he is wrong, bitcoin will make you rich, maybe not quick but on the order of 10 years if you load up at today's price you WILL be rich eventually.
and the reason for that has less to do with bitcoin and more to do with the fact that the fiat ponzi scheme is near its end, gold is not practical in today's world, there is no viable alternative but bitcoin.

I know who Gavin Andresen is, but this is just some guy who worked on a Bitcoin Foundation committee. He's not even a dev and fell out wit the people he worked with. Why should we give a shit what he says?

That's bot how markets behave. Just look at the historical chart in logarithmic scale and you'll see that the same pattern occurs everytime: spike followed by a correction. The same is going to happen again, it's just taking it's time. Patience will pay in the end and this is a great opportunity to buy at discounted prices looking forward.
