Price flat last 24 hrs, but the overall and long term trend is certainly up. I hope bitcoin will reach $2000 in the year 2017. With price rising, more and more people join the party, pushing price even higher.
Does it really take an increase in price for people to notice bitcoin and it's potentials? I don't know how could people only see the price and care for it and not seeing what bitcoin truly is, but it's a start and we should see more in 2017 even we might have a million new comers to crypto by the end of this year!
It does because people become excited and aware of it. Then when put in News, there will be information spreads. It catches New Investors. That is the purpose of it. Especially if news reports are written in a positive way, building trust to the subject being reported. News is no different than advertisement if used correctly

If they don't have gains they will ignore it. If they have huge gain, they will cherish it LOL. 
Before they are treaten bitcoin is scam or use only for illegal activities. now i think they are regretting because the price for bitcoin was hit $1k value from 3 years ago.. and now more people are knows about bitcoin that can attract more people to use bitcoin that is why the price right now are still staying at $1k value because of news outside..

1000$ is quite like a magical number. As per exemple, here, this is more or less the minimal monthly wage, so 1000$ as a true meaning here, as it means that one month of work for most of the population is worth 1BTC.

Interesting rise, definitely, but when I red the Market Watch article, I saw there is a link leading to this article. I do not think that this is a good idea to lure people with such crazy numbers. This article has no self-criticism and for a quick read like I did, the high probability of a dump is not well placed, if even placed.
At least we are seeing some positive reporting for a while now, because most reporting has been backed by fiat shilling. I guess there are not a lot

With all the events that happen last year, and the current companies who are excitedly adopting Bitcoin plus those new people coming in, I think Bitcoin will continue its uptrend path. It is also stated in one of the article of coindesk that Bitcoin is looking for a new All Time High this year and it is very possible to happen.
We expect even more, and surely there is more of this to come in coming time this year. I don't know if why people around here are saying that news and blogs are just talking about the price but not as a potential currency, but i feel they just say what they see, that is what they do, if they see everyone using it as an investment which it is these days then they will probably show that site for taking the attention of their viewers for sure, why would they talk about a factor of bitcoin which is not yet widely discussed?
Judging by all that and the way they have kept it at 1k. There will be the sell off as soon as the new blood/fomo begins in the next few days. Rinse and repeat.
It's good to see bitcoin mentioned all over the media, seeing/reading about bitcoin on the news channels/blogs will bring a lot of new folks into bitcoin. i hope bitcoin surges above $1.5k.
Bitcoin Hype strength is renewed. Coming from Op's post. Bitcoin is getting more popular now, for the fact that it actually breaks $1000. People excitement is also refreshed and recharged. So I think Bitcoin price will continue to increase this year 2017. Those articles are the proof
The price has a direct correlation with many articles written on the major news sites who speaks about bitcoins. The price is already reached the 1000USD and people love story with good content, so they follow the trend. But, that gives a lot of free publicity to the currency and more people will be curious and start to use it soon 
Bitcoin finally demolishing the $1000 barrier isn't something they can ignore. It shows as I hear people around me talking about Bitcoin having touched $1000 for the first time where I then explain that it's the second time. I then get the question of how many coins I have, but I always say that I don't hold anything. You never know how much Bitcoin will increase in value in the future. That's why I prefer to not say anything to people I know.
Yeah i agree, things are looking great for the coming year, i just cant see how bitcoin can lose value again, even if a big hack happened bitcoin and the community is far more mature now and could deal with it easily, in my opinion.

Atlast they are already paying attention to bitcoin and the price of it does really help on getting the attention of people which makes now a mark.Bitcoins adoption now is unstopable and we should expect that this would be a good year to bitcoin and hopefully bitcoin users would increase even more.
I think this because it is influenced by the price of bitcoin is very high at this time. Well, whoever it is, if they know that bitcoin has a very high price, they are definitely going to find out about it.

Well, as expected. Bitcoin is really popular right now. Thats why i expect it will be on news. Bitcoin is now conquering the markets. We all can see that. The price says it all. Bitcoin is operated by big whales. Thanks to them, the bitcoin craze never stops.
Bitcoin has been popular for years where it continues to become more popular under serious investors. It's not that it has started to be popular right now.That being said, these articles will make sure that we probably might experience a decent influx of get rich quick minded people in the coming weeks/months.
If that helps to get the price to a new all time high this year, then it's surely fine with me, but I also prefer the price to be sustainable in the way that it won't get dumped down so easily.
