In the series Billions they talk about getting paid in cryptocurrency in several episodes. A hedge-fund manager got banned from trading by the government so he'll name another guy as the head of trading, direct the trades and get paid in cryptocurrency so the government can't see that.

If ever bitcoin will be on the movies. I expect that a lot of people will stir their curiousity in bitcoin world. There's a pros and cons. They'll love it or they'll hate it.

Because most people doesn't have any knowledge of it and they quickly judge it without even knowing it. Let's just advertise bitcoin as a new alternative investment that is not a ponzi scheme and most importantly not a scam. People should make blogs, vlogs and YouTube videos promoting btc as a safe haven for investment.

As we know that Bitcoin on the web is the main payment of the service because it can not be tracked, and does not know who the recipient and the sender.

I thought it would be nice to make a good movie about Bitcoin.

But most people do not want to hear the story of how many developers are struggling to bring Bitcoin as king in the market.

Most people just want to see Bitcoin's victory alone.

yes in the movie and the real life bitcoin always be the currencies of bad people make a transaction, receive money and bad things. as we know that in deep web bitcoin is the main payemnt of the service because its untrackable, and dont know who is the receiver and the sender, after that we can see that in ransomware we need to pay with bitcoin too. i agree with you that we need to change view of bitcoin to other people

Most people just want to see a bitcoin win, see how valuable bitcoin is when bitcoin can pay for all their needs.

i've seen a 2016 movie titled "HACKER" and also in netflix's "the heist"  dragging bitcoin as hackers money /dirty money/ bad guys money and i find it wrong because they are creating a negative connotation on bitcoin. i think it is high time to restructure the image of bitcoin on movies.
is there other movies that portray bitcoin in a protagonist side?

Actually, there are plenty of movies about bitcoin.
I love the movie "I am Satoshi" and its a documentary movie that could help users get an idea about bitcoin and how they demonstrate the traditional banking system from the cryptocurrency that could suggest bitcoins a lot more convenient.

Oh... I had no idea that there's a docu movie about Satoshi. Will definitely check it out. I think these films/documentaries are a great way to educate others about bitcoin.

That would be a great opportunity especially for a movie enthusiasts like me. I'm a bitcoin holder and using bitcoin on movies is a great thing because it will be another benefit of bitcoin. Add to that is the revolution it's gonna make because a lot of people will be interested to it once it happens.

I think movies and serials can not be useful to bitcoin only corporate ads and support are helpful in bitcoin development.

That is the strategy of the banks, government and other financial institutions to get rid of Bitcoin.

Well, yet bitcoin has not seen that would have been mentioned in the movies, and it's too early to make cryptocurrency so far into the everyday life of a person, well, in the future I think that this is still possible.

I am a strong believer of ANY news is good news, it generates interest. Bitcoin will be successful no matter what. Was,is and will be.

In a sense it could be a good news. People do a lot of bad publicity to gain traffic and raise interest. But I don't think this would do much good for Bitcoins. You see, it already has a lots of negative vibe floating over people's brain. Which doesn't seem like a good thing to me. Even the bitcoin users doesn't believe in blockchain. Lot of them still think it's a bubble.

Someone needs to come forward and convince the film industry to put a good image of Bitcoins and crypto currency in the big screen. I've seen a movie named "Thank you for smoking (2005)". The movie shows a hint how cigarettes were highlighted by putting it in the celebrity's hand. A film or a bunch of films can make a good impression on Blockchain technology.

Yeah i've noticed this to. Theres references in a tv series called MR.ROBOT, which is about a hacker as well. Its been mentioned several times now in Billions, traders who do dodgy things for axe get paid crypto on a usb stick. Unfortunately this form of corruption does exist. I am a strong believer of ANY news is good news, it generates interest. Bitcoin will be successful no matter what. Was,is and will be.

I have seen a movie in which a guy gave bitcoin as one of the options he could receive his pay for a service he was going to provide. It’s unfortunate that I can’t remember the title of the movie but it was the first time I heard about bitcoin in a movie and I was so pleased.

do not think in a negative way everyone knows that stuffs from movies are not real and we should feel better that someone has introduced the bitcoin in film industries and has used in some movies and i have seen them on some top youtubers channel too. I feel good that people are observing it from the stuff they like and visit most. It will take some time but for new we need their awareness no matter its good or bad. we can work with their thoughts and point of views later.

I think i saw a Simpson episode where the the local bully of the town who normally take the money and the food from the kids made a poster which says that he is going to start taking their lunch money through bitcoins and he has a QR code for the Bitcoin address.
