It's been around for about 40 years. Have you ever heard of Liberty Reserve, E-gold, et al. Cryptographers such as David Chaum and the electronic money called ecash? E-cash was even used by some banks in Europe such as Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse,,..

Now you can say me you were talking about a currency using cryptography (a cryptocurrency) but it doesn't change anything.
Bitcoin isn't the first digital currency or cryptocurrency.
b-money and bit gold were probably the very first , distributed and anonymous system. Bit gold used a proof of work solution.

I think we don't need to rub it in guys, yeah for us bitcoin is the only one and that's why we could be called bitcoin maximalist. But in any case, there are altcoin investors here, then good for them.

And there are individuals who might have profits x amount, bigger than bitcoin as there are altcoins that really outperforms bitcoin itself. So there is no competition here, it we wanted to invest on bitcoin and then there's group of investors who loves altcoins here so be it guys.

Diversification is key in every sector. Yes, Bitcoin is the grandfather and will be the supreme digital money for long to come. Ethereum has its own unique aspects, thus do layer 2's. Unlike some users, I wouldn't dismiss these opportunities. The opinion that they "don't rise as much" can be contradicted by looking at the charts and zooming out, it's simply not a true statement. While some want to call them shitcoins, they are actually alternatives with unique use cases. Diversifying a portion of your portfolio into prosperous solutions like these are not a bad idea instead of putting all your eggs into the BTC basket.

On what basis do you say that ETH and BNB do not appreciate more than BTC? You and many are trying to deny that today altcoins are giving higher returns than bitcoin. Its not a new thing anymore in the cryptoworld today due to past success of BTC everyone would has intention to hold any crypto would probably agree that bitcoin beats every other crypto out there because of its resilience to dump massively that may probably lead to an investor losing all their investment in the dip although the bear pretty much after every coin in the market but their is a certainty that BTC always climbs back up and even beat its previous ATH.

Although in bull seasons like this the pump usually affect all crypto so for me I think diversifying your investment into different coins during this period would probably be an option I will not be afraid to take seeing how many coins is going to pump up, it will be an ideal time to accumulate as much profits as you can from all your investment on crypto and BTC in particular.

Yes, they are better off investing in Bitcoin than investing in altcoins that often disappoint although there are types of altcoins that can be expected to have large returns, but not in all altcoins.
Bitcoin is the best investment asset available in the crypto space and will still be the best for those who want complete value in addition to an investment that will benefit those who hold it.

If one intends to invest in altcoins, do not put 100% of the money into them.
70% on Bitcoin and 30% on certain altcoins one of which is Ethereum.

Lol, there was a time where Ethereum could able to overtake Bitcoin on 2017-2018 during ICO hype. But after that, Ethereum lose it's own market and always follow Bitcoin price until now. I see no chance for Ethereum to beat Bitcoin, there are a lot rumor from 2-3 years ago ETH 2.0 will reduce the gas fee, but there's no progress.

This is a personal choice, but observing older price charts and seeing how their basic characters fan out, bitcoin ticks all the boxes that the investors want as compared to any altcoin. But you may find some other coin interesting.

You can tell them to track their investments vs a virtual investment in bitcoin at the same capital and then see over the next 1-2years which portfolio turns up better than the other. Of course if they dont chicken out of it. Try doing that yourself and you will see the difference. I can say this with confidence because I have been watching the market since some time now.

Investing is a personal decision and shouldn't affect your investment at all. If you think Bitcoin will have the highest return possible out of all other altcoins, you should go with Bitcoin. Historically, Ethereum has given more returns every Cycle than Bitcoin maybe because it's used more as a product rather than Gold, which Bitcoin has became? If Bitcoin can provide the fast and efficient usage, it will surely replace the Need of Ethereum in the Cryptoverse.

The only advantage Bitcoin has above all other altcoins is that it's still Proof of Work while Ethereum switched to Proof of Stake.

Few days back the market capital of whole crypto industry was covered by BTC like 51% or 52% market capital was covered by BTC only. Does this not emphasize the importance of BTC over ALTs. And if we talk about the profit ratio that both BTC and ALTs could make you then this factors is not comparable because the factor that caused you huge profits doesn't relies in the coin or token you are investing it depends on your knowledge and strategies you used.

For example, the whole market is lead by BTC so you could make 1000$ in BTC as profit and in ALTs too but it depends on the knowledge and experience or obviously the luck you have. other wise these two entities are just different from many other factors but profit is not the one.

Investing in bitcoin is the best because of many reasons. Bitcoin is not centralized like other coins and you will see high profit if you invest in it. Investing in altcoins too will give high yield and I will not advice you to invest all in bitcoin. Do not leave your coins in one basket. You can invest 70% of you money in bitcoin, while the remaining 30% on altcoins which are riskier to invest in than bitcoin.

If you think that you want to invest on a single coin, bitcoin would be the best to go for. Know also that you may invest in altcoins and sometimes the altcoins can disappoint you.
