Why are you people saying that bitcoin is dead and over? You do realize that Mt Gox is just a criminally incompetent bunch of fucktards attempting to hide their fraud, right? Bitcoin isn't dead, so stop with the FUD already.

can't wait till the price is below $200, so I can buy a ton of them. But I'll bet it won't get that low. There are probably a lot of buy orders set in the $400 range.

I myself hold a small amount of bitcoins. I heard the price will be dropping to below 100$ by end of February because of the huge MtGox scam. So is it better to sell the bitcoins and take the money to another alt coin? Or is it better to hold on to the bitcoins?
If you dont want to take the risk you should sell your coins.
And if BTC crashes, the alt-coins will crash even more.

Here is my speculation: crash below 450 will trigger further crash to 250$ in best case, and 100$ or further in worst case

A bunch of us got together last night, conferenced in Janet and Ben (Yellen and Bernanke) and decided that the price "will be dropping to below 100$ by end of February". Damn Ben, we told him not to tell yet, that must be where you "heard" it.

Seriously, if you don't want the risk, you should sell.

The price of bitcoin will take 1-2 years to go back to what it was if it goes back. That's just my opinion tho

I'm not sure.
Sentiment changes very quickly. In 6 months everyone will be screaming BUY BUY BUY

1-2 Bitcoin years is two weeks on the regular calendar.

I've said it before but Bitcoin time is like dog years. People were complaing that not much has been happening in the Bitcoin world, now I bet they wished that was still true.

It would be great if we knew the future, at least sometimes, but we don't so we can't know for sure. We can only predict. If your predictions are telling you that it will go under 100$ then sell.

I think bitcoin has shown remarkable resilience in the face of China stomping on BTC China, Apple removing all bitcoin related apps and banks cracking down on customers using bitcoin. I can see it recovering back to mid-800s again. My 2 cents obviously.

Well the price probably isn't going under $100 right now, but seems like the Mt Gox case can have a good effect on the btc price in the long run. A lot of people (investors) have been waiting for the price to drop, so it's a good time to start buying again.

With positive news about new merchants accepting bitcoin, the price is sure to rise with new investors coming into the game with every positive article published all around the web and media.
