I had been hoarding some bitcoins for a long time. But today I was forced to sell that bitcoin for family needs. Tried a lot but could not manage the required money. Maybe nearing a bull market I sold my bitcoins. I am having a lot of trouble selling this bitcoin I have built up over the years. I am grateful to this bitcoin forum because if it wasn't for this bitcoin forum today I might not have found a solution to my need.

I don't get the point of your forum thread. Are you complaining about something? Why did you sold BTC for USDT? Can't you sell directly BTC for fiat money? What kind of app is this? It's great to hear that Bitcoin helped you in times of need. It's always a good idea to save some money for a rainy day. You shouldn't regret about selling your BTC near a bull market. I think that the real bull market will come after 2024.
There will be more price turbulence in the BTC markets and all cryptocurrency markets in general.

It is a challenge for us to be able to hold Bitcoin for a long time but on the one hand we still need money to meet our needs, especially if we don't have a steady job, we often end up selling the Bitcoin we have collected to meet our various needs. Hopefully you can go back to buying Bitcoin and holding it for a longer period of time.

It is unfortunate that you have to sell your bitcoins to provide for your family but for me it was the best decision you have made. However, it's important to have a backup plan in case an emergency like this occurs. Investing in bitcoins can be a good long-term investment strategy, however, the value can fluctuate a lot. Don't forget that financial risk should always be considered before deciding to invest in bitcoin or any other asset. Hopefully your family's needs are met and you can continue to rebuild your bitcoin portfolio in the future.

in reality, you are not the only member here on this forum wjo was helped by this platform greatly. all of us here agrees that each individual here on this forum has countless successful experiences in terms of bitcoin alone, and although some may have failed, it isn't to the point where they lost miserably. i myself was greatly helped not only in terms of money, also in experience, knowledge and kore importantly I learned to be more self sufficient. nowadays people are too reliant on others in which, it became a target for bad people and they become victims. this platform greatly changed peoples lives and pave so many opportunities that one could ever imagine.

Maybe OP might not be able to hold and enjoy the additional profit. Bitcoin saved over the year have helped OP come out of an unexpected trouble. What for we're working is our family, when we were able to fulfill our family's need it gives utmost satisfaction. Bitcoin have gained importance as an investment among the common people who doesn't have much technical knowledge.

I've lost a big part of my savings gambling, however in many critical situation my savings have helped me. We need to be thankful to the person who had introduced us to bitcoin and made us believe in it. In every bitcoin users life atleast once bitcoin savings could've helped in critical situation.

OP you see, emergency is what we can not tell when it will occur. We are not praying for such to happen but we just need to be at alert and prepared at any point in time. Funds whether available or not are meant to be spent. You should be happy you had such savings available to spend to settle the urgent need that came up at that point in time. Bitcoin was initially invented by satoshi to be spent as cash as said by the previous poster so therefore you spending your bitcoin was for a purpose which money would still do.

I have had similar experience months past where I had to do the needful as the pending payment I was expecting did not drop in my account in time and too I can not start initiating the process of cash withdrawal from my other investments so I opted to sell my bitcoin to sort out the emergency at hand with plans of replacing it when my pending credit alert drops in and fortunately enough, it dropped that night and I bought back the volume of bitcoin I sold.

Saving of bitcoin sometimes help too. When the need arises, do the needful to sort out yourself with it.

I think that the point of holdings is to save money and use it in case of emergency. Never regret spending your savings on something if it was really necessary.

It's clear that it wasn't easy to part with something you've been accumulating for so long, but I believe that you still have plenty of time to buy more bitcoin.

Never regret if it's for a good cause especially for my beloved family, for me family is the most valuable of all. Never mind bitcoin because I will also sacrifice my life if it's for the family that I care about.
and you have to thank bitcoin, because bitcoin has helped your family problems and that's the most important thing. And you can also start all over again if you have extra money to buy bitcoin gradually because bitcoin is for the future and you can buy it anytime before the bitcoin price reaches a very high price.

You did what you had to do and you have the means to solve your problem, it's not your fault that you have to get out/sell early, I'm sure any one of us in this forum would do the same thing. The only lesson that I can pick up from this is that you have to increase your means of making money and not just concentrate on one thing just because it gave you good fortune in the past for relying on it.

a regret. what we plan for the long term must eventually be forced to use. It will be a tough choice, but you do the right thing because when you're in a situation that needs it. then sell the easiest assets to become money to cover your family's needs.
Bitcoin is very instant to convert to fiat. and you get a decent solution. I pray you can build your investment again gradually. I wish you more luck.

What is important is that BTC you hold lives up to its purpose. A currency is always useful to buy something you need. Anyone who holds coins would also do the same if they have to spend them in times of danger.

Since you have created this thread, maybe you should as well just share what danger you are encountering. It would probably help users here understand what made you create this thread or if you just wanna unload it out of your chest.

Are we really going to start threads every time we sell $300 worth of bitcoin? What's the purpose of this thread?
If I sell $1k of BTC tomorrow, should I start a thread saying: thank you for allowing me to use bitcoin in the time of need, dear bitcointalk forum?

