I think banning the ICOs till governments can come up with regulation to minimize the scams is a good thing.  The end result, hopefully, will help to stablize the crytos economy.
The governments are not totally banning it they have some serious concerns about bitcoin they think that money launderers will convert their black money into white by using it and their concerns are logical and they are implementing such checks so that bitcoin cannot be used for some illegal works and as this will be completed everyone will be safe.
their main concerns are about tax evasion and funding of dissident groups.

Do you have any proof that government is really "banning" bitcoin. Or you are just saying that because you just heard some news about china banning ICO. How about other countries wo's already adapting bitcoin. Bitcoin is firm and strong to die.
I think OP is refering to South Korea that made the same regulations about ICO as China did and they are planning to do more to make bitcoin transactions more controlled and these actions will probably make other countries follow the same route.

what do you mean, what you say is right out of your mouth.? or get out of your butt ..! Bitcoin never dies, even if the government forbids it, it will continue to run, and get to its popularity elsewhere, only we may be the ones who do not want to break the rules of government then we leave it. Do not tell bro, you're like wedus if you say it.

Bitcoin will not die just by a simple temporary banning of a government in a certain country. It happened many times before but Bitcoin is still standing firm and steadfast. Bitcoin is a worldwide coin and exist in the internet so as long as the internet exist, so as Bitcoin. This is just a random claim about Bitcoin's death which is an obvious FUD.

Bitcoin Obituaries - Bitcoin has died 171 times.
Bitcoin has done what Jesus couldn't do and that is dying a total of 171 and rising from the dead each time, Whiles Jesus feed 5000 people with five loaves and two fishes, bitcoins is giving people food on the daily basis with nothing at all. Indeed Bitcoin is supreme.

I think it is the people and Bitcoin is just a medium.  And I do not think Bitcoin is supreme Smiley  Though I like your sense of exaggeration.

Anyway, this is kinda entertaining, somehow some break from FUD and Hype battle.  About the chinese ICO banning, it was temporary, well at least the rumors said so. And I am sure these thread will be compiled with those Bitcoin obituary threads that was been lurking the internet ever since.

Bitcoin will never die
Bitcoin has proven time and time again that it can withstand the heat of bull markets and has the resilience to continuously survive price crashes. Price fluctuations may be normal for most assets, however not many currencies, stocks and commodities are able to survive continuous price crashes and death pronouncements.

Why is would Bitcoin never die?

Honestly we are not so sure about Bitcoin

Quote
1. Bitcoin is too big to fail

there is no too big when it comes to the time for its downtime Smiley  There are lots of big companies and that shutdown after several decades of operation.  Bitcoin might probably end like this but it is too early for it now.

2. People simply love Bitcoins

Not all people love bitcoins.  The heck my neighbor does not know what Bitcoin is and government are threatened by Bitcoin.  How could they love something if they were threatened to extinction by it.

3. Several important people still believe in Bitcoins

There are far more important people that are hesitant of Bitcoin and thinks that it won't  succeed

4. Bitcoin has proven itself

No, not yet!  Bitcoin needs a lot more hurdles to overcome before it can prove itself.

But as much as oppose your statement I am positive that Bitcoin is here to stay for another century.

People are taking this silly/joke thread reaaaaaally seriously, hahaha. Relax guys, bitcoin is here to stay, and the outcome where it fails and falls flat on its face is the one where the developers themselves mess things up and stop chasing bitcoins true vision/potential (which they are kinda doing at the moment). But if that happens, there'll be another coin to take its place at the top, that's how the market works.

Bitcoin is alive and kicking. As posted before, BTC has been declared dead many many times and even though there might have been doubts in the past, I would say, it's finally here to stay!

The government can ban their centralized currency and to do with it whatever they wish, but bitcoin is decentralized and nobody can ban it actually, but the government can short the use of bitcoin on their territory. I think in this case bitcoin will just go in the deep internet and that's it, but I really doubt that all countries over the world will follow Chinese example about banning.

Hahaha this is funny, but it is true, everytime that any government tries to do something against bitcoin, the price goes up again, it is like if nothing can stop it, but i remember that it dropped like $1500 after China news, and now it is upto $4200 again, and now it dropped like $300 because of last week's fud, but it is recovering now, so we are going in the right path.

Bitcoins will not die just because China has banned ICOs, it could affect bitcoins but not that much that bitcoins would die.China banned ICOs just because there were too many scam or fake ICOs just to scam people.Wherever there is drop in price people starts thinking that bitcoins are dying I don't why, instead think this drop as anopportunity to buy bitcoins at low prices. Thus drop is only a temporary affect ,soon bitcouns will rise again.

I don't think Bitcoin will die because it's banned in some countries Smiley) But as I know Korea is going to ban ICO in their country so I think it'll affect to Bitcoin price a little bit maybe in next few days Bitcoin price will be dumped to under 4k$ one more time but it'll rise back soon I think so cause it's always the same Bitcoin price afftected by some countries because of the proposed ban but after that Bitcoin always rise back for example China banned ICO and it affected a lot to Bitcoin price but right now the price is over 4k$ like nothing happened although China is the country has biggest cryptocurrency trade volume.
