out of the watch.

How so? Though I'm not saying that this watch will stay consistently at this price range, there's only 25 of the exact watch, and if replicas would decrease the value of the original watch, then Rolex's, AP's, JLC's, Patek's, etc would be cheap now — but they aren't, because the markets highly value the original ones.

To even consider buying a watch of that price, I would have to have a net worth of at least $40M. And even then I don't think I would buy it. I haven't worn a watch in many years, and buying it to leave it in a drawer, I don't see it. If it is as an "investment" it seems to me that there are many more interesting options than that.

Surely it will have buyers, and more being limited option but that type of buyers moves in levels of wealth that we have virtually no one on the forum.

Soon we can see these on the Bitcoin museum. This is completely good for the richest. Yesterday only read about a sports personality who wears a watch of worth $225k during a photoshoot. It was into discussion whether he owns it, because in many occasions it's been seen in his hands. Even our mobile Phone shows the time, beyond that what's the need of such an expensive time watching. Maybe personalities like the one I read might buy it.

Astronomia Solar is its name, and it is the first of it's kind, it was engineered by the expert watchmakers - Jocob & Co.

This luxury watch sells for $400,000 per piece and there are only 25 pieces of them that will ever be available, it was made to be just as scarce as Bitcoin is.

Being a limited-edition timepiece, the Astronomia symbolizes the early beginnings of Bitcoin and how it evolved from being a theory to becoming a pivotal building block of today’s financial system.

Such concept also adds to its overall appeal to investors and traders who have the wherewithal to shell out a stupid amount of dough to satisfy their needs.

Noticeably, the 444 components and two rotating prongs of the Astronomia are eye-catching. The first platform consists of the microchip main plate which resembles that of the brain of Satoshi Nakamoto and the other is composed of its arms as well as other intricate moving parts.

The watch is able to complete a rotation for 10 minutes which is in fact the time you need to clock in when waiting for changes in Bitcoin price. The clock dial looks the same with the motherboard fan found in ASICs that mine BTC.

The hands of this black Astronomia Bitcoin watch is made of 18K rose gold.

So guys, what do you think?, if you have the money, will you splash $400,000 to acquire this timepiece, or are you letting it pass?, let's discuss.

Find out more about this amazing timepiece from quoted link above.
