I honestly, understand how you feel cause I have to be in that exact situation where I have to sell the BTC I was hoarding weekly while the goal is not achieved due to an unforeseen issue that requires emergency attention.
The good thing about the decision is that it makes something good for the family cause they always come first but that doesn't mean the dream of hoarding BTC is over since the market is yet to make an ATH price.

I had been hoarding some bitcoins for a long time. But today I was forced to sell that bitcoin for family needs. Tried a lot but could not manage the required money. Maybe nearing a bull market I sold my bitcoins. I am having a lot of trouble selling this bitcoin I have built up over the years. I am grateful to this bitcoin forum because if it wasn't for this bitcoin forum today I might not have found a solution to my need.
In a pinch like yours, it might not matter to me if you had to decide to sell the bitcoins you've been hoarding, let alone sell the bitcoins for your own family needs, I think many of us would probably make the same decision if nothing else could we did although this actually made us feel a bit disappointed because we were forced to sell bitcoin at a cheap price and the saddest thing is after you sold it the price of bitcoin slowly rose to the level of $30.4k , but you don't have to regret seeing the market go up after selling your asset because there is still the opportunity to always hoard bitcoin even if you have to buy it at a slightly higher price.

It is unfortunate that you sold your BTC, however you shouldn’t have been regret, you made the right decision, family always comes first no matter what the situation is, we should always help them make their life meaningful. Moreover, it is never too late to recommence again. Set a new goal, prepare a plan, work hard and stick on it until you achieve your aim. Hopefully, you will earn even more BTC than what you sold recently as soon as possible. Otherwise, It is really important to save extra money for sudden events. Life is unpredictable, we don’t know what tomorrow is going to bring for us, that’s why we should be completely prepared for all situations.

Dang, letting go of your bitcoin must've been hella tough, especially when it was about to blow up. But hey, you gotta do what you gotta do for your fam, right? Props to you for finding a solution through that bitcoin forum, that's the beauty of online communities. Remember, bitcoin is just a means to an end, don't get too obsessed with it.

There are more important things in life than just hoarding it. Keep your fam tight and I hope you find some new investment opportunities soon. Keep your mind open and keep learning, dude!

@Op It is a fact that Bitcoin is needed in times of need. If there was no human need, there would be no need to earn. Sold bitcoins to meet family needs I think it's great because you will accumulate bitcoins again because needs will always be around you. But keep some portion of your income ready for later bull market. Because the current situation is near the bull market when you sold bitcoin the price of bitcoin was 28k dollars now the current market price of bitcoin is 30.5k dollars. So of course you think to yourself how much of a bull run we've been in.

Even though I am unsure of the circumstances that led you to sell your holdings, I think you are a responsible man and that is why you did so. This was one of your holdings' original goals. And even for me, this is one of the reasons I hold onto bitcoin: if I ever find myself in a circumstance where I don't have access to any other resources, I can use it to solve my problems, which is what I think everyone would like to do.
I am aware that you hoard these coins for the future; it is really painful when you sell them before you are ready, but you still found happiness by meeting the requirements of your family.

OP will surely earn even more Bitcoin in the next few years to feel proud of their collection of Bitcoin. It feels good to see that they could use their bitcoin to come out of a bad situation instead of getting stuck in it.

Now the only thing to make sure of is that they continue to find methods to spend their coins easily into their local fiat currency without having to go through much KyC trouble. That way they will not face a desperate situation but use their saved bitcoin to help themselves.

Never feel disheartened about selling the coins. They are money after all, your family matters much more than some mere cash and investments can always wait.

Bitcoin hits 30k today. It would have been more profitable to keep it for a few more days. But you sold bitcoins, to meet your family needs. You will try to invest again and hold for longer, hopefully making more profit.
Necessity knows no bounds. No one can say precisely when someone's shortage will come. Here @OP probably sold his accumulated bitcoins 2-3 days ago when the market was probably below 28k but after he sold the market is at $30000. If he had known that the market would hit $30,000 in a day or two, he might not have sold his bitcoins at that time. He used to wait two days to catch the 30 thousand market.

