I'm really curious about this because I feel that Bitcoin tipping really hasn't taken off... or will not take off like Dogecoin tipping did.  With Bitcoin being the most popular cryptocurrency, people would naturally want to tipped in BTC.  But the way things are, BTC is being hoarded and kept.

So yeah...  Just curious what the majority thinks about the tipping concept in BTC as opposed to Dogecoin tipping.

changetip has probably made 3 times the amount of people tip BTC then before, i think tipping in BTC tipping will see more development in next year with services like protip etc.

I mostly tip with Bitcoin on "Reddit" and "Youtube"... and I see tons of other people doing it too...

In a way, I can see the point you are trying to make.. and I kind of agree with the other posters... Dodgecoin has a lower price and has been seen as Monopoly money... People play with that and use BTC as a store of value. {They are all waiting for the price to increase again, for them to double or triple their original investment... and this is the reason why they are hoarding it} Wink

I agree, i also dont think bitcoin tipping has taken off yet either... I think if tipping was easier/more simple people would be tipping more. I think the changetip tip bot is a big step in the right direction though!

Doge tipping? Sure why not? It's practically worthless monetarily, so I have no problem parting with it.

Exactly what I was thinking.  Bitcoin has become so valuable (at least in our eyes) that parting with it seems hard.  On the other hand, tipping with Doge is so easy.  You would even feel better for yourself for doing it.

I think I have my answer the moment the first hour of this thread passed.  Majority is a "no", I assume.  But i wish we could actually see that in the poll though.

The easier it is to tip, the more likely it would happen. Specific sites have chats that allow you to easily send bitcoin to other users. When someone makes me laugh, I send them some bits. I occasionally send a few for other reasons.

However, if you were to use the amount of tips received as some metric for whether or not that person is deserving of such tips, that's where things fall apart. Bitcoin tipping is so transient and easy that it does little to measure any kind of reputation. Now if you were to limit the power to tip or the amount one could tip, tipping would mean more.

Doge tipping? Sure why not? It's practically worthless monetarily, so I have no problem parting with it.
