I choose bitcoin, because it's easy to use, no need hard registration/verification, lower fee than western union. and i can earn bitcoin freely instead western union that can't earn freely.
Yeah a person who has started to use bitcoins he will never prefer WU for online remittances as the transaction cost of WU is very much higher and bitcoin is very cheap and very fast and the credits are instant.

In where I live, an exchange site, lets you convert your bitcoin into money first before sending it to your recipient.. that way, the amount is not affected anymore when processing takes place in sending it..

Yeah, but still bitcoin is better then WU irrespective of the value, and once you post a trade on website, you will get the same value at the time of transaction, so no need to worry, just transfer when the value is high, that would be more profitable.

At the moment Western Union is better, mainly due to its accessibility. Anyone can send money to almost anywhere without learning how remittance works, but of course paying for the fee. In long run, WU will sure be obsolete due to the increased used of the technology behind bitcoin.

Around my way its the Filipino nannies that slave 12+ hours a day 7 days a week that line up to use Western Union and send most of what they make back home.
If we could tap into that alone bitcoin would do amazing things since every dollar counts. Western Union charges them roughly $15 to send but still.

Because many people who use western union don't have good electronic device or internet connection & don't know about bitcoin, so their only option is only western union.

I've tried Western Union a few times but it's nothing compared to Bitcoin in my opinion. I used to use it but since I found Bitcoin, haven't touched it since.