Bitcoin was made for transactions; it is just that when the price goes up, as it has in recent years, other people hold it as an investment. There is nothing wrong with what you've done; it helps you a lot. Just imagine if you hadn't hoarded bitcoin over the years: what would you be spending right now? How would you get that much money? You shouldn't regret it because you sold it on purpose. Try to accumulate again in the next few months when you are financially able.

We all know that Bitcoin is a valuable asset. Everyone wants to keep that great valuable asset for a long time. Because Bitcoin will have a halving very soon. So right now everyone is trying to buy more bitcoins and invest. And right now I have to sell my pre-allocated bitcoins. In fact I never sold my hoarded bitcoins if I didn't need to, I just looked at the bitcoin having and then sold it.

It is true that everyone is trying to accumulate as many bitcoins as possible, no one wants to spend or sell bitcoins at current prices, and everyone is expecting $100k. But don't forget what your bitcoin investment purpose is, if you invest in bitcoin to have a better life, there is nothing wrong with using bitcoin even though it's not as your plan. Imagine if you didn't have that bitcoin, how would you be in trouble? So don't be too sad but be happy because bitcoin has helped you.
Wealth is supposed to be used to improve our lives, and while there is never a good time to go through an emergency, it is quite common they appear at the worst possible time, however what matters is that the OP had enough bitcoin on hand to solve their problems and that is a good thing.

Because someone which was not fortunate to have that amount of money on hand will have to get indebted to pay for the emergency, and if the costs are high it could take them years before the debt is repaid, and that is assuming there is not an additional emergency during that time which forces them to take a new loan and get into a downward spiral from which is impossible to escape.

Bitcoin apart from being used as a long-term investment, of course, it can also be used as savings with the aim that if there is an urgent need, of course, it can be sold, SO what you are doing is the right thing because you have made the right decision, namely selling btc for your interests.

I'm just curious, how many bitcoins have you accumulated? Looks like a lot too, right? But anyway, if you sold your bitcoin at the time you needed it, you shouldn't regret it because it helped a lot for your family.

Also make sure that you have saved some bitcoin even if we say that you sold most of your holdings before. So I am also happy and you are one of those who have been helped and are still being helped by bitcoin.

indeed in investing in btc sometimes there are many temptations that are always present in our lives, which usually we will be forced to sell btc because the necessities of life are always there, but in my opinion you are still said to be lucky because you are investing in btc rather than not investing at all.
but of course you are not too late to start buying btc again,
because currently the price of btc is still cheap.
so keep the spirit friends .... and in my opinion what you do is something good and wise.

Yes mate, you are correct. You know some times emergencies that we can not think of just manifest itself taking is off balance which we never expected to happen. What next is left for us to swing into action which requires us responding to the urgency immediately.  They are out on the mean tin

sad to know that you had to let go of your prized bitcoins this early in your investment journey but honestly speaking, bitcoin over my family? I'd choose family any day, so I can't really blame you for selling it since to me, you did the right thing. In any case, I believe you'd still have plenty of chances to recuperate from this loss and stock up on bitcoins in the near future, for now you gotta focus on making your family secure in ways that matter.
Actually, you don't need to regret the sale, even though we know when the situation is urgent and requires any money to be sold including Bitcoin ownership. Today you may sell it but that doesn't rule out the possibility that in the future you will have it again. Don't be sad because family needs are the most important thing above all. In the past, I also did the same thing, selling out of necessity, but time goes on and we always have the opportunity to have it again. There are still many ways to hold Bitcoin, while Bitcoin is still being traded, you can buy it whenever you want. Imagine that there are many people out there who have lost access to their wallets with a large amount of Bitcoin. While they need money to stay alive.
What you said is true and I stand by it but at the same time, we can't really blame the guy, it's like smashing an empty beer bottle at the back of your head, whatever the reason may be, you're still damaged and hurt from the ordeal. I'm guessing that since OP is a capable man anyway, maybe put in the extra work to have enough money to put back into investing? You did it once, you can always do it again if you want to. We have full trust in you OP!

