Altcoins no longer compete with Bitcoin since it's a battle they can't win. Altcoins compete with each other to rank up and convince investors and users to hop on board. The altcoin industry is like a ruthless competition.In every way there are many altcoins doing the exact same thing, so they will have to fight for every inch of their share in this industry. Bitcoin doesn't need to compete with altcoins because it stands on a whole different level.
From the 99% of the altcoins in this industry, only a few % of them actually solve a problem or serve a useful purpose. There is too much noise there to be taken seriously, and it isn't being taken seriously.
People quite often look at the market caps of altcoins and say that they are catching up on Bitcoin, but they fail to understand that their insane total coin supply is doing the trick.

The bitcoin users are hoping and aiming that it will be used last forever and different ways and transaction in any digital form. Nowadays there are several country and state implementing the used of bitcoin in different types of payment in their jurisdiction. Some establishment and businesses are accepting bitcoin as a mode of payment and hope so it will the beginning of new era for bitcoin generation. And, I think this scenario is one of the proofs that bitcoin will last forever because of implementation of same country and state of using bitcoin as a digital form of currencies that used in the different way of payments. In addition, the support of investors and community today continues and giving hope that bitcoin used will last as long as they are here believing the capable of bitcoin to give an opportunity to gain profit through the investment of it.

If you are wise you will see buying cheap bitcoins during the crash while earning profit when bitcoins price increases. Yes a agree with you even bitcoin will not last forever i am realy sure that bitcoin will be forever in our heart and he already made a history all around the world that people wont forget it forever. I realy bilieve in bitcoin and what he is capable but i dont agree that bitcoin will be forever in use.
