Gold has already its moment, and it had happened on the last 30 years, bitcoin its happening now, and all years bitcoin its bringing amazing results to all members, this after the crash from 1200 to 200 dollars. A huge advantage of bitcoin over gold its the possibility to earn portion doing some tasks, something we cant do with gold.

On the last 2 years i doubt gold has achieved what bitcoin made, it went from 200-300 dollars to 600-700 dollars, and the potencial of bitcoin remains, and looks like all years bitcoin is getting bigger, atleast on those period bitcoin has just achieved bigger values, something that with gold you arent getting for such. Bitcoin has becames the best investment of the last years, gold has a huge interest, but the results are worse then bitcoin.
You have a good point but that's not the way to compare it, sure that bitcoin has a good achievement for the past two years but in overall it's not impressive unlike gold which has been very stable in the as of now, we can't compare using only the time when it's progressive.

If we talk about the stability between these two then no doubt gold is the winner because we know how old gold is and it has been just progressing with a stable nature until now, and on the other side, if we see bitcoin then it has the biggest factor that it grows really soon but it cannot maintain its price like gold, because when gold grows high then it does not come down to the same place again but bitcoin might does that.
Yes, gold is damn stable than bitcoin, but gold cannot give such income that bitcoin could give you in a short period of time, I think that all kinds of investment are risky and we have to take risk for making money. Instead of taking risk with slow and less potential type why not I go with better one in all aspects?

I also believe that gold is a safe investment and less risky. But income and gold will bring less than Bitcoin. In the long term, gold may be used

Gold is rare, BUT bitcoin is more rarer than gold.

How do you reach that conclusion? I don't consider Bitcoin as "rare". If you have a reliable supply of electricity and a good mining rig, then you can mine Bitcoins from your home as well. But for mining gold, you need to travel to far away places.
There are going to be only 21 million bitcoin unless they change the code and most accept it, while gold is rare in the planet, the universe is immense so there are lots and lots of gold in asteroids and other planets, and while that may sound like science fiction some estimates say we could begin space mining in 2 centuries.

I do not think they will change the code. If they increase the number of bitcoin by just 1, the price will crash.
I was not suggesting for the code to be changed in fact despite all the incredible features of bitcoin one of the best things is the cap at 21 million, Satoshi without a doubt thought this through.
but most likely bitcoin will become one of the investment and transaction tool that has the ability to invest more than gold. Well, the price of bitcoin is always increasing and likely to exceed the current gold price. bitcoin can also be used for long-term investment case of gold. so I think bitcoin will become something shiny than gold in the future

you are absolutely right. With such growth rates Bitcoin very soon it will be more expensive than gold. And not just for a few dollars, and in some times. That is why more profitable to invest in Bitcoin

Bitcoin will be the digital gold and this is going to be considered as better than gold by many people. Just look at the price of bitcoin it is now becoming higher and higher as the day goes by. And for sure as the 2017 is coming more beautiful things to come with bitcoin. Let's just don't expect that bad things will come and hopefully it will surpass golds market cap.
For current when we compared with gold maybe yes, but there are still many countries that make gold as an investment. What is bitcoin is the best a coin? For now yes, but many cryptocurrency analysts who still doubt the bitcoin is best. The current security problems and speed became an important issued. Thus an observer cryptocurrency more recommend another coin i.e. Monero or Etherium could replace the bitcoin.

Gold is old, it stores its value over time, it exists in one way or another to keep people's money worth something over time (most of the time) and it isn't supposed to be a volatile system that changes value rapidly.

Bitcoin, on the other hand, is essentially what gold isn't. Something volatile, makes value (and loses it) quickly, easily divisible, etc. Bitcoin is far from stable and likely won't be stable until it reaches massive values.

I don't know for sure what it was gold. But I certainly I consider that bitcoin is a digital form of gold and gold is the original form of the bitcoin. Because the bitcoin and gold has the advantage that the same only they use something or different media so that the prices given are also different. And do you never think, if bitcoin has only 21 million, then it's something extremely rare in the world. Because the total number of the inhabitants of this world more than 21 million

And recently btc went from $1200 to $200. When you're selectively including data points and ignoring the rest, you can make anything look better in a comparison. Gold isn't used to get rich, it's used as a hedge against inflation to protect wealth that's already been accumulated. Bitcoin is worthless in that regard based how volatile it is.
Although bitcoin investment is risky but the chance to get big profit is big too. I think bitcoin can be kind of short investment and gold is long term investment. Gold risk is smaller than bitcoin but we need atleast 2 until 3 years to get the significant profit.

You still wouldn't be able to mine more bitcoins than what the current mining reward is set to and more than 21M bitcoins in total. Strictly speaking, Bitcoin is more rare than gold. How come? The reason is quite simple, you can do basically nothing to mine more bitcoins than what is predetermined by the algorithm behind it. If you want to change the algo, you are welcome, but that won't be Bitcoin any more. On the other hand, you could develop a method of cheap gold extraction from sea water, which has an enormous amount of gold dissolved in it...

And that will be absolutely the same gold as it has been known throughout history

In fact, gold prices have never been stable. Recently, the price has been slowly but surely declining:

In the last half-year gold lost almost 15% of its value, from $1,366 in this July down to $1,183 per troy ounce today. Some are claiming that gold might eventually drop to 850-650 dollars, though I don't really believe it can fall significantly below the $1,000 mark due to powerful support from the gold bugs around that level...

In any case, to think of gold prices as something rock solid has more to do with wishful thinking than harsh reality

I would not regard a 2 month period a reasonable investment timeframe as you show in your chart above.  I also still believe the fundamentals for gold are very strong in the mid term when you consider world debt, increase in money supply and the turmoil across the globe that feeds gold price.

While I agree with you, don't forget to control for inflation. Gold price in nominal dollars (or whatever currency) over a long period of time neglects the impact of inflation. If nominal price is rising, it could be the underlying asset is appreciating in value, but it could also be that the comparison currency value is eroding due to inflation. A chart controlling for inflation would be more useful when looking at long term gold value trends.

I see that you love these sleeky charts from BullionVault

My chart was to show that gold prices are not as stable as many come to think. If we cut the crap and bravely face the facts, we will see that the price of gold, given its multimillennial history as a store of value and magic associated with it, is, in fact, no less volatile than Bitcoin. Especially if we further take into account how long gold has been around and how young Bitcoin is. We could, for example, equate 1 month of Bitcoin to, say, 50 years of gold, and we would get a very different picture

Rare for people who does not know bitcoin and they are the majority in the population but for us it's not since we are facing it everyday, this is our life as we are living in the crypto world, so it's not rare.

it is not just about the profit and what you see "now" but instead it is about what you could see a year ago. could you say with absolute confidence that bitcoin price will go from $200 to $700? of course not just the same way you can not say in a year from now price is going from $700 to $1200 that is why there are different investments like gold which you have to think about for more security and stability.
Bitcoin offers great reward, however it's risky as well. If one has invested this year, he could have doubled his money as this year was really great for our investment. I can say bitcoin is for the people who are willing to take risk while gold are those who want to play safe.
Bitcoin is a good for more investment not only for long term but also through daily profits.. it's more risky just like in trading.. but if you're good at it definitely you'll get more savings in the future. Gold is also good but only for long term investment and less risks.
