Anonymity is only part of of the picture now. Some reputable online casinos who started accepting bitcoin recently requires you to send them copy of your ID to check even though you are bitcoin customer.
I would imagine KYC is a progressing trend and we are lucky that most of Bitcoin exclusive casinos don't do that.

The internet got big because of porn, followed by much more applications. Gambling could be the thing that pushes Bitcoin to much more users.
I myself for example have never done any online gambling except for Bitcoin (and a few Doge but that's all cryptocurrencies). Even now I would not even consider getting my creditcard for any gambling website.

These people are called "ill gamblers" in the sense they cannot recover from it, they have lost everything from gambling and for them gambling with bitcoin makes no difference until they lose it all in the end. I hope no one from us all here ever try anything like "ill gamblers" as that is the most bad thing it can happen to one healthy person in their life. We should stick to gambling as a hobby and not as a way of becoming rich.
