Already we have many crypto social media available and existing today but it won't replace Facebook and twitter because majority of people using those platforms are not crypto people.

Hello guys I know you have heard about the recent banning of cryptocurrency by facebook and twitter. And is somewhile I am thinking if we could just have a social media of our own which is dedicated to the growth and development of cryptocurrency. With this I am asking the creator of this forum if they will accept this idea that they will create an extension of this forum that looks like facebook and twitter so that we no longer need to use facebook and twitter anymore. This is a call for revolution against those social media sites who are abusing their power and authority.

So what do you think guys is my opinion good or just a plain nonsense.

so you can then create a new authority that is in the interest of bitcoin, and its mining industry?

Do not worry about any banning by social media platforms because a time will come they will be looking forward to see people coming to place cryptocurrency related advert in their platform. We have so many blockchain oriented social media platforms existing and we also have upcoming that are running ICO.

Actually, the idea of a social networking website is that people who are busy with jobs can contact with friends in their free time. I do not think that something with discussions only about finance and crypto will work in case of a social network.

Even if the forum owner agrees to do this, the new site will not be able to compete with Facebook. The daily traffic of Facebook would be more than what this forum gets yearly currently.

if I think it's still quiet because a lot of social media is now popping up, just like its Medium and Steemit.

if only Twitter and Facebook Banned ads Crypto not too in trouble. we are positive because there are many solutions.

this group can also be famous to all corners of the world when we can develop together Cryptocurrency.

I think that's a great idea. but the idea will not be effective in advertising. Essentially, social media like facebook and twitter are tools to promote various ico easily and precisely on target. although interested investors are not as big as in this forum.

I think the problem with centralized Ad engines like Google or Facebook is, they do not have the mental bandwidth to judge if the ICOs are genuine or their platform will become an instrument of their scam, which is why they are banning it for the moment, only to come back to it later.

Signature activity already exists in this BBS!

Because of the bounty task, a lot of spam exists here!

The administrators already hate these emails, I don't want them to expand BBS!

I don`t think that Bitcoin Forum will be able to replace FB and Twitter for now (at least in the nearest future). If you take a closer look at the recent statistics you will notice that the number of people who visit FB monthly reached 1.9 billion in 2016. What about Twitter...in january-march 2017 there were 328 millions users who visited it. This social networks along with Instagram have proved to be user-friendly, fast, useful and convinient. Moreover, people got used to it and they will hardly gave them up. And what also matters is that there`re still many people who didn`t hear about crytocurrencies, blockchains etc. The situation won`t change until officials and politicians come to some sort of agreement.  Wink

Creating a new social media like Facebook or twitter is not a problem but how do we have millions of users like those social media? This a task that will hard to accomplish obviously its a good idea or way of bypassing sanctions against cryptocurrencies by those media, we need to advertise, promote and publicize cryptocurrencies aggressively.
I agre with you because that is the way to promote bitcoin in social media that's why facebook and twitter was created so i think facebook will not replace by the bitcoin maybe there's a reason why creating social media, social media is better to promote bitcoin to have many investor's.

Thats a great idea indeed:
To decentralize social networks.

Bitcointalk isnt a replacement of it either, simply because it is not decentralized either.

There are a couple of blockchain projects that are trying to be alternate to the likes of Facebook and Twitter, some of the popular names are:
- Dispora (lets you host your own social networking pod)
- Steemit (sort of centralized again, but gives you money for every popular post you make).

Maybe we need a network that merges the 2 ideas above and is as decentralized as Bitcoin, with decentralized hosted nodes that no one person controls and so on.

It is also a good thing, But we still need a lot of time to accomplish this because not all people will have the interest to create an account here. All we have to do is support this in order to further develop the world of crypto currency

And it is not that easy to create a forum like a Facebook or Twitter as they will create features like adding friends and everything. For me, bitcointalk forum itself is fine with me. I am contented with how things are going and I am fine with everything here.
IMO, It may set up everything complicated if this forum will turn into fb or twitter.

But I  agree that maybe we can add some tweaks to make our forum more exciting, more organized and at the same time educate more members here.

Use Bitcoin to bring new flavors for content creation and social interaction, such as reviews and photo sharing, through economic incentives. Bitcoin fans are unable to use these networks with networks using alternative currencies. Through Bitcoin to motivate content creation and online interaction, it will outperform those social networking platforms that use alternative currencies. If you want to go beyond FACEBOOK, there is still a long way to go for blockchain technology, at least to reflect true decentralized management and confidence storage, and to make your own advantages is fundamental.

For me we don't need to create another social media site for our discussion Bitcointalk forum is enough fo us. Even social media campaign remove we have an additional options like signature campaign, youtube and blogging this campaign is really enough to promote ICO's bounty campaign. For making videos in YouTube we could also Advertise bounties and Ico. So we have  mo problem if social media banned promoting cryptocurrency as long as promoters and bounty hunters deserves to earn and to help they would do all things no matter what happened.

Maybe he wants a feature where you can follow/add users just like what you can do on Facebook and Twitter.

Our good pal Xetsr has not made this an easy thing to figure out, because they've posted this thread and left us in the dust. I hope they pop their head back in here for a little bit of elaboration and collaboration to build up their idea or mark it as impossible.

It would seem of minimal benefit to implement such a feature, who would that benefit? I imagine it would cause a lot of people to be followed around the forum more than they already are. Lower-ranking members following the reputable higher-ranking members to rephrase their posts and pass them off as their own.

This is a good idea and it’s sad that Facebook and Twitter is doing the banning. However, like some have already said this is pretty much the new social media for this. Where people can meet specifically like minded people and communicate and meet. This site is very promising and the more people learn about this the better.
