If you're thinking about long term investment then I would say Gold but for short term bitcons is the best option.

I don't think that Bitcoin is suitable for short term investment. IMO, BTC is more suitable for medium term and long-term investment. Don't expect Bitcoin to give you 1,000% ROI in 6 months. That is not going to happen.  Grin

Nothing especial about that as you can't expect any investment to 10x your capital in 6 months unless you're doing drug trafficking, or any other shady activity. You can do short term investment on bitcoin if the timing is right. For example, those people that bought bitcoins when the price went from 1,100$+ to 760$+. Those who bought coins at the dip should make 200$+ per coin if they sell today.

If you know how to trade, any coin can be a short term investment.
Timing in bitcoin price is hard to get exactly since no one can know when the price could be increase with the target price.
That is why the buy low and sell high is not working well if you don't use any strategy on trading.. In my case and methods i experience to sell right now when the price as example that the price is hit at $1000 value exact amount.. and then i bought the bitcoin when the price is $900 so i sell 100% of my total amount of bitcoin and made a profit of $100 but the problem is the price is continue to increase.
So there is no exact time when the price will increase with the target price how about if the price continue to increase that is why ii made my own methods..
only 28% i can sell every time the margin hits like my margin is $50 i sell bitcoin in 28% in total. and save the profit.. if the price continue i sell 30% till you hit the highest price increase and wait again for the price down and buy again set your margin and make profit. .

Bitcoin is perfectly suitable for short and long term investments. I think Bitcoin has already proven this, don't you think? Only noobs and high on weed dreamers expect Bitcoin to show such insane returns. Everyone with common sense and some level of market understanding know that at this point such returns are not possible. It's not 2012/2013 anymore.

Each one has its pros and its cons

I see no con to Bitcoin.

 Roll Eyes

No matter how much you support something, you must admit that in some cases Bitcoin does have its cons. Current fees make Bitcoin not usable as micro payment tool, which for me personally isn't a problem, but considering how many people here deal with $1-$2 value transactions, it's a big con. Confirmation times form another con. Uncertainty about the endless drama regarding the block size increase isn't helping either.

Medium term yes I will agree with that.
It is suitable for those who are impatient also but there will be not much of a profit.
That is what is investment is all about. The longer you are staying the better the claims will be.
Short term investments are the riskier one. It is like gambling your money.

Actually it depends on your goal, if your target amount is small, You can achieve it by Small term investment. And investing for too long term, might not turn on your favor. You can state trading as gambling if you do without knowledge/skill, but investing short term can never be like gambling and risking money if you don't want to.

Each one has its pros and its cons :

Bitcoin : it is convenient, fast, usable, valuable. All stands here. Bitcoin is to me the digital gold, and beside its small adoption, I see no con to Bitcoin.

Gold : the best advantage for me that can be found in gold is that it is accepted widely, so that if you ever want to buy some or to sell some that will be very easy. Beside this, I see no advantage of gold over Bitcoin. At the inverse, it is actually inferior, in the sense that you can not use it for your payments. This is just pure reserve.

So without any doubt, Bitcoin is better.

Sounds good, but I think there is a risk if we save a bitcoin for a long term. For this time we can profit, but when a lot of coins that looks good then it will be difficult to repeat the profit of bitcoin. I'm not sure if bitcoin will continue to increase in 5 years again.

I would choose gold, because it passed the test of time. I understand that Bitcoin seems very perspective now, but it's been only 5 years the IT developes really fast. Although it developes fast, gold doesn't lose its value. I think I would get 70% in gold and 30% in Bitcoin just in case.

Gold is good because you said it right and there's no question on it. But the problem is on what are we depending and where are we getting profit and good finances. I admit that I love to have gold but it's hard for me to enter the gold industry I know the tough market, so I go for bitcoin. A lot of opportunities and it is complete package with service, investment and currency.
Gold is great but in my country no matter the amount of gold I buy I need to go through KYC since I don't have to do the same with bitcoin then bitcoin is a better option to me since what I buy with my money is nobody business.

Everyone have different choices mate. No problem if he prefer gold rather than bitcoin.
We all are knew that either bitcoin nor gold has different features, system and advantage. He is comfort using gold more than bitcoin but still has interest with bitcoin.
If we see from investment aspect, bitcoin give more profit because it fluctuations relative up year by year.

Important is that you define what long term is according to you since people have different definitions of what they consider to be long term. I see long term as something worthy of minimum 5 years. If we look at how both Bitcoin and gold have been performing in the last 5 years, then it's obvious which tool has been outperforming the other by magnitudes. We all know that past results are not guaranteed to be achieved once again, but it's obvious that with Bitcoin's growth potential it's definitely looking good for long term holders.

Great pick. I also will do that kind of decision since Gold is very stable and the price is slowly increasing after a few years but bitcoin can be also a long term investment which offers high returns rather than gold so i think. I would put the 80% of my money in bitcoin and 20% on gold so even though i didn't earn enough money on bitcoin, I still have back up investment like gold.

Investing in bitcoins is like gambling your money as price can go down soon or maybe rise again you can't be sure as for gold it will keep rising and you can get some ROI.
Although bitcoin is volatile but I am sure that the price of it is tend to rise, people likes bitcoin not only because it is such as investment but it is the easiest currency to use. Saving gold is need big capital and good security but I agree that we can get some ROI in a few years. But for now, I choose bitcoin.

If you had to convert all your wealth to either Bitcoin or gold and keep it there for 10 years, which would you choose? Keep in mind the fact that Bitcoin has only been around for 5 years, and could be fundamentally different in any number of ways in 10 years.

I would still choose bitcoin with all its advantages and disadvantages, because bitcoin is more crowded now in search of people, and the price was again always rise steadily

if there is a choice bitcoin or gold I definitely would choose bitcoin, because now it harganyta has started to increase every year always go up, and the market was also now many users. This is a business opportunity in the current era
compared to gold. bitcoin future may be brighter than gold. because gold is already at the peak of popularity. different from the bitcoin is being piloted would be more popular
Future is the age of digitization, so people will start trusting the technology similar to gold. In this respect bitcoin will get more users than the gold. Gold withe standardized price cannot give people a profit similar to the profits made on investing through bitcoin. Right now bitcoin is in the early days of popularizing itself. so gold is in the peak.

in my view, you should invest all your assets in a single investment anyway, therefore it could easily be gold, bitcoins and a couple of other things as well.

BTC is perfect as a short-term investment if things go in your way, sometimes you would need to wait to make profit though, even very long sometimes -like those who bought at $1000 before, only now are they even or at slight profit-, the risk is higher as well as the reward compared with gold and most other traditional investments.

Gold is a long term low risk investment, the profit is relatively lower than BTC but the growth potential isn't bad at all [check the graph about gold prices in 20 years or so], it isn't that safe too considering the recent downward spiral, every investment has a risk and the trader just need to decide if it's appropriate for him/her or not.
A you are actually wrong if we compare the price of gold from past 10 years it is in supper loss , and if you still see the price is still dropping and not increasing it is still riskier to invest in gold instead of bitcoin because if you see bitcoin is proven to provide better results in short and long term.

Bitcoin is the currency of the future, gold is the currency of the past.

You really should invest in both, thats my opinion.

Agree:

70% gold
30% BTC

You should also explore to diversify your money into other asset classes like real estate, share market, etc,. Because investment means not only just BTC and gold. But real estate needs more money to invest, and if you can then in the longer term it gives an excellent profit and safer. I have invested in all them.
