Mining is only unprofitable if miners sell immediately, and if the price never increases

Mining is nowhere near profitable at this level. Unless the difficulty dropped dramatically.
I dont get this. If a lot of miners leave, wouldn't it be easier to get rewards for the remaining mines? less cake to slice.

Maybe I'm just a dummy, but miners secure the network. Isn't that one of the selling points of BTC? Offering a confirmation consensus to prevent fraud and authenticate transactions?

Without mining I'm pretty sure PoW coin values are highly diminished.

BitCoin is going nowhere, don't give into the fear-mongerers. Even at this price it's still a massive currency with a massive market cap and it will recover back into the mid $xxx range soon enough.

There had happened a lot of things in recent times, This low price is temporary and bitcoin will come back and this time all time high around 2000$ per btc. This is my opinion only time will tell where it goes.

bitcoin can reach even $10,000 folks. it seems impossible now but it is not.
Maybe when BTC will be deflationary

No doubt, BTC is and always will be.
Only the strong survive during the storm. And Bitcoin, being strong, will be firm and reigning as it always did.

Mining is irrelevant, its the usage as a cyrptocurrency that makes it so valuable.

Why the F*CK would people keep mining, if at current price levels (let alone the price dropping) even the power consumption costs way more than the bitcoins it yields?

Mining for profit was always a bad idea, especially now.
