Actually such banning is common from the starting of the crypto market. Moreover bitcoin has bitcoin talk forum for the promotion and providing services to the investors of this market. Such banning will not affect the market and many media will be created here for the promotion in future.

No, it's not. But it's actually the first and the most popular platform for cryptocurrency marketing and  related stuffs. Though there was a time facebook and some other social media platforms where used but now, facebook put a restriction to it because of many scammy ICO out there. Though,  there are many websites now specializing in marketing cryptocurrencies.

The thing is though that the forum we have here and other forums is that
we are the captivated audience, we as a collective just need good marketing
targeted at as and some of s are bound to bite!

the most prominent social media platforms has banned cryptos.
they didn't ban "cryptos" they banned advertisement of scams aka ICOs that have been taking the money from newbies and scamming them day after day.

This is one of the major causes for lack of acceptance for Bitcoins and cryptos.
WRONG. this has nothing to do with bitcoin and acceptance of it or altcoins and acceptance of them. for instance altcoins aren't adopted at all by anyone other than speculators because their main purpose is getting pumped and dumped. and as for bitcoin it is being adopted in different sectors even if something like Facebook allows bitcoin-related services to advertise on it or not.

What do you think ? and what steps should be taken to remedy this situation?
the first step is to stop creating scam projects, specifically ICOs that are creating a pointless token just to raise money! start by building legit cryptocurrencies set out to function as a crypto-currency not a speculation tool. then you will see things change on their own.
Maybe I wasn't so clear, but I meant advertisements. Also, I agree with the organic growth.

There are plenty of choices when it's about to find a channel to market. Find your targeted audience you will find your related channel. Even if some removed crypto advertisements it doesn't matter. Not a lot was using it so, and the ones that used, have already found alternatives.

The forum(s) is/are maybe the last channel you could use to market a crypto project, to be honest. All you need is a good communication strategy
Well, you summed it up really good! Much appreciated!

Yes, here we have users who actually are interested in buying and the new project launches.

if your project is actually good then you won't need any advertising, people will eventually come. you can always take bitcoin as a good example of how things work. nobody advertised bitcoin to make people come and invest in it, they do that on their own.
you feel the need for advertisement on those platforms because what you are creating is not actually any good.
The market is saturated with all kinds of projects. To make your project stand out, marketing is really necessary, even if its unique. You have to let people know what it is about.

I cannot see why this might be a problem? The best target audience for Crypto currency services or goods are a platform where there are a high concentration of people who are interested in those kinds of products and services.

A simple Google search, will direct people to a wealth of information in a centralized location. In any way, we still have Reddit and some smaller Crypto currency related websites out there, where there are no Crypto Ad bans.

I see this as a opportunity, rather than a obstacle for people to grab the opportunity to focus people's attention on Crypto currency related sites and not some congested social media platform.  Roll Eyes
I can see where are you going with this, but most of the people understand social media sites and click on them more than they do on any forum. That is why I think, for educational purposes too, it shouldn't have been banned. Though we crypto lovers could advertise this forum though.

Agreed! but don't you think facebook and other social media platforms that hold a lot of significance should accept the importance of bitcoins and every crypto currency and should openly allow the legitimate project to be marketed there.
That's the sad part! They could help revolutionized existing financial system. Though I've heard Facebook is coming up with its own cryptocurrency.

Well, social networks still a nice medium to promote cryptos. I have seen lot of instagram groups about cryptos, even some coindrops are made in instagram now days. I think other way to promote icos is with google or facebook campaigns, you know those systems where the click have a cost but will get to the market you are searching for.

Even with social networks and campaigns you are right, the promotion on the forum is always much effective than social networks.

Bitcointalk forum indeed is the most effective way to promote any cryptocurrencies related things because it is the place where the crypto user gather around. It makes this is the place where you need to go first. But it does not close the possibility social media marketing isn't working for cryptocurrencies, It able to promote to a wider market.
Yes Bitcointalk forum is where the crypto target market is. But the market is small for a widespread marketing campaign and to make crypto a household name.

I believe that this forum is the best forum ever to host the ICO's  where most of the investors and bounty hunters gather to participate in supporting new ICO's during the pre-token sale. Being the original forum that handles many successful ICO's, no doubt that many people in the crypto world had full support on this forum. I also believe that there are measures to improve the forum's service to the people where they should have consider in screening the new ICO's that could detect from scam ICO's to continue.

Same here. There are lots of crypto related forum but this is so far the best and the most popular. I hope that this forum will have a tighter security. They should have KYC or 2FA to avoid account getting hacked. It is easy to steal someone's account in this forum if you know the owner's password. If you have 2FA, even though someone knows your password, he wouldn't be able to log in because he will be needing another code for the 2FA.

Once a man, twice a child!
Bitcointalk may have the advantage of being a pathfinder forum for cryptocurrency discussions but there are other good sites like it too littered across the globe. May be they don't have much traffic yet.

As for dissemination of crypto information, I think Twitter and telegram channels are very much relevant and have a wide audience reach. Most of the ICOs and airdrops I have come across have been through those channels, not even from BTT.

I think the ban on advertising ICO projects on social networking sites is due to political factors. It is a protest that has a big impact on the Crypto market. but some of the projects are still being advertised on some social networking sites like facebook and twitter. The prohibition is not so strict and we do not need to worry.

Of course this forum is the best market to any projects related to crypto's and ICO, there's no other forum close as far as community members. Lots of knowledgeable members, you can even find people busting scams left and right. But there are other social medias, like youtube and sort of media blogging sites that you can promote a project. Facebook is also a good platform, I guess you forgot that they already lift crypto ads bans. Remedy the situations? scammers can't be stop, what we can to protect ourselves is DYOR and used common sense.

The are lot of crypto forum actually, the visitors and users of these forums are still potential investors of an ICO but bitcointalk.org is definitely he biggest community that even just making a signature campaign in this forum alone will get the word out. You can cancel all the social media if you like but still you miss those users there as it adds up the hype Smiley

In fact, through social media, we more easily get the attention of viewers, Facebook has many active users in the world, and Facebook prohibits cryptocurrency.

Well, the worst possibility that we cannot avoid, what if all social media prohibits cryptocurrency. We can't blame him. We are not victims in this case.

But we need to know, there are many well-known products that currently exist, and are well known before advertising on social media exists.
