How does paper money does have a monetary value? If you understand on how did paper money started to have value then you'll realize how did bitcoin have monetary value.
Paper money was backed by gold as assets and that is why government can print money based on their current asset, if the money flow exceed their current gold assets then that is the time government started to have billions of debt everywhere and their paper money value decreased.
That's the logic why bitcoin does have monetary value because there are investors who are backing it up including you and I. This is the reason why having a supply limit is very good to all of us who are holding it. The demand will get higher and there's no way to reproduce it once all coins have been mined.

Did you believe the existence of air? Bitcoin is like an air. Yet we did not see it, but still we are believe to its existence because we feel it, we inhale it! Yes, bitcoin is a virtual currency. Though we cannot see it in the physical world, it has a value. Bitcoin has a monetary value because it can also a type of financial institution, an internet banks in specific.

Bitcoin's esteem were just a component of the greater part of the mechanical perspectives, at that point there's no reason that Bitcoin wouldn't effortlessly be supplanted by another digital money that has better highlights (even the Bitcoin bulls will recognize that the innovation could be better, especially on the mining side and the affirmation time).

Bitcoin as a virtual currency, how does it have a monetary value?
1)There’s a fixed supply.
            2)It’s easy to transport.
            3)Decentralisation .
4)International recognition and not a virtual currency

Bitcoin as a virtual currency, how does it have a monetary value?

So, you basically are saying that our money in the bank does not exist since we do not see them? or using credit cards are like using card boards am I right?

Look man, just because you do not see it doesn't mean it isn't real. When you put effort into it, or value, it gains value. The same goes with fiat. It has value because the people has given importance to it. And with an Iphone that was bought with fiat, Iphone also has gotten value. And as people buy bitcoins with fiat or work for bitcoins, it gains value, and as they buy other altcoins with the use of bitcoins, then of course those altcoins gain value also. I hope you get my point. good day pal.

Bitcoin as a virtual currency, how does it have a monetary value?

Bitcoin is a digital money and the future deserves it. For any product which has demand in market has value thus Bitcoin has value due to the demand by different countries and different people. You can see the market cap of Bitcoin and other crypto currencies and guess what is the demand for it. Just having fiat or fixed asset is not a value in future and Bitcoin like digital money will be a valuable asset for the future.

MY RED TRUST LEFT BY SCUMBAGS - READ MY SIG
but how will i sending immediately over the internets tangible value for my goods i wanted to order from other side the world??

this is internets money pal

we are all living in a simulation apparently where tangible is merely a matter of perspective

get with the times

If we all asked for the tangible value of our current fiat at once you  would find that little would be delivered to each of us.

It is no longer backed by gold and is just a faith based system too.

You could argue that golds value is faith based. Try eating or drinking it try building a shelter or fucking it. (both possible I guess )

The only real things you need are food, water, shelter, and pussy. Trading in anything else is a leap of faith of eventually trading back into those things at an advantage.

Things obviously do not have to be tangible to have value

Would you rather watch a bunch of 0 and 1 generate images of a hot model getting dp in vr or have some tangible dog shit rubbed in your eyes

Information is very very valuable i hear and it is not tangible in all cases.

Value is about survival then perception.

Tell me ... what is real..

Bitcoin has its own monetary value based on the purpose of converting cash money to bitcoin to do digital transactions which is cost lower fees than the bank and also its untraceable yet by government and since then bitcoin value is based on the demand of the bitcoin itself and also the limited supply of it. Nowadays everything has their own value whether its tangible or not, you could see it like a contract agreement where the price already been set-up before the item been delivered. The common example to explain this is the future market where there are no assets been traded in the market but it drive the whole market price.

bitcoin is not a "virtual" currency.
Of course it is a virtual currency because as the topic said it didn't exist in the real world or in the other word its not "tangible"

The value of bitcoin is that it is free to pay across the Internet.

Bitcoins reduce the cost of capital flows, allow the free flow of funds to the most needed places, and finally realize the rational allocation of resources.

The same way most people who own Apple, Alphrabet, Intel, etc. never actually SEE OR TOUCH their stock certificates.    They are just digitally represented in their brokerage account.   The same way most people rarely SEE OR TOUCH the money in their bank accounts.   I don't need to touch my BTC to know it exists.   Mostly because whenever I use it to buy something tangible, I can feel that.   I can also instantly feel the fiat when I convert btc to fiat through my Xapo, ANX, Advanced Cash, etc. debit cards.

Both may encounter fiscal esteem, yet there is a distinction between the two, bitcoin is altogether different from the basic cash, if the traditional money is extremely powerful on monetary conditions, the security of a nation, yet bitcoin is incredibly affected by the level of certainty of everybody who utilizes it

Bitcoin as a virtual currency, how does it have a monetary value?
Bitcoin is not backed by anything like other assets.
Gold and silver that are currently trading in market are also virtual and nobody knows whether there is equal amount of gold backing those digital gold numbers or not. But in case of bitcoin we can verify existence of every coin, nobody can create more bitcoin than 21 million and it is not controlled by any centralized body so it is much better than gold or silver trading.

Bitcoin value is outcome of supply and demand, some also argue it just holds speculative value not a real one.

Both may experience monetary value, but there is a difference between the two, bitcoin is very different from the common currency, if the conventional currency is very influential on economic conditions, the security of a country, but bitcoin is greatly influenced by the level of confidence of everyone who uses it.

Bitcoin as a virtual currency, how does it have a monetary value?
How does paper money does have a monetary value? If you understand on how did paper money started to have value then you'll realize how did bitcoin have monetary value. But to make it short it is because there are people who invested to it, just like the stocks market. A value of stock will not increase if there's no demand and investors. And bitcoin doesn't exist in the real world? Technology do exist and bitcoin is a product of innovating technology so in logic it does exist.  Smiley

Where is my ring of blades...
Bitcoin as a virtual currency, ...

bitcoin is not a "virtual" currency. and you are only saying it "doesn't exist" because you do not understand how it works. in fact your saying is the mentality of an 80 year old person who resists change and still doesn't even have a bank account, debit/credit card, cell phone or even a computer. the older generation don't want to understand new technologies and bitcoin is a new technology and whether you understand it or not, it exist and has a value.

I suggest starting by searching in google for terms such a "what is bitcoin", or visit bitcoin.org and start reading some contents to get you started. if you had problems understand after you read them come back to us and we will help you.
