The reasoning behind this is mainly because of precious metals also being sought after due to the Trump policies not looking favorable in the short term... Not too sure about long as I don't have interest in politics.

Bitcoin rushes over $950

Current prices show an increase of almost 4% in Bitcoin price in the last 24 hours of trading. With a high of $959.37, this is the highest price in the last 3 and a half weeks. At the time of writing this post the price was $956.78.

This increase is probably due to China’s biggest Bitcoin trading platforms putting a stop to trading BTC without any fees.

We just hit $962, looks like we are hours away from $1000 again, once we hit $1000 the doubts will be broken and it will take no time to hit a new ATH, so I can't wait. We may see a bit of wrestling in the $980 area, but this is bitcoin after all, we can be at $1000 within minutes.

Price of Bitcoin was just to steady last few weeks. What is 4% nothing. 10% Bitcoin price swings are something. We will have such up and down in upcoming days. Day traders and exchanges will be so happy. Smiley

I'll take 4% rises for a few days in a row!
granted it might well drop 10% tomorrow, but any rises are welcome to me.

I don't think we will see $1000 today or even this week. If you do see it again soon, I hope we enjoy a little more time in 4 figures that the last 2 times!

That would the exact reason for the gain in price so rapidly.
This news brings with it a sense of relief around the world in knowing what is actually happening.
With all the stuff in the last month about miner fees rising 15-20% should be put to rest with this happening to the exchanges charging the fees instead of having the senders of the bitcoins front the bill.