If every bitcointalk user who sells started making threads about it, we'd be drowning in spam here. Congratulations, OP! You did it! When you buy some BTC again, don't start a thread about it.

Although at this time it is not the right time to sell Bitcoin and I am very familiar with the conditions of the needs you are talking about. You should not need to sell all the Bitcoin that you have and simply sell as needed, so that when Bitcoin gets a rally at a higher price next year, you also have assets that can be utilized.

That is why savings are also considered important for people, so when your urgent needs do not need to sell Bitcoin you have, but because this is related to difficulties and maybe you need money by forced to sell Bitcoin you have. If this experience is in me personally, then I will sell half of the bitcoin that I have and try to do other ways to meet those needs.

Op sorry for the unexpected expenses, but those are part of the human nature. Nobody keeps money for un-necessarily expenses like hospital bill and any other bills that you can't avoid. There is no need for you to show the forum the amount of coins sold out for your family expenses. Yes the forum educated you to secure a little amount of money to spend. You can't avoid of selling coins the matter what unless you are doing another business to support yourself and from the way you sounded, you are not doing any other job and that is why you sold you hodling coins. If you must save try to lol for alternative job to pay bills.

After this post of yours I think you might be too mentally broken to sell your investment. But I don't see any mental breakdown here. Why did you invest to exploit it during the crisis? Now if you can't stand by your family in their time of need then this investment will be worthless. You can make such investments many times in the future but if you can't stand by your family in their time of need, no matter how much profit you earn from the investment, it's really worthless.
You hand over this invested money to your family with a smile. And wait for a better time so that you can invest again.  Best wishes to you and your family.

I even had to sell bigger bitcoins many times than yours, it was a very frustrating feeling because I was expecting to sell it for $100k and I would get a huge amount of money to do these things that I planned. But I also have to sell my bitcoins to use for more necessary cases. Looking at the bright side, without those bitcoins I wouldn't have a solution, so that's more of a blessing than a sad thing.

Don't feel bad about it. Your family is more important than your coins. You can make money anytime. Maybe you will even make more money than you previously had but god forbid if anything bad happens to your family members, like death, there is no going back from there. You did the right thing. If you somehow miss this bullmarket, you can always wait for the next one. You may miss a bull market but bitcoin is here to stay and that is the most important thing to remember.

I also do what you do because the family's needs are the most important and we must fulfil them immediately, especially if they are primary needs. Indeed it is sad when you have to sell bitcoins at such a low price but we can't do anything about it. But we have to be sure that we can still collect more bitcoins and don't make it a burden. Otherwise, we will just think about it endlessly, keeping us from moving forward.

Maybe we should find another way that we can make money so we can earn extra income. In that way, we can reduce the sale of bitcoins to meet family needs because we can make ends meet through our income.

I have shared USDT sale images here. Actually in the first state I deposit 0.02 bitcoins. But when I want to sell bitcoin p2p the price was slightly lower compared to USDT. That's why I sell Bitcoin by converting it to USDT. I needed 363.89 USDT. That's why I convert 363.89 USD to equivalent Bitcoin.
I see. Yeah, Sometimes I noticed this as well. When I try to sell Bitcoin for fiat. I notice the price is lower than the actual market. Buyers place orders at low prices to avoid high volatility. So, Sellers end up converting their Bitcoin into stable coins like USDT and BUSD.

I didn't get what the trouble was selling your Bitcoin. Didn't you know where to sell? Did you hear of Binance from this forum? Because you said, you are grateful to this forum because you found a solution because of this forum. IDK what did you mean.

I had no problem selling my bitcoins. I sell USDT by converting Bitcoin to USDT because the price of Bitcoin is slightly lower than USDT. And I am grateful to this forum as I have been able to meet my needs by earning from this forum. If this form was not there, I would have had no way out of my predicament.
I guess you get me wrong. You said you had trouble selling your Bitcoin. Didn't you know that you can sell Bitcoin on Binance? In this case, How you got help from this forum? I understand that you have earned Bitcoin from this forum Signature campaign. But I don't think any forum members suggest using centralized exchanges. You can use them if you want to trade. But, Not for holding. You said you were holding your Bitcoin for some time. I suggest using a non-custodial wallet if you're going to hold it next time.

Time Locked wallet is best solution if you want to hold your coins somewhere and keep it safe.

It doesn't matter if it's the only way to solve your family's financial problems.
I have also experienced what you have experienced.
Selling bitcoin holdings that have long been held for urgent needs.

But here we also have to learn how to do financial management well.
Separating between investments that are used for the long term and personal finances that are used for daily needs.

We are close to the 4th Halving and the current price is still quite cheap.
Maybe you will buy it again when you already have other income that can make your family finances stable.
There are still many ways that you can hold Bitcoin again before the halving and bullishness occur.

There is nothing to regret, family needs come first, and no one will sneer at you for selling your own Bitcoin, it is your right to use it in any way.
Your bitcoins are yours.
