It is still early to tell if the volatility of bitcoin has settled. Every day new investors come and try to invest their money in bitcoins. As long as trading is there, the volatility of it will not stop.

For now yes, recently there are big buying to gained thr free fork coin, and after that there was a huge selling and the price fall down, but flat line is only temporary, traders and investors will start to invest again and we will see another volatility, volatility is the part of bitcoin so it will never over
Its still early for this fluctuations to ends up, as traders and investors loves what they are seeing and taking advantage of this market movements,
many things can happen so we can't really assess whether its already done or just starting all over again.

Period of volatility for bitcoins will never vanished as bitcoin price is merely depending of trading volume there is in market bitcoin price is still risky and as it goes up the risk increase because even more people want to buy bitcoins for hodling time would come and there would be very little buyers already due to huge value.

I'm looking at Bitcoin charts for the past few days and it looks like a straight flat line. I'm not sure whether to feel happy or sad about this but could this possibly be related to the fact that we now have bitcoin futures? Does this mean bitcoin volatility will be less?
Bitcoin is now at 19k, since you are relatively new to the community one thing you need to understand is that we cannot claim that bitcoin has become stable after a few days also if you look at the amount of people currently in bitcoin and at the potential market that bitcoin has then it is very easy to see that bitcoin is not going to become stable in decades.

Bitcoin's price has only been stable at around the $16,000-$17,000 price mark for only like 4 days. Bitcoin's price has been stable for longer than that in the past. The volatility is definitely not over, and is FAR from over. Also, bitcoin futures will definitely make bitcoin a lot more volatile in my opinion. There's going to be bigger whales that could affect bitcoin's price.

You are definitely right, this is not the end, we are only getting started. If you see the past charts of Bitcoin's progresses it has steady price for how many years and didn't even bother moving an inch. Now we see how it rose up and and fall's down and rose again. Volatility is something that Bitcoin will never get rid off unless it would have a permanent value in a world wide agreement.

It would not be over and volatility will continue. This is normal specially that more people are now attracted investing in bitcoin since it will be listed tomorrow.

Bitcoin volatility will never be over.Only it could get reduced to some extent in future.
I think so too because bitcoin has lots of traders making money from this the period of volatility just might be far from being over unless people start to hodl longer this should normalize.

Quote
There would be always a variation in the demand for bitcoins which would make its price volatile. The entry of institutional firms may lessen the volatile.Bitcoin futures price will not directly affect bitcoin price.
i dont think variations from demand lead to this but having institutional firms/investors should fix this problem.

So far it's still quite volatile, with more than 1k$ increase in a few hours, I don't call it a stabilisation.

It's not over and it won't ever last. Bitcoin's feature is being volatile in the market, either in downwards or in upwards. This speciality won't end in bitcoin. It will maintain the same.

I think current volatility will not last forever and fluctuations in bitcoin price will be less. It will happen when all the people know it and any business accept it.

It's not over, it's just a quiet period, it's now up over $1k today so that shows that to be the case. Bitcoin was just taking a break while altcoins had their run but it had been threating another bull run soon and I think we just started it. 25k coming up.

Are you out of your mind?
Do you really think this is a stable price?
It had been moving for hundreds of dollars and that is stable for you?

Do you know how much it is worth for other countries?
Dont be selfish just thinking about yourself and think about others too.
This fluctuations are a large number for them.

it will happen if everyone just holds their bitcoin, and the amount of bitcoin has reached its limit so there is no buying and selling transaction. But the reality is not everyone can survive to seep up his profit. Of the total bitcoin, maybe less than half that hold on hold, while the rest is always in trade. Therefore, Volatility will continue to occur.

Looks like volility is back with a bang. The price is $18,699 - about $2000 higher than it was yesterday.

Who knows where this is going to end. Bitstamp reported it is signing up 100,000 new users a day, and Coinbase and the others are doing the same. All those new users are buying. There are some old hands selling, but they're not enough to push down the price.

How can we say it is over. Nope it is not end of volatile. It's volatility was pump and dump in slowly by the past few days. So don't be bother about.we cannot predict this is start or ending stage. It cannot be stable..In next day it may getting high value than present price.

Volatility happens when there is a tug-of-war pressure on both the buyer and seller side. It will never be over in short.