Hodling might mean hold for dear life to most but, what life would that be when you let your problems eat you up even though you've got the funds to settle them. You haven't done anything wrong in liquidating your crypto portfolio but, having to sell all of it is something that shouldn't be and like you said, you just couldn't help it and so I can imagine what hell  of a conflicting decision you had to make.
Better still, your holding in bitcoin has helped you attain some stability and that's great.

Cheer up! You can use Bitcoin to meet your family's needs when there's no other option. You're using Bitcoin to get through this phase in your life, but that doesn't mean you have to hold onto it forever. Although we're currently in a bull market and Bitcoin is on the rise, you can always accumulate it again when you've resolved your issues and have extra funds. So don't stress, take it easy and move forward. You can always buy or earn Bitcoin again.

Selling the bitcoins you have accumulated over the years even when the market is not ideal to meet a need is the last resort for every bitcoin holder. I can agree with you when you said being a part of the forum has provided access to a wealth of knowledge and insight about the market and in many times as I can count, I have relied on the knowledge acquired here to make informed decisions regarding bitcoin.

It's just a sad turn of events but what can someone do whenever his family is in need and no one was there to help?

That's just how life goes and thank god you were able to keep that bitcoins of yours until you really need them and it's not really bad to spend it that way because family should come first and when you want to invest again with your spares money, you always welcome and just be careful next time because it's really not recommendable to keep your BTC in some exchanges while you holding it. better consider having a personal Bitcoin wallet if you could do so.

You shouldn't regret your decision. You did it for a good cause (your family) so it was worth it. You don't regret spending money, do you? It's just money, you can't buy many things with money - love, health, respect etc. I'm sure you'll be able to invest more soon.  Wink

You should not feel bad selling your Bitcoin for your family needs.  There is no wrong in pulling out our Bitcoin holdings to serve as financial aid if it happen that our fiat money is not enough to sustain our family expenses.  For me it is better to survive spending our Bitcoin than starve holding it.   So I agree with earlier replies that we should not feel bad selling our Bitcoin in time of needs and emergencies.  Bitcoin can be replenish holdings but the lives of our beloved cannot.

There was some suffering for a while.  Because right now all investors are consolidating their investments.  And at this moment I sold my investment.  That's why I felt some pain. But now I don't feel any pain.

Of course, I believe that it was not easy for you to let go of your bitcoins that you have collected for years. But I also believe that you made the right decision because you solved your financial problem. There is nothing wrong with that.

Yes I hope to deposit bitcoins again. And for the next bullish I still have the opportunity to use that opportunity. Desperate what to do must sell for necessity. And whatever we earn is for necessity.

Now it is important to carefully consider your financial situation and plan your next steps. First of all, think about how much money you need for your emergency needs and current expenses. Plan your expenses and income to avoid financial problems and set long-term financial goals. Finally, you can return to the world of bitcoin after you financially recover and decide to reinvest. However, it is important that you decide on your investment strategy to avoid potential risks in the future.

@Op, He kept bitcoins in reserve for his own needs but he sold his bitcoins because of sudden family problems. The main purpose of hoarding bitcoins is to use them for family support and personal needs in the future. The OP may have kept his bitcoins unsold for a long time, but now he feels a certain regret that he is forced to sell the bitcoins. If he can earn more bitcoins in future then surely he can accumulate more bitcoins.

Congratulations and be thankful you have some Bitcoin start to pay for your bills, one of the primary reasons why we hold Bitcoin is to provide an alternative in times of crisis, this is because when other things fail bitcoin will forever remain in the term of finances, I have hard similar expireneces some time ago where I had to use some of my bitcoin to sort out some personal needs and I was glad that I had such savings to fall back on in those rainy days.

But I made sure to replace it back when things normalized for me, in fact I made it as a mandatory task to make sure it was returned in full, so ops you did well to have used your Bitcoin to sort out your family needs, this is one of the primary features of Bitcoin that is why bitcoin is sometimes fondly referred to as a life saviour.

