Last time I sold the BCH too cheap because of all the FUD around it.
I thought BCH would crash right away, but it rose to allmost 0.5 BTC.
Woah buddy, BCH has never reached $2000, best i know BCH was trading around $500 last time I checked. IMO the 8MB block size is overkill and not really gonna work out.

OP, talking about the segwit2x fork, it's still not sure if it will happen right now I think we should look forward to segwit and let's not worry about the 2x fork just yet.
I have never seen it at $2000 also, but it was trading at $800 which is not bad at all

Woah! That escalated quickly. As far as I know BCH never reached 0.5 BTC. Do you have source for this? If what you say is true, i may be interested in BCH.

The peaks on Bitfinex were .26 BCH/BTC and .244 BCH/BTC. The recent highs were about the same on HITBTC. It may have spiked higher on some of the Asian exchanges, but I don't have a feed for them, nor can I trade on them.

Remember, it's a pretty illiquid market, so it could just be pump-and-dumped like other altcoins. It would take a bit more money considering the value and market cap, but it could be done. Buyer beware...

Hey guys, any member who could explain what will be happening when Bitcoin will be  having a hard fork for the second time around?
Will it create a panic selling or a panic buying? haha Huh Grin Grin

Thank you for anyone who will answer this.
What did happen when bitcoin had the hard fork first time around? The results will be the same or to be very honest the impact will be even lower than the previous one because so many people are aware of this trick. True bitcoin holders will stay patient even in worse situations also.

Because later there are 2 types altcoin from bitcoin hard fork

If you ask me, I am 90% sure that another anticipated fork (Segwit2x fork) won't be happening. The major reason is that any such fork is not needed currently in Bitcoin ecosystem.
But even if such fork happens, it won't gonna create any panic. Now reason to this claim is that Segwit fork is happening in good faith unlike BCH fork which was to cater ego of some specific group. So this fork will get good support from community since it will be necessity for eradicating high fees scenario. Hence people will hold to their BTC and resultant would be that Bitcoin prices won't go in panic.

I'm sure it will create panic selling and prices will go down as the day of the fork approaches, the cryptocurrency world will rock and a lot of altcoin's prices will go down as well but once the fork is over, the price of bitcoin will skyrocket and will reach another all time high. Well this is just my prediction ofcourse  Cheesy

Segwit is activated but next part of segwit activation is hard fork to double the block size from current 1 mb. However there is also some rumor that after segwit activation bitcoin core team is now standing against block size increase so we might have next hardfork and split of bitcoin again on november. We will than have three bitcoin bitcoin cash, bitcoin with segwit and bitcoin with segwit2x. The one that will have majority of community support will remain as bitcoin (BTC).

If you hold both and one would take over the other, no money was lost.

Last time I checked, BCH was trading at $500 and not $2000. It didn't even hit $1500 so I'm assuming you might have misread some numbers?

OP. this should be in the Speculation section of the forum. As for your question, it still depends. BCH is trading quite well after the fork, so does BTC. I see no reason for it to drop since traders are always making money off of these uncertainties in the market and so does the upcoming fork in November.

We have already seen a few forks now.
I think it will be the same: After the fork there will be two seperate chains. Again!
And their combined value will be higher than the price it was before.
I suppose many people have already drawn the same conclusion than me.
And those will buy before the fork. My guess is the price will increas to the date of the fork.

It will create panic buying because the price of bitcoin will pump after that and the fork is about activating the segwit2x so the bitcoin will have a lightning network that will enable to have a fast and convenient transaction for bitcoin and that is why a lot of people right now are buying bitcoin and preparing for that event that can easily double your money or investment.

The people that didn't dump their BCH yet will be able to get some extra BTC that were unexpected. I did not dump it yet because having to set up the wallets it's really a pain in the ass, but im looking forward to dumping it all, until then, I hope it keeps pumping, that just means higher profits pretty much for free. I don't expect the BCH pump to be viable for much longer.

As far as segwit2x goes, we will need to wait for november to see what they have on mind, but segwit2x is a scam, even bigger than BCH which at least had replay protection.

To save rehashing too much of a conversation that's already been had, there are already a few threads on the proposed November fork.  This one is reasonably informative and this one slightly more so.

It's likely there are still many developments yet materialise, so everyone is taking their best guess at the moment as to what's going to happen.  Expect a few twists and turns as it all unfolds.  Don't take anything as a guarantee at this stage, with one notable exception:

Whatever happens, just remember that as long as you are responsible for your own private keys, you are in control of which chain you want to use (although it may potentially involve you using another piece of wallet software if you currently use an SPV client and you feel strongly enough about it to decide that you don't wish to follow the longest chain).

Thank you for anyone who will answer this.

People learned from the previous hard fork. They will hold more bitcoins thus more buy orders or pump will happen. Those bitcoins will be free money once the hard fork happens. I am betting there will be a price hike as we near November.

Yeah! you're right, many learn from the past hard fork which actually did not give a threat to them. That fact is that they used that hard fork to earn more bitcoin using BCH.
