If given a choice to walk away with either Bitcoin or gold of equivalent value, what would you pick?

Asians and Westerners were asked in Taipei in Chinese and English if they would take Bitcoin or gold home with them that day, and the answer might surprise you...

We just shot a video outside the Taipei 101 skyscraper area here and gave people a chance to answer if they would walk away with either Bitcoin or gold- and why.

If you were approached and were offered the same deal, would you walk away with Bitcoin or gold in your pocket, and why???

I will choose gold because the price is stable for decades and many people already know about it long enough.

I would pick gold because many people already knew about it although bitcoin is also great but it is new and still unstable.

Probably choose bitcoin, because it is less pricey.

In low quantities its better investing with bitcoins. You can trade bitcoins and spend it without problems. With gold you will need investing with inversor banks or trade companies, and also there is a cost of storage and redeem cost. With bitcoins you have no cost of storage you store your bitcoins.

But I go in reverse. By considering the present situations I would invest in bitcoin more than investing in gold. In past bitcoin almost equaled to gold but now four times lesser. This is the point we need to buy bitcoin to get at least triple times profits in short period of time.

I would pick gold anytime.  Bitcoin is extremely volatile but with gold, sure it has its ups and lows, but it will always go up.

With the current rate and market movement, I like to hold 75% bitcoin and 25% gold because bitcoin price jump high at this moment. Personally, in any situation I will choose both. Gold is good enough for very long time investment, and bitcoin is good for short time investment.

This is my current strategy. I think btc has more upside in the short term. Gold is always a long term winner, so it's good to have some around!

i will pick gold if bitcoin price very low,and cant rise up again Cheesy

Then you never need to pick gold as bitcoin price will not fall from here, it deserves to move ahead on higher prices from these stages. My suggestions is pick both gold and bitcoin but in low amount or volume in case of gold. As bitcoin has more possibilities to raise in price in near future.

I pick Bitcoin for obvious reasons. I don't need to count them again here, it's written everywhere in this forum. The future is based on technology, so picking a tech item as economic instrument makes more sense.

Yes. In a smart world, we need to go for smarter things. Bitcoin is the smart money especially designed for internet purposes. So, the possibilities of value gaining is more than gold's value. Bitcoin will beat gold in value in coming days as bitcoin is more required than gold by all common peoples.

You don't have to pick one or the other. You can have both, gold has a  present value. And Bitcoin has a growing future.

It is more sensible advice. I also prefer to have both. Gold is good for long term investments and bitcoin is good for short term trading because its price is more volatile compared to gold. So I always buy bitcoins and sell after some profit and do same over and over. But gold I buy and keep it for almost for ever because I need it in future.
Totally agree with you.
It is hard to see gold price drops too much nowadays and for sure it will increases i' the future.
For bitcoin we never know what could be the price after 1 year so better to keep it for the short/medium term investment Smiley

First of, this is a great video and that's a shame it has only 1,5k views. The more videos like this one the more popular BTC will be.

As for me I'd pick Bitcoin because for BTC0.1446 I can buy 2 grams of gold in the next year, but for $37.88 I will able to buy same 1 gram of gold in a best-case scenario.

Obviously the clear answer is to hold both. However, if I had to decide between in holding solely one or the other, I think I would have to choose gold. I have the utmost faith in Bitcoin, but the thousands of years of stability shown by gold are invaluable, no matter who you are.

Picking and holding both bitcoin and gold is a common man thinking where a risk reward calculator will reduce his gold amount in value in compare to bitcoin value. This is because, the appreciation value of bitcoin is multiple times greater than gold. Gold may his another march in next 5 years where bitcoin with one year.
