Afternoon Guys,

Question about BTC gambling Wink

Is it regulated in the same way traditional online casinos and gambling centers are regulated, which accept fiat for payment? Or do the rules not apply..

Much appreciated Cool
There are no specific laws about gambling with bitcoin. The common sense approach is to assume if it is illegal with fiat its illegal with bitcoin and if its legal with fiat its legal with bitcoin.

Yeah the UK has become a bit strict requiring a license, I noticed this when I was blocked from a few sites and researched why this was and found this out.

What sites are those exactly?I've never seen or heard of any being blocked but most countries are strict on gambling in the sense that they need regulating and require the appropriate liscences etc.

is it illegal for USA users to transfer bitcoins to gambling sites?
Don't know any sites which currently blocks deposits of bitcoins for US clients except for Satoshidice which did in the past.

is it illegal for USA users to transfer bitcoins to gambling sites?
Not sure but if you read terms of service of most of the gambling/dice sites, they will state that  people located in  US are not allowed to use their service.
Gambling online is not illegal for the user. It is illegal for the Operators
the gambling site is shut down and money frozen.

In certain states its illegal and there its illegal for both the gambler and the operator.

I have placed couple of wagers with Bitcoin this year through Nitrogen and Directbet and this thing worked beautifully. No verifications, no limits, no hassle, no taxes, in and out and done!
I was delighted how easy it was! Smiley

I think it depends on which countries does these operate.
If it is a strong country then i think most of them should be registered.
But in other countries as far as i know bitcoin is not legal to use so might be gambling sites are unregistered.

I am sure US is a strong country and still doesn't have control over majority of the bitcoin gambling sites . Almost all countries require registration and licensing but it becomes difficult for them to execute their legal system against sites accepting only bitcoin.
Can someone explain why gambling is illegal in America?

Gambling is not illegal in the entire America. Its only illegal online on sites which are unlicensed , but also some form of gambling is illegal for everyone. There is enough gambling in places like Vegas .

There are still sites after services like Pokerstars shutting down , that have opened up. ACR is one example . Even some of the states have now lifted laws against such gambling sites and are relaxing it.

The government does not want foreigners taking away Americans hard earned cash. Only Las Vegas and Atlantic City may do that.  Cheesy

Afaik, most bitcoin gambling sites are unregistered in any nation or any laws but still it is in operation. Same with bitcoin, though the virtual currency is regulated in some countries, there are other countries that do allow their citizens to use bitcoin as it is.

keep in mind that many of them are running a small business, authority will not bother with those

you can play on those without problem, at best you can mix your coins or find some of those casino that accept cryptonight altcoin, which would be even better and use a random vpn to register

remember that bitcoin itself isn't regulated in some country or illegal, yet people use it

Suppose it also comes down to why your using and to what extremity (example: small gambling business: Okay/SilkRoad: NOT OKAY).
