How can I go and put this dude in the slammer!?
I wish I knew how to hack these fools.

have you tried doxing him?

some people charge a small fee, and look up all personal info about this persona and more details to use that for possible law suit etc.

I have not. But, I shall look into it! Thank you kindly.

Hi all, after having 120 Stellar stolen from my account (I wasn't too pissed) But now after finding my blockchain wallet had just been stolen of 0.8BTC, I know its not allot, but its allot for me mining after 4 days.

I don't know what to do, but I have a feeling in me that want's me to get that douch back.
His address is:

have you find the scammer ?

i think if anyone gets scammed, you cant really find the person unless you dox them really good.

but after the coins are gone, its just gone. not much we can or anyone do about it besides just preventing the even happening again in the future.

im sure you can recover from .8 bitcoin.

not that i sympathize for you, but theres people who got scammed for much more. And just consider this as a expensive lesson to learn.

Sorry about what happened to you Sad.  After hearing about these problems with blockchain.......would it be safer to move >5 bitcoins to the localbitcoins wallet.  I haven't heard many problems there. Could that actually be safer?
No moving it to localbitcoin online wallet would not be safer at all, it's worse.
Not only have these been hacked in the past your handing over the security of your coins to them.
Now im not familar with localbitcoins wallet but i know it would never be as safe as ofline storage with 0.05 btc in hot wallet for daily use.
It really depends on how well someone is able to secure their computer (and keep their private keys safe).

I think the future of bitcoin will likely involve many/most people storing their bitcoin on third party services as many people are not capable of protecting their private keys in ways that companies like LBC and coinbase can

The best solution for storing btc would be a wallet on your PC,my suggestion is to use electrum or multibit wallet. Smiley

why people can't leave bitcoin on cold storage, it's so difficult? it make your btc not hackable or everything related to that shit

If you don't have a lot of bitcoins in your wallet, then moving it to cold storage would be useless, as to spend you will have to bring it back.
But with any amount >5BTC it is always adviced to move the funds to cold storage.

thats just a good habit as well.

i mean in general, its something that most should practice. I myself, started doing this, even if its .1 btc so i can put my mind at ease. Its just unfortunate for most who get introduced to bitcoin, that online wallets are convenient so they think its all good.

Unfortunately it's beginning to look like this might be a security design flaw on the blockchain.info side of things.  At least according to this recent CoinDesk article.

http://www.coindesk.com/hacker-returns-225-btc-taken-blockchain-wallets/

That was really kind of him to return the funds .It also saves the people from other hackers.

If you used TOR to access your blockchain wallet, then that's how it most likely happened. Blockchain has responded by creating their own onion domain: https://blockchainbdgpzk.onion

The service provider will most probably be able to help you, to identify the thief.

It depends if they using DHCP or static IP address allocation, but in both cases, you should still be able to link it.

Question is, will the ISP give you the information? It's a paying customer after all.  Angry

Did you ever use Blockchain over Tor? There were some exit nodes that were stealing wallet logins awhile ago.