We holding BTC to survive in future because the Bitcoin is next big technology which will adopt by many people weather its legalize or not because its decentralization will force every single one to hold some part of Btc. Regret to hear that you sold Btc below 50k$ but there was no other way to fulfill family need then you should not be worry about it because Family wealth is our first priority.

I will suggest you to fight hard with these situations and when you feel comfort, you can invest again. I hope your buying rate will be not much high then selling rate. may i know what was your buying rate and how much years you hold it?

You made the right decision, I have been in that situation already and I don't regret selling my bitcoin because a family member need money for his hospital bills. We are still a year from the bitcoin bull run, so you still have a lot of time to start from scratch again. If you have done it before, then definitely you can do it again.

Tried a lot but could not manage the required money. Maybe nearing a bull market I sold my bitcoins. I am having a lot of trouble selling this bitcoin I have built up over the years. Again, as I said, you don't need to feel bad about it, just think of it as another lesson. And bitcoin investment is a journey and there are times that you need to sell them. The most important thing is that you help your family from the bitcoin that you have sold. It's difficult to make that decision, however, that is the right thing to do so don't feel remorseful.

This is how investment works; not only giving you potential prodit but also provides in times of need. However this is also the downside of any investment; ofcourse plan would be holding for years but we just cannot be certain of when will that time be, and there would be instances that'll push or force us to go against what is planned, and that thing is called emergency. Glad that OP will be able to aid what he is needing but this should not be the end of line for him. He may again accumulate an amount to invest, someday if not today. Keep in mind that it will never be too late to engage in an investment especially in this industry which has just began its progressive growth and is potentially good for long term holding.

It is so hard to sell the Bitcoin that you have held for a long time because for you it is already a treasure, and this is the only way you can remember when you started with Bitcoin or you can be proud of yourself that you have held Bitcoin for this long, but just sell it because it is necessary due to unforeseen events or emergencies. It's hard to think decide that situation, but you have to prioritize what's more important especially when life is involved. So, I'm so happy for your decision.

Nobody will likely sell out its bitcoin when bitcoin is approaching to the bullish market, in some point's that's what most of investors don't like a problem that will make them to withdraw their proposed investment funds, its painful to invest and after making a withdrawal bitcoin rise or we experience a bullish market. In aspect of forum been a helping hands, I think  that forum has been a helping hand to an extent that you can solve or overcome certain challenges with the btc earn in the forum despite that the objective of creating forum is not in the aspect of earning BTC, but right now I think so many youths who finds themselves here is able to train themselves in higher institutions, I think forum deserves an accolades for grooming people from different geographical environments to know the rudiments of cryptocurrency and bitcoin precisely.

Oh, so the creator of NicNacCoin is from Bangladesh? You reference a currency abbreviated as "Tk" in your opening post, which is short for the Bangladeshi taka.

Well congrats on being able to save up that kind of money during the two or so years you've owned this account, I guess.  Yeah I know the earning potential if you would have started with your own account from the beginning would have been very limited in the same timeframe.

You are forced to sell bitcoins from your accumulated bitcoins due to your family problems, it is sad on one hand and happy on the other. Since you could not solve your family problem, you solved the problem by selling your accumulated bitcoins. It is undoubtedly an important aspect of Bitcoin and support in solving your family problems. Earn bitcoins again by spending time on bitcoin forums and save for the future just like you deposited bitcoins. Maybe again you faced a family problem and solved your family problem from that accumulated bitcoin.

I may add that no Bitcoin investor would want to sell their Bitcoin at this time when a bull run is getting approaching, but sometimes we have no other option but to sell it and use the money to solve some necessary problems

But believe that bull run this not yet started and the price is still low, and you can still accumulate Bitcoin before the bull run start you determined from the little you are earning from the forum.but if cannot meet up by accumulate some amount value in bitcoin before bull run started I believe there's another opportunity in future .

