What is up with the lack of diversity in the "Bitcoin Foundation?"

White folks are basically claiming control of the BTC protocol?

Gonna turn other folks off, dontcha think?

Looks like the rich are getting richer.

Open racism towards white people will be accounted for in your future. You are helping make non-whites look bad.

Bitcoin Foundation is better this way. Selection should be made simply on merit basis.

I don't want any people with IQ level of 35, just because they are non-white or female.

(And I am non-white myself).

Most BTC users are currently white males, so what. Diversity will come more over time.

Nobody forces anyone to donate to the foundation. If some people want to fill their pockets, let them. Same as nobody forces anyone to recognize them as an authority or the voice of bitcoin, if they want to feel important and kiss each other's butts all day long, why should we protest?

I feel we should just be ignoring the Bitcoin Foundation. The more drama we start, the more legitimacy we give them.
You don't say?

So much big talk, so little knowledge. Op, don't listen to people who just found out about bitcoin and think they know something. Roll Eyes

@Beef Supreme Let me attempt to actually answer your question. There is a lack of diversity in the bitcoin economy and in the foundation. I hope that as it becomes more mainstream and easier that more women and other groups will come in.
But white folks, nor anyone else is in charge of bitcoin. No mater your race, you have to compete on price just like everyone else. It is also not true that this is somehow the rich getting richer. That is what is happening in the world economy and in the US, based on fiat currency. No other currency offers a poor person in Africa the chance to directly compete with the super-rich. Besides. Your only looking at English speakers. In all but a few countries whiteness does not even compute.
If you have any ideas about how to increase bitcoin use by underrepresented groups please post them. It is a solvable problem.

Oh please, not the racist card  Undecided

What's next, we need more women in the Bitcoin foundation? More gingers? More homosexuals? More Jews?

How about we stop giving a rat's ass about people's skin or hair color, gender, sexual preference, religion, ethnic background, or whatever retarded property you come up with to base your retarded discrimination claim upon. And instead, just take the most skilled, trustworthy, dedicated, intelligent, eloquent people to promote Bitcoin, no matter how white or black or green they are.

I could not have said it better. I am from Germany and this gender debate seems to be endless... And when we would have exactly 50% women in the management, color, nationality etc. would be next, for sure.

People who insist on quotes for "minorities" are the real sexists, racists, and so on.

They're a bunch of scam artists. Self appointed and donation funded but no actions. It's like the funds are donated only to keep them alive for the what if.

True I would like to see more action from them towards doing productive projects
