Bitcoin was supposed to be used as a currency, not only a form of investment. However, it's been more successful as a form of investment, a "speculative asset".

Do you guys think that this can change in the long term ?

I think bitcoin not failed as a currency because it is good and trusted. Actually bitcoin now is so popular and famous because you can see it all over the world you can see it in the news, advertisement or even in the movie because there is so many people that is rich now because of bitcoin.
I'm not going to say it's failing, because it's just a one-sided assessment of some users, although many people say that fluctuations
can not be used for currency, it's free they say like that, but in fact I can still easily spend bitcoin on some sites easily..

Bitcoin will continue to be a volitile commodity until it finally scales properly and fees go down to a reasonable amount. Until then, hard to say

I think as for now,we cant say that bitcoin failed as currency. Because there still a lot of time. Maybe in the future will  be more interesting and hoping that it will become a currency.

Yes agree with you. Maybe now is not the time for bitcoin to be currency because of many factors. Maybe in the future will be the currency because the technology will be advanced and humans will be in ease by technology and humans must also follow the time because otherwise it will be hampered.

Bitcoin very failed as currency because bitcoin value is very unfocused and inconsistent and high volatility. But bitcoin still has many benefits. If well-regulated, bitcoin can be a means of investing. Making bitcoin as currency seems impossible, but as a commodity bitcoin is very promising.

We cannot jump to a conclusion if its continue growing and running, price fluctuations are just normal. Maybe now its low but on a short period of time it will bounce back. Bitcoin will never be a failure.

While poor use of bitcoin as a means of payment is really a big problem for him and for all the crypto currency. I do not think that in the near future the situation in this regard can somehow change. People are more inclined to use bitcoin for profit as a means of accumulating value, and not as ordinary money. If now bitcoin is greatly reduced in price and the trust of the masses is diminished, it is possible that it will begin to be used more as a means of payment. Otherwise, I do not see any other options. While the current use of bitcoin leads to a dead end. It leads to a constant increase in its price, the emergence of panic over time and a return to a low price.

Though originally, it had been created to become a currency, it became successful as an asset for investment. And I think it is better. Plus there are growing market of altcoins, which also affect Bitcoin and make it more stable.

I do not know. About failure or success, the process is currently running. Bitcoin is paving the way for a big change. at least now bitcoin has started, already used to make payments despite many pros and cons. Will it fail or succeed for the future? let's wait and see.

Bitcoin does not failed as a cryptocurrency. Although, most of the people who uses it think or sees bitcoin as a tool or form of an investment, bitcoin being a currency is still up today. As a matter of fact, there are people who have an online transaction using bitcoin such as paying something so I guess bitcoin as a currency does not failed entirely.

I strongly disagree. All blockchains are currently grappling with the scaling issue, and it's easier to talk about it than to actually solve it. Currently the foundation is being built with the Lightning Network.

I wish there was less fluctuation in the price so that people could focus more on developing technical advancements. It's hard to focus on that kind of stuff when there's drastic changes in the price.
this is also the attraction of bitcoin so much that the investment here. fluctuations in the bitcoines price happening rapidly this is the reason to gain much profit in a short time, although this can not be a valid currency benchmark, but bitcoin has become an idol for investors.

I do not want it to be a currency, if it is very difficult to handle, it is invisible, it does not exist.

I wouldn't say it's failed just yet but if things do not change, that will certainly be the end result.  But this doesn't apply only to bitcoin, i think that crypto's in general is in danger of being seen as a get rich quick sort of phenomenon.   The intended concept of bitcoin as a currency isn't its primary use case any longer because we the users have chosen to use it mainly as a store of value, a way to making great returns.
One way that the currency use case could have be sustained could have been mass adoption, unfortunately that hasn't happened yet.

We can't say this thing right now because the future are still bright with bitcoin. Yeah, for now a lot of black propaganda just to ruins bitcoin reputation but I still believe in the future of this thing, bitcoin will become a major currency in the future. This is just the beginning.

Yes, crypto is the future. Even if BTC fails, it will be replaced by other crypto currencies such as ethereum and ripple. But I'll long for bitcoin  Embarrassed

I think from the beginning bitcoin is not used as currency because speculative characters are not suitable for currency. so as long as bitcoin is still speculative eating will fail as currency. It's possible that bitcoin can improvise, but not sure how far.

I would rather say we as a people have failed to use it as a currency and are all interested in making quick and huge returns on them instead of looking for a solution to develop it well for our day to day usage. The merchants are also to blame for not adopting it on full scale so that the ordinary people will be encouraged to use it.