So you have experienced what many people say about, "bitcoin saves the household economy", bitcoin is very valuable depending on what condition you spend it in. Because I don't think people would really benefit from bitcoin if they never faced this kind of situation.

You did not say if you had to sell at a loss or a profit, so it is difficult to see the whole picture. I had many friends who sold at a huge loss, because they bought near a All-time-high price. (They obviously did that against my best advice, but life happens and they needed the money)

We are some time lucky enough to come in early into a new technology and/or time the buying 100% correctly.... and then we make loads of money when the price spike.... but not everyone is that lucky.  Cry

Well, if it's sold, it's sold, why worry about it now. Bitcoin served their purpose in this case: it was needed at the moment when it was needed. It turns out that you knowingly saved up and hold btc all this time. At least in your lifetime, bitcoin have been helpful.
There was some suffering for a while.  Because right now all investors are consolidating their investments.  And at this moment I sold my investment.  That's why I felt some pain. But now I don't feel any pain.
Expecting a bullish trend anytime soon seems premature to me and I think you will still have time to accumulate some bitcoin by the start of this. So, don't despair, I think everything is still ahead.
Yes I hope to deposit bitcoins again. And for the next bullish I still have the opportunity to use that opportunity. Desperate what to do must sell for necessity. And whatever we earn is for necessity.

There probably isnt any point to the thread but its interesting to read some of the replies.

Bitcoin in this instance worked for the OP, he needed money so used Bitcoin, he kept his
money in the first place in Bitcoin not FIAT, wasnt that what Bitcoin was designed for, to
enable us to Be our own Banks?

The ideal scenario would be to sell P2P without any third party involved but unfortunately the
OP couldnt do it.

Maybe nearing a bull market I sold my bitcoins. I am having a lot of trouble selling this bitcoin I have built up over the years. I am grateful to this bitcoin forum because if it wasn't for this bitcoin forum today I might not have found a solution to my need.

I don't get the point of your forum thread. Are you complaining about something? Why did you sold BTC for USDT? Can't you sell directly BTC for fiat money? What kind of app is this? It's great to hear that Bitcoin helped you in times of need. It's always a good idea to save some money for a rainy day. You shouldn't regret about selling your BTC near a bull market. I think that the real bull market will come after 2024.
There will be more price turbulence in the BTC markets and all cryptocurrency markets in general.

It is a challenge for us to be able to hold Bitcoin for a long time but on the one hand we still need money to meet our needs, especially if we don't have a steady job, we often end up selling the Bitcoin we have collected to meet our various needs. Hopefully you can go back to buying Bitcoin and holding it for a longer period of time.

It is unfortunate that you have to sell your bitcoins to provide for your family but for me it was the best decision you have made. However, it's important to have a backup plan in case an emergency like this occurs. Investing in bitcoins can be a good long-term investment strategy, however, the value can fluctuate a lot. Don't forget that financial risk should always be considered before deciding to invest in bitcoin or any other asset. Hopefully your family's needs are met and you can continue to rebuild your bitcoin portfolio in the future.

Maybe OP might not be able to hold and enjoy the additional profit. Bitcoin saved over the year have helped OP come out of an unexpected trouble. What for we're working is our family, when we were able to fulfill our family's need it gives utmost satisfaction. Bitcoin have gained importance as an investment among the common people who doesn't have much technical knowledge.

I've lost a big part of my savings gambling, however in many critical situation my savings have helped me. We need to be thankful to the person who had introduced us to bitcoin and made us believe in it. In every bitcoin users life atleast once bitcoin savings could've helped in critical situation.

OP you see, emergency is what we can not tell when it will occur. We are not praying for such to happen but we just need to be at alert and prepared at any point in time. Funds whether available or not are meant to be spent. You should be happy you had such savings available to spend to settle the urgent need that came up at that point in time. Bitcoin was initially invented by satoshi to be spent as cash as said by the previous poster so therefore you spending your bitcoin was for a purpose which money would still do.

