Oh, and, you can't currently reply to threads or anything; just read them. But I'm working on that!

OP, is this issue sorted out now? Can we reply now on the app.
I have a iPhone 3gs, please let me know if there is any other free app that serves this purpose if yours doesn't.

I would find it useful only if it supported login and watchlist, correctly marking threads as read, just like the forum does.

Really nice solution. I just noticed it doesn't go to child forums further then one level deep. For example, in the Mining category there is a subboard called hardware, and in there is a subsubboard called custom hardware. I can't navigate to that!

Seems pretty nice but the full site is pretty much enough for me unless you manage to make your version as powerful but much much simplier to use than the full one then I might switch.

I would never switch, but it's handy if you can't get to you're computer for any reasons. Plus my internet browser on my phone is normally messed.

Well, I mostly use these forums while on my phone and it's pretty easy to navigate and post.

I'll use this, but it's going to annoy the hell out of me...seeing something which I would like to reply to and can't. As soon as you do that, it would be awesome.

Nice! Also, 'Login' is not spelled 'Logik'  Smiley

Also, are you still working on this?

Great work. Makes Bitcointalk a lot better readable on a mobile.

If Login would somehow be possible, so I have my watchlist, would be awesome.

Also local Boards seem somehow off. When I try to access the German section for example I always get to politics & Society.

Thanks for letting me know about that - it was indeed wrong. It should be better now.

I'm curious about your comment about your watchlist. Personally I seldom use that feature - it sounds like you use it a lot?

Yes, it's working now. Thanks for fixing this.

Yes I use the Watchlist a lot, whenever I see a Topic that interests me, but I don't have something to contribute/say, I add it to my Watchlist, so I see it there when something new has been posted. Also have "add threads I posted in automatically to my Watchlist" enabled lets me follow threads I posted in a lot better than "new replies to your posts", as I can simply remove topics that don't interest me anymore from my Watchlist.

https://github.com/L0g1k/BitcoinTalkScraper

It's an Eclipse project, you should be able to checkout & import and run the tests, but I haven't actually tried that out myself, yet.

Let me know if you have any problems setting up and I'd be happy to help (I'm on Australian time FYI)

Interesting! How did you do that? Scraping and re-formatting?

Basically, yeah. One program scrapes the data and publishes it in a standard format (aka. json api) and then the actual mobile web app uses Ajax to talk to the json api to display the data.

Oh, PLEASE give me a copy of that scraper program!! Cheesy
Is this open source? You should make it open source.

A well done mobile version is a lot nicer to use really frequently. If you only use something occasionally you might not really notice.

Have you opened the 'Wall Observer' thread on a phone before? The entire phone screen is taken up by the pagination links Cheesy That's just one example..

A poorly done mobile site is worse than a desktop version though. They are very hard to get right - they should be simple but powerful. Mine isn't quite there yet; it still needs more work. I like Slashdot's mobile interface a lot. I hope to make Bitcoin Talk Mobile just as powerful but easy to use on a phone.

Very neat! Through, I still don't understand why people like mobile versions through. I prefer full versions of site over condensed mobile versions having tons of whitespace (for a small screen) and lack of functionality (which I understand is because you're scrapping the content)
