I am excited, not for Bitcoin Silver but for another Bitcoin price pump soon in the future. There is nothing much interesting in these new alts like Bitcoin Gold and Bitcoin Silver which can compel us to buy them everything is as like before, BTW the best thing is we are going to get some extra money through these forks and alts.

I'm not too worried about what will happen in December, I already believe in Bitcoin and do not want to panic selling all my Bitcoin, if that's going to happen I'll just enjoy the free coins Grin

Segwit2x cancelled, BCH have given so many issues in BTC transactions though still free dollars so not a problem, Now comes Bitcoin silver!!

What we will expect for this new fork? Do we hope for a litecoin version of BTC? Will this have a chance to skyrocket? given the specs:

BTSI Comparison
Supply: 21 Million
PoW algorithm: Equihash
Mining Hardware: GPU
Block Interval: 30 sec
Block size (actual): 1M (2-4M)
Difficulty adjustment: Every block
Segwit: Yes
Replay protection: Yes
Unique address format: Yes

I think this fork will result in bitcoin price bump, most people will invest on bitcoin to receive this free coin so the demand for the bitcoin will increase which results in price increase of bitcoin.
But bitcoin silver will also be same as the bitcoin gold initially makes price bump then the price might fall.So investing on this coin is not advisable because many people invested on bitcoin gold now suffering due to its price drop.So take a look on this coin after launched then decide to invest or not after some months.

I'm still wondering! that hardfork is the most effective promotional tool to raise Bitcoin. I do not know exactly who these people are behind the hardfork, but it makes positive news and profitable.

So if we have our coins in Blockchain.info, we will be getting this new coin as airdrop? The last time I got BCH as free airdrop around 2 months after the fork.

Nothing new and worth mentioning, just another altcoin who use BTC name, otherwise would go unnoticed.Only "good" thing is that users get some free coins with every new hard fork, but I wonder is it worth the confusion that creates among users.Personally I would not have anything against it in case they are not using "Bitcoin" for every new coin name.Regarding bitcoin silver,I not see any web site, wallet or some date of hard fork,a serious project?Of course not, I think some kid plays a little Wink
While i might tend to agree with you on your view there has to be a limit. The fact that this is just " another bitcoin wanna be " like you said does not make it any less confusing to " mainstream society ". Remember most of the top bankers are old fat cats set in their ways. They will surely use news like this to cry bubble or tulip mania.

But there is litecoin a version of bitcoin that I have viewed as silver all this time since it's inception.

Bitcoin is equal to gold

Litecoin is equal thus viewed as silver.

This is how viewed these cryptocurrencies.

Anyone knows the difference between Bitcoin Gold vs Silver. For instance, do both have replay protection, similiar blocksize? In that case you really wonder what's the point of another fork that will only tank after a few days like Gold or Cash...

Moreover, the drama will be made, after Bitcoin Cash, gold and silver now, trying to make free coins into Bitcoin competitors and why in the future always use the name Bitcoin.
and why not wear the name of a silver or gold coin,
Let Bitcoin be yourself if you want to compete using another name does not have a Bitcoin name..
But to be realistic, people who holds bitcoin always expect this, they can make free money from all these forked coins airdrop by just holding bitcoin, even the hype of segwit2x
make the bitcoin price pumped, they already know these coins can't compete with the real bitcoin but still it's free money isn't it?

I don't like these frequent forks. They are too frequent that it is really difficult to predict market movements since usually BTC price will go up when a fork is nearby and eventually causing all alts to bleed  Angry

Shouldn't this be posted on the Altcoins section?

But it is about bitcoin being forked so it is still about bitcoin. There will be another altcoin forked out of bitcoin this upcoming month, and I think there will be another thread of bitcoin being dead and other altcoin forked out of bitcoin will be reigning over.

So many forks for the last several months. I'm wondering why it happens. Bitcoin transactions became so slow lately. Who does benefit from making forks?

I guess they are not happy with BITCOIN, so they wanted to upgrade it a little bit of it aspects like transactions speed.
Who benefit? Those whales benefits isnt it? Also us traders coz its free coin. We need to go with flow of water otherwise your not going to rich fast. lolz
These seems to be a strategy too or perhaps we are still in low level of cryptoworld (If you know what i meant.)

I am very upset that bitcoin will become useless soon. All these forka badly influence him. I don't understand, it is really difficult to buy bitcoin and to wait?

Bitcoin won't become useless because of some meaningless hardforks. I would agree with you if we had more hardforks like Bitcoin Cash or SegWit2x which were supported by many people. Bitcoin is still going strong, we even managed to cancel the SegWit2x hardfork. What is the point of Bitcoin Silver? Bitcoin Gold already allows GPU mining.

2018 is going to be the year of the forks.
I expect this to accelerate and start happening on other coins too.

Is this for real? People were joking about bitcoin silver and Bitcoin bronze after the BTG fork, bit are we seriously getting a bitcoin silver. So many forks just destroys the main aim of the forks, it just creates a new altcoin with 'bitcoin' in its name. And IMO I don't think this is serious, even BTG was not serious enough, and 2x was canceled, don't think this fork will even happen.

maybe this one is the real and verry serious among the past forks and this time its not a joke because bitcoin silver is going to be a big threat to to other coins especially bitcoins. so if i were you, id better prepare for this one happen , i dont mean prepare to buy and hold bitcoins to get the equivalent free forked coins but rather prepare for what it can do to you and to the market.