I have had similar experience months past where I had to do the needful as the pending payment I was expecting did not drop in my account in time and too I can not start initiating the process of cash withdrawal from my other investments so I opted to sell my bitcoin to sort out the emergency at hand with plans of replacing it when my pending credit alert drops in and fortunately enough, it dropped that night and I bought back the volume of bitcoin I sold.

Saving of bitcoin sometimes help too. When the need arises, do the needful to sort out yourself with it.

I think that the point of holdings is to save money and use it in case of emergency. Never regret spending your savings on something if it was really necessary.

It's clear that it wasn't easy to part with something you've been accumulating for so long, but I believe that you still have plenty of time to buy more bitcoin.

and you have to thank bitcoin, because bitcoin has helped your family problems and that's the most important thing. And you can also start all over again if you have extra money to buy bitcoin gradually because bitcoin is for the future and you can buy it anytime before the bitcoin price reaches a very high price.

What is important is that BTC you hold lives up to its purpose. A currency is always useful to buy something you need. Anyone who holds coins would also do the same if they have to spend them in times of danger.

Since you have created this thread, maybe you should as well just share what danger you are encountering. It would probably help users here understand what made you create this thread or if you just wanna unload it out of your chest.

Are we really going to start threads every time we sell $300 worth of bitcoin? What's the purpose of this thread?
If I sell $1k of BTC tomorrow, should I start a thread saying: thank you for allowing me to use bitcoin in the time of need, dear bitcointalk forum?

If every bitcointalk user who sells started making threads about it, we'd be drowning in spam here. Congratulations, OP! You did it! When you buy some BTC again, don't start a thread about it.

Although at this time it is not the right time to sell Bitcoin and I am very familiar with the conditions of the needs you are talking about. You should not need to sell all the Bitcoin that you have and simply sell as needed, so that when Bitcoin gets a rally at a higher price next year, you also have assets that can be utilized.

That is why savings are also considered important for people, so when your urgent needs do not need to sell Bitcoin you have, but because this is related to difficulties and maybe you need money by forced to sell Bitcoin you have. If this experience is in me personally, then I will sell half of the bitcoin that I have and try to do other ways to meet those needs.

Op sorry for the unexpected expenses, but those are part of the human nature. Nobody keeps money for un-necessarily expenses like hospital bill and any other bills that you can't avoid. There is no need for you to show the forum the amount of coins sold out for your family expenses. Yes the forum educated you to secure a little amount of money to spend. You can't avoid of selling coins the matter what unless you are doing another business to support yourself and from the way you sounded, you are not doing any other job and that is why you sold you hodling coins. If you must save try to lol for alternative job to pay bills.

After this post of yours I think you might be too mentally broken to sell your investment. But I don't see any mental breakdown here. Why did you invest to exploit it during the crisis? Now if you can't stand by your family in their time of need then this investment will be worthless. You can make such investments many times in the future but if you can't stand by your family in their time of need, no matter how much profit you earn from the investment, it's really worthless.
You hand over this invested money to your family with a smile. And wait for a better time so that you can invest again.  Best wishes to you and your family.

I even had to sell bigger bitcoins many times than yours, it was a very frustrating feeling because I was expecting to sell it for $100k and I would get a huge amount of money to do these things that I planned. But I also have to sell my bitcoins to use for more necessary cases. Looking at the bright side, without those bitcoins I wouldn't have a solution, so that's more of a blessing than a sad thing.

Don't feel bad about it. Your family is more important than your coins. You can make money anytime. Maybe you will even make more money than you previously had but god forbid if anything bad happens to your family members, like death, there is no going back from there. You did the right thing. If you somehow miss this bullmarket, you can always wait for the next one. You may miss a bull market but bitcoin is here to stay and that is the most important thing to remember.

I also do what you do because the family's needs are the most important and we must fulfil them immediately, especially if they are primary needs. Indeed it is sad when you have to sell bitcoins at such a low price but we can't do anything about it. But we have to be sure that we can still collect more bitcoins and don't make it a burden. Otherwise, we will just think about it endlessly, keeping us from moving forward.

