Indeed the transaction fees in bitcoin network are high nowadays before i can pay a single cent for a high priority fee but now, you will pay 10 dollars or more for a high priority although devs are now testing lightning network to bitcoin main network i hope this could be the solution on high transaction fees we are currently facing. But if this fails bitcoin will be doomed and another cryptocurrency will emerge and take the spot for the bext bitcoin.

it will become a collectible in that case if the fee is that much. I am not aware of it as it is not affordable for me. Thanks for letting know the reality.

I hope the BTC board will address this issue as time goes by. ALt coins cannot no way match up with Bitcoin family.

With such higher fee, I think bitcoin will be doomed

A friend of mine (a newbie in crypto) bought $110 btc, yesterday he tried to sell for profit but blockchain was asking $98 fee out of $110. That is insane, lmao

Any new coin should need to rise up and vanquish bitcoin, like Litecoin and Dash, Bch is also good.

The transaction fee is high, i agree but saying it will doomed is a NO NO....... BTC is the king of all cryptos......

It varies from moment to moment. It doesn't take much time to fall from king to slave.

I agree that the fee's are getting ridiculous though.

the fee is so high yes that was right but we have to take the risk of it even though , for some new or you are take a lot of experience here when you see the fee that cost too much will say that it is to much and it may be doomed.

Etherium also has some problems with fee today, but developers improve it constantly. Bitcoin can not come to an agreement

Yes, something must be done like b2x or else people will leave btc and adopt other coins. I'm also planning to move to another coins like ltc or dash.

$98 fee is absolutely ridiculous, fees right now are around $5-$10, still pretty ridiculous and I agree that bitcoin will suffer from this, hopefully in time some solution can be found to greatly reduce the fees or bitcoin can be a victim of its own success.

Any wallet that asks for such a high fee obviously has something wrong with its code. There is no need to pay such high fees. The only reasons wallets do this is to speed up transactions as fast as possible, which makes no sense because you end up paying mostly fees anyways.

we all know about the fee issues, which are pretty fucked up right now. you don't have to lie about it like this which is too obvious!

if your friend did really "buy" bitcoin he only has 1 transaction in his wallet. spending 1 transaction to create 1 output is going to give him a transaction of size 180-190 bytes. lets round it up to 200 bytes.

blockchain.info is known to give very low fee estimates so i doubt if it gave him any more than 250 s/b but lets take the highest fee which was 435 s/b.
http://statoshi.info/dashboard/db/fee-estimates

your friend paid 435*200 = 87,000 satoshi fee = $12.18
and that is the highest fee, people usually pay 100 s/b which makes it $3

Yes bitcoin is bad as a means of payment. And coins of the next generation are much better in this case
I adhere to the same opinion. Bitcoin in my opinion is too overpriced and does not correspond to its price. I think that there are more promising coins deserving more attention

The blockchain isn't asking anything, you can send transactions without any fees whatsoever if you wanted but of course that would mean it's at the bottom of the priority list to get processed.

Use manual fees depending on your time sensitivity and use fewer inputs if you can.

At the moment it is very difficult to make small transactions on the bitcoin network.

It should become easier once the scaling starts to work better.

All in all, a 110 usd transaction should not cost 98 usd unless it was made up of many small transactions in the first place.

10 usd should probably be enough to send the coins.
