@mem - i agree with you that you need to run the math.
Especially before you deposit and trap your deposit as well as bonus.

In terms of the jackpot i dont agree.
But as you said thats a different discussion i look forward to having on another thread :-)

come spam my gambling list thread, or even better fire up your own Smiley

@mem - thanks for weighing in here.
The basics of wagering versus deposit still get confused by many players.
Your example explains this clearly but I would like to bring up a different game.
Slots
The house still has an edge but there is the chance for jackpot.
As a slots player the bonus extends your play on the machine.
The house edge remains the same but your chance to hit a jackpot increases.
This is obviously a different example to single payout games like blackjack and a different player as well.

Hrmm not sure I follow you, the chance to collect an active jackpot (some sites gaol the jackpot until certain conditions are met) is always the same.
The average payout when including the jackpot grows with the jackpot.

Slots are really no different at all to a roulette game, except roulette rarely (satoshiroulette runs jackpots) have jackpots.

Best to stay on topic for coinhulk's thread though, I just wanted to point out that deposit bonuses are all to often a trap and not a bonus.

eg in 88roulette example, when all is said an done your playing against a house edge of 8% which is far higher than even an american roulette table and definitely higher than a euro table.

Sometimes there are legitimate bonuses, but you really need to run the maths first to ensure your not about to trap your BTC.

Wagering will always be a discussion point when it comes to casinos.

@badjacks - that is why most casinos do not allow bonus wagering on roulette.
Red/black same time betting is generally regarded as outside the scope of normal play.

There are 2 important questions here:

1- what games do you like playing?
As mentioned its a very different situation with roulette and with slots.

2 - what is your objective in taking the bonus?
If your aim is to meet the absolute minimum of wagering requirements and be able to withdraw a marginal profit, thats mostly been discussed above.
Or if you view the bonus as giving you more play for less buyin and you want to win money by actually playing the games.

Hi FanEagle, the whole wagering thing is something I also ran into! On the coinhulk site they have the wagerings for the deals, so check the next time Wink  For 88Roulette its like 40x bonus+deposit, .. let me figure this out, in your case your deposit was 16mBTC and your bonus 16mBTC (100%). That means that you have to place bets worth 1280 mBTC (40 x 32mBTC). That sounds much but I have an idea. You can place 62 times 10mBTC on red and black to meet the wagering requirements. The only issue is, that you can hit the 0 (green) Cheesy Every time you hit the 0 you will lose 20mBTC. From a mathematical view you should lose 40mBTC and keep 60mBTC.
Tell us how it went Smiley Good Luck!

IMHO deposit bonuses never work in a players favour, they are simply a way of making a casino with a high house edge seem more alluring.
Some players do have good runs with these types of bonuses though.

lets use 88Roulette.

100 units deposited.
+ 100 Bonus units.

200 units total.

Amount to be wagered before you can withdraw:

8000 units.

Now lets say we decide to grind out roulette so we can withdraw.

To work out the cost:

( 8000 units / 100 )  * 2.7 house edge = 216 units return to the house via the house edge.

Now keep in mind you do not have 8000 units you only have 200 units total but you are expected to play 8000 units worth of rounds.

Depositing 100 units and getting a bonus of another 100 units you end losing 216 units once you have played enough to be able to withdraw.

Note how you lose more than you deposit... well you cant actually but that leads into the next trap. You bust out and future deposits are bound by the previous deposit bonus (roll overs) meaning you cannot withdraw.

So really its quite the opposite of coin hulking, why not call it "coin quick sand" as your coins go in, get stuck and rarely come back out.

Good point about the betting every number except one. It does make sense but to me it seems like as if you were gambling on 2 different teams playing each other to win on a sports bet. It just seems like if this kinda of thing was allowed everyone would be doing it. I could be way off, I'm very interested to hear from some casinos about this.

I think it is no problem to play this strategy. Because it only works if you have won some coins before and your goal is to come though the wagering. It's like betting on every number except one. I also know no other site where roulette counts in the wagering requirements.

Firstly, that's great news coinhulk I really like the idea of all the bonus terms being right there for everyone to see. Takes away a lot of confusion when it comes to rollover.

A member above me posted that you could just place bets on red and black at the same time to make it through the bonus. Is this true? It seems like the casino would see your betting history and simply deny you any bonus for doing so. I'm not positive either way but would like to know if this actually is considered to be a fair way to beat the rollover. Anyone done this before?

Ok judging by the previous 2 posters, I'd like to see on Coinhulk the rollovers needed for each bonus.  A bonus of like 1 BTC would mean nothing if the rollover is 25x or something, and a smaller bonus could be "better," since it has a smaller rollover.

Can I be CoinHulked too?
Deposited 16 mBTC on 88bitcoinroulette.com and won 100 mBTC in a couple of lucky spins!
In the pic you can't see the past numbers just because I loaded the page in firefox(I was playing on chrome) but there you go.

Bad news: I wanted to withdraw the winnings but it says: you have wagered 55 of 1268... so that means I need to win like what? 100 btc before cashing out? I don't understand.