Maybe we should find another way that we can make money so we can earn extra income. In that way, we can reduce the sale of bitcoins to meet family needs because we can make ends meet through our income.

I have shared USDT sale images here. Actually in the first state I deposit 0.02 bitcoins. But when I want to sell bitcoin p2p the price was slightly lower compared to USDT. That's why I sell Bitcoin by converting it to USDT. I needed 363.89 USDT. That's why I convert 363.89 USD to equivalent Bitcoin.
I see. Yeah, Sometimes I noticed this as well. When I try to sell Bitcoin for fiat. I notice the price is lower than the actual market. Buyers place orders at low prices to avoid high volatility. So, Sellers end up converting their Bitcoin into stable coins like USDT and BUSD.

I didn't get what the trouble was selling your Bitcoin. Didn't you know where to sell? Did you hear of Binance from this forum? Because you said, you are grateful to this forum because you found a solution because of this forum. IDK what did you mean.

I understand that you have earned Bitcoin from this forum Signature campaign. But I don't think any forum members suggest using centralized exchanges. You can use them if you want to trade. But, Not for holding. You said you were holding your Bitcoin for some time. I suggest using a non-custodial wallet if you're going to hold it next time.

Time Locked wallet is best solution if you want to hold your coins somewhere and keep it safe.

It doesn't matter if it's the only way to solve your family's financial problems.
I have also experienced what you have experienced.
Selling bitcoin holdings that have long been held for urgent needs.

But here we also have to learn how to do financial management well.
Separating between investments that are used for the long term and personal finances that are used for daily needs.

We are close to the 4th Halving and the current price is still quite cheap.
Maybe you will buy it again when you already have other income that can make your family finances stable.
There are still many ways that you can hold Bitcoin again before the halving and bullishness occur.

There is nothing to regret, family needs come first, and no one will sneer at you for selling your own Bitcoin, it is your right to use it in any way.
Your bitcoins are yours.

You do not need to feel bad about selling it even if we all know that bull run is about to come soon. What you need to think of is profit is profit.

Nothing to regret on bro. You should be happy that Bitcoins helped you when you are in need of emergency money. Emergencies never come in a scheduled time, it happens unexpectedly, so it’s always advised that keep some funds backed up for these type of emergencies. But you didn’t had any and hence you didn’t get any other options rather than selling the coins in comparatively cheaper price. Nevertheless don’t feel sad, bitcoins or way more valuable than the current price, so try to earn more and buy Bitcoins from those. Hold the Bitcoins for a year and see 2 to 3 times of your profits.

But you may have to sell your investments mid-way due to some family needs.  There is nothing to be upset about. Because you invested then, maybe these investments are useful for your needs today. If you had spent your money without investing at that time, maybe you would not have got these funds for your family's needs today. You are selling your investments for the needs of your family. I have been in your position have to sell bitcoin assets due urgent needed although have desire for keep holding Bitcoin for longer time exactly moment Bitcoin still lower price. You faced complicated problem and have to sell Bitcoin for your family need but don't worry always have moment next time for reinvesting back in Bitcoin.

Have been long journey with holding Bitcoin more than one year and have to sell it, I think you can start again with Bitcoin from signature campaign payment. bitcoin is a digital currency and should be understood and used as such. Isn't an investment and with such lower amount... hell of course no!

as currency it has the (potential) advantage over a FIAT currency of being able to acquire value if stored over the long term (for sure there is no inflation), but this does not mean that it is a mathematical concept or that it was created only for long-term storage.
If no one spent their satoshi, there would be no fees for miners, there would be no incentives to use it etc etc etc...
And at the same time you have to spend part of your earned money to pay for daily expenses, petrol, entertainment, whether they are euro dollars, bitcoins or ... shells! somehow you always have to pay certain outgoings.

Anytime we read speculation about pump of the price, but if you think about it... from conception of the idea few years ago, we have already seen a monster rise, and even this year on 2023 we have around +65% in just 4 months!
This not means we can see the same rise each year Roll Eyes

I had been hoarding some bitcoins for a long time. But today I was forced to sell that bitcoin for family needs.
Your story means you use all money you have to invest in Bitcoin. That is bad and forced selling it when you need money for you, your family is your lesson.

