Be the reason someone smiles today
This percent is quite normal for a bearish market. When market will become bullish it might decrease to less then 40% as it was in 2017.

In bearish periods it's better to keep your funds in BTC as price will drop less than most altcoins. In a bullish market you can bet on some altcoins with strong projects behind (eventually not being already pumped).

For now market is still bearish, so Btc looks more safe.

In the past few months, we have seen a decline in the crypto market. However, only two days ago, the market has gradually stabilized. Market capitalization of BTC still leads with over 51%. With these figures we still believe that the king of the Crypto market named BTC still dominates on its throne. However, to be able to achieve its purpose, the BTC must continue to regain the style, the confidence of investors.

For those of you that think that Bitcoin is going down this article proves that it's still the strongest in the cryptocurrency world. Not since December 2017 has Bitcoin been such a dominant part of cryptocurrency.

54% bitcoin dominance to other cryptocurrency can still be called huge. Even though it drops significantly we still cant deny the fact that 54% is still a large number for cryptocurrency, and i think that bitcoin dominance will not go below 50% that is for sure especially eth right now is decline to the point it is hard for it to reach 300usd.

-snip-
Bitcoin is now replacing weak altcoins and many investors are transferring their assets to bitcoin.

Nah, technically if the bitcoin dominance is getting low it means many people transferred in Alts, also it means that bitcoin's price is getting low while the others is getting high. If the price of bitcoin will pump then bitcoin dominance will also increase, and vice versa.

To be honest, Bitcoin dominance shows nothing more than the market cap of recent times and that can also be faked by due to the equation of market capitalization. However, the sign is good for the BTC holders nonetheless. But, it also means that the Altcoins are seeing great slump right now due to people moving from ALTs to BTC in current market.

It is undeniable that BTC is the oldest and biggest coin from the beginning to the present. nothing can be bigger than this coin. The sudden increase in the Bitcoin dominance index which coincides with a surge in Tether volumes has shown that investors are becoming reluctant to take high-risk and high-return trading, largely due to a lack of confidence in the market's short-term trends.
I think this is a good thing.

The bearish market makes Altcoins lose a lot of prices that make Bitcoin increasingly dominate. And this is truly unique because even though Bitcoin is only its own, it can surpass the domination of thousands of Altcoins.

About fifty dour perfect from the cryptocurrency world is not a bad thing. Knowing that this almost a half portion is not a small thing to bit in the name pf cryptocurrency or in digial world. It is where people choose to use and patronise. In the other not so half, altcoins are still sharing this forty six percent of it.

Its normal to see bitcoin dominance getting more stronger, all investors eventually will be back to bitcoin, the reason is because bitcoin got a real implementation, while alt coin just the place to look for profit and bitcoin also the most stable crypto for investment, and bitcoin not going down, but the december 2017 hype is too big, so actually now we are still in a good price

This confirms Bitcoin sovereignty in the cryptomarket. Bitcoin holds the key to all altcoins and invariable without Bitcoin may implies the end of altcoins as well. Bitcoin is the first of its kind but Bitcoin dominance will only lead to doom of altcoins.

This is a very interesting subject - will the dominance grow further or did it already reach the top of its descending channel? Because the long term trend of BTC dominance is down...

Bitcoin is a distributed, worldwide, decentralized digital money. Bitcoins are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever: there is no government, company, or bank in charge of Bitcoin. In the first quarter (Q1), most major digital currencies took a beating. The world's largest cryptocurrency, lost half its value in Q1. Nevertheless, bitcoin still did better than most altcoins.

I myself personally sold all my ETH and XRP in order to buy BTC as I notice both of them is falling much faster than BTC. When the right time comes I'll buyback them at a cheaper price.

You could probably skip XRP, personally I think it's value is limited and I don't see it coming back strong again.

Alts have suffered, just look at Ethereum right now, its below $300 again and might hit $250-$260, while Bitcoin hasn't suffered damage and currently still trading sideways. Yeah, perhaps investors are liquidating their assets and consolidating on Bitcoin. Altcoins bagholders are shifting to bitcoin because they know they will be rekt if they continue to hold shitcoins and coins for pump-and-dump purposes only. The whole game is changing again!!!

before the innovation of decentralised applications like ethereal that came up with applications that enabled smart contracts and has through that means populated the blockchain market with loads of projects coming up with their own tokens and thereby reducing the dominance of the bitcoin in the market, bitcoin has been predominant in the cryptocurrency market.

During bear markets traders tend to hide in BTC and then move back into alts when the bulls return.

So by monitoring the Bitcoin dominance, you can better understand the broader market sentiment.

That is very true because bitcoin has maintained its dominance over the cryptocurrency market for quite sometime now it still holds more than 50% dominance over the cryptocurrency market.
