All I can share if you happen to stop by the Philippines is that there is a payment system called coins.ph that you can use to pay bitcoin using the said app. You can also convert your bitcoins to Philippine pesos using the same app as well. You can also go to the Pilipinas forum here as there are much more many Bitcoin vets that can give you more information on how you can use your bitcoins on certain establishments that these people frequent.

Try to go on Singapore, it is a free country who regulates bitcoin willingly due to adoption.

In Southeast Asia, Singapore is more advanced compared to other countries when it comes to development and technology.

And cryptocurrency in their country are popular because of how educated they are when it comes to dealing in the internet and the market so it is not a surprise anymore so try to go to Singapore.
Yes, in Southeast Asia, Singapore is a country that is 'very friendly' with Bitcoin...
There have been many crypto projects such as successful exchanges and originating from Singapore. *we can say that Singapore is the Silicon Valley of Southeast Asia

As a matter of fact, the bitcoin and the digital money in Southeast Asia is getting greater in which we see various nations in Southeast Asia that are tolerating the bitcoin and cryptographic money as one of their elective cash and that is actually a decent side of it since they are acknowledging right now the various ways on how they will have the option to help it into their financial development.

Dear all,

I'm currently cycling all around Southeast Asia (www.jackandiva.com - beta) and looking to spend/trade some BTC along the way (it's the only money we have to fund the trip!). Not much can be found on http://coinmap.org for the remote parts of S.E.A. and neither on https://localbitcoins.com.... do you guys know of places which accept BTC or people that want to buy? Any other suggestions?

We're really keen to pay for things in BTC and help promote it if possible!

Thanks!  Smiley

Where are you now !! Of course it's fun to go around Southeast Asia by cycling, of course it takes a very long time, but of course it's fun.
for my country Bitcoin has not been recognized as a legal means of payment so you will have difficulty if you want to shop, you better exchange it to fiat before traveling in my country. actually there is an exchange to fiat online but you have to use a local bank and there's no way you can do it.

Bitcoin in SEA back then really wasn't something but Bitcoin right now is a thing almost all people are talking about, you can see it in several countries that often users in the forum are from Asia, whether it be from Philippines, India, Singapore, etc. What I found fascinating with this thread is that we've brought it up again and we can definitely see the huge difference of how few only people knew about Bitcoin back then and to compare it today wherein everyone is investing, doing trade, mining and etc. You can see the huge growth of BTC here in SEA and will definitely grow more in the future.

though not mainstream, awareness in cryptocurrency is a bit common in our country in the Philippines. there even some banks (especially in the capital) that accept cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawal. We even have crypto platform and apps that let you convert local currency to some crypto and use them to pay bills, remit, etc.
Glad you brought up our country. And well yes, Philippines also has a good approach towards cryptocurrency. As gwaposakon here have said, we have here a mobile application for crypto and allows you to do several transactions. There are also some small merchants here who I think accept bitcoin as payment. If it happens that you'll be able to travel here in the Philippines, maybe you can also experience what we're saying. Travel safe!

I come from a country in Southeast Asia and I feel the development of Bitcoin in my country is getting faster. Several people from
my neighborhood started collecting Bitcoin, after seeing Bitcoin's extraordinary performance this year. Indeed, countries in Southeast
Asia are included in the third world countries, so seeing Bitcoin is an opportunity to get rich. And I admit there were some people from
my country who bought Bitcoin before 2017, now the economy is getting better. I believe Bitcoin can be a way for countries in Southeast
Asia to improve their economy.

wow, sounds like a really interesting trip. Best of luck in your journeys and hopefully you are able to only use BTC along the way. That would be amazing.
This is a good thing for everyone. We should be supporting and encouraging each other regardless of where we come from. Bitcoin in Southeast Asia is slowly getting recognition and attention by the people. Here in my country, bitcoin has been a great trend for the youths wherein most of the time, students of colleges are the ones who uses it. There's nothing wrong about having an idea on crypto, it is actually essential if you believe that someday, at some point, crypto will conquer the world and everyone will regret not paying attention to it.

Hoping that his cryptocurrency journey will become successful because with that statement, I really understand how passionate and hard-working he is in making transactions with BTC.

I just like his courage, willingness, and how he trust bitcoin so much when it comes to investment in the long run

We just need to support him so that he continue what he is doing in crypto world.

I'm from Indonesia, many areas here have natural beauty. Please come here, but unfortunately for crypto as a means of payment, maybe it doesn't exist legally until now. Because I have never met it myself, maybe if you come here reply sir @sapta above has given a little help.

Hello  Smiley

We launched our remittance service cash2vn.com for the Vietnamese market in 2015 under the umbrella of Vietnam's first Bitcoin Exchange BitcoinVN.

Our service enables senders to pay via Cryptocurrency while the Vietnam-based recipients receive their funds in Vietnamese Dong on their bank account.

The service has seen an uptick in usage especially among the Digital Nomad crowd, but also among Vietnam-based freelancers and agencies for which it is a convenient way to get paid from overseas clients without going through the hassle Paypal and other services often cause.

Hi,

We are from VBTC, Vietnam's oldest Bitcoin Trading Platform .

We provide since 2014 an open-orderbook trading platform for the Vietnamese Dong vs. Bitcoin; as funding/withdrawal methods we currently accept any local bank wires, but also offer a service to deposit/withdraw cash in Vietnam's two major cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (which might come handy especially for the unbanked and/or visitors/travellers to Vietnam who do not possess a local bank account).  Smiley

Thank u for ur advice. The BTC price now is so cheap and almost can not cover the electricity fee. But there should still have many BTC mining farms in SE, what do I want to do is to provide the BTC mining machine and maintenance service to them, but can not find website or groups to know about the mining environment in SE. If you know some groups, can let me know!
Are you looking for a country that offer cheap electricity to perform mining at low cost? Are you ready move your mining stuff and establish in a new country? The idea looks strange although it's possible.
With the actual price drop, and due to the global Corona attack, mining business is no more profitable and better to put your rigs in pause mode until overpass the crisis. The whole market is crashing down mate.
As far as i can tell, solo mining isn't that profitable and you have to join mining pool for better earning.