In future, you should have money for emergencies for you and your family and don't have to forced sell your bitcoins. It is not big matter if you sell it at profit price but it is matter if you have to forced sell it at loss.

Well said. Surely the OP has a complicated financial situation, living paycheck to paycheck, and was hoping with $360 invested in bitcoin, he could significantly improve his financial situation. But without starting from a good base, it is difficult. Most likely the peak of the next cycle will be between $100K and $200K. How much would the OP have been able to hold without selling even if he had not been forced as he is now? If $360 is important to him, in beating the ATH, above $70-80K, he would have $1K? Would he hold on, knowing that the price might drop drastically? That's what happens to many, in the end, they are forced to sell on the spur of the moment. To avoid this, you have to start from a good base, but I understand that for some people it is difficult.

You should spend your Bitcoin if it's for your family's sake, this is what any responsible man would do, do not be a mean fella by holding Bitcoin and failing to help your family that needs medical attention or other, remember, it is a risk that we are all alive today, anyone can leave this world at any time, what is the gain of holding Bitcoin till your death bed? None, because we are all holding to either become very rich and retired someday or at least have a better life, providing for your family in need is everything.

I wouldn't suggest anyone invest their savings in Bitcoin. You may need urgent cash for a Family emergency (Just like this). But, The need for money should depend on the level of emergency. If you sold it just because of a festival coming soon and you want to buy something. I wouldn't say it's an emergency. It seems you were holding your coin on Binance, which is not good if you planned to hold it for a long time. Why are you letting someone else control your coins? OP, why present your story in a tone of regret? Wouldn't it be better for you if you couldn't find a way out of your situation? Rejoice! Bitcoin is not just for storage; you can start over and buy it a little later.
There is a good expression that says you cannot earn all the money. If your spending went on health, loved ones, or something else much more important than Bitcoin, then no one can tell you that you exchanged it in vain.
Above all, no one here should teach you what you should and should not do. This is your life and your money, and you should only listen to yourself. And frankly, you should not report it here by creating a topic about it.

I really regret that you sold your Bitcoin, even though within 1 year we will have a halving on Bitcoin, to be precise in Q1 or early Q2. If in the future you have Bitcoin again, and don't want to sell it but want to solve your financial problems at that time, we have a board for money lending in this forum [1]. You can guarantee your Bitcoin as collateral for lending there, on the one hand you can solve your problem, on the other hand you will not lose the value of your Bitcoin.
Most people will lend their money to get interest, this make the @OP need to pay the loan with the interest which is high. As you said above Bitcoin bull run might happen on the next year, no one will lend their money for a year since it's too long.

I don't think the @OP should regret to convert his Bitcoin to fiat for his family needs, family needs is more important than money. It seems like you're don't want to spend any money you get, it's better for you to stop eating to save more money to invest more Bitcoin.

Do not feel sad, but rather the happiness that your family got after they got this amount, and remember that money comes and goes and thinking is what makes you rich.
The price is still low and it is unlikely that we will see crazy increases until the end of next year, so you have about a year and a half to be able to collect more money.
learning a new skill and your experience in trading will make you collect that amount in a relatively short time.

What will you feel if you have to sell it like do a cut loss?

Anyway welcome to Announce your story with Bitcoin, first purchase, sale, business, education ...

The most important part of bitcoin evolution before even holding is the fact that it is a currency for payment of transactions. It is hard sometimes to want to hold on to something but we usually get stuck with natural/human disasters that we can just ignore. It is not bad that your holdings came to your rescue just when you needed it in fact it is the sole purpose of holding in the first place, not just to make profit but to save it for future use without it losing value.

Theirs is still a long way to go before the halving and the anticipated bull run so you can still save some before then. When next you are holding them bitcoins make sure to now split some of your savings into fiat currency so you don’t run to bitcoin every time you need some funds
