Those who do not have an idea about bitcoin but bought just because of the price can be easily affected by hyped news. But it is the opposite for those who know bitcoin and believe in its fundamentals. They will hold and even buy more if the price falls.

am i the only one noticing this pattern?

when bitcoin price was rising in other words during the rally which lasted long enough, all the news was about praising bitcoin. bitcoin was even the headline and on the first page of major financial news papers! there was talking of how great bitcoin is and how it will go to large prices that we never even dreamed of!!!

and when the tide turns and the inevitable drop occurs the news turns with it! i actually find it very interesting how many negative news i am seeing these days. news of people calling bitcoin "fraud", calling it bubble, dying even, people who are now saying bitcoin will never be adopted (as if they never heard of Japan for example). and lots more.

I notice this as well. IMO, this is all fuds.

I think most verterans in the space are well aware of this and pay no mind. The majority of those selling now are because they have to convert to fiat immediately, but these are likely people who regularly convert all their BTC to fiat, some may be Chinese flight out of the system and the rest are noobs who can't stomach the volatility. This kind of reshuffle only ends with stronger hands controlling more coin

It's usually the newbies who start panicking when the price drops, at least in this forum and on Reddit.

People who have been around for a while aren't usually the ones complaining when there's another streak of bad news followed by lower value.
We've all seen it before, prices will recover eventually. We're also used to Bitcoin being called a scam or ponzi, just ignore it.

Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
It's almost pathetic how people who are bullish and talk about misinformation actually also spread misinformation.
people who are now saying bitcoin will never be adopted (as if they never heard of Japan for example). and lots more.
A whole country has not just adopted Bitcoin at once!  The vast majority of Japanese transactions are in physical cash, and most of the digital ones are in digital fiat.  You still have to go pretty far out of your way to try and spend Bitcoin.

It's ridiculously annoying to see that when people take a side, they just have to invent "facts" to support their view after they've formed it.

I'll be holding and ignoring all of this nonsense from a trading perspective but I'll still be getting annoyed behind my screen.

There are lots of reactionary noobs around who get too excited or too suicidal regarding proce swings. People need to have much stronger hands & be much more intelligent reacting to changes in the price.

Some of the recent panic selling on China news is embarrassing.

It's quite possible that many journalists are bribed by market speculators and manipulators, so they pump with positive articles and make FUD when their masters want to dump Bitcoin. Bitcoin markets are extremely wild and unregulated and some people would do anything to get an edge in trading to get more profit. This only reassures that hodling is the better strategy for most people, because you can't compete with manipulators. This also makes all price analysis and predictions pretty useless, you can't know exactly when they will start making their move. But in the long run it doesn't matter - Bitcoin is revolutionary tech and its still early days.

HODLing is an art, not just a word...
I think theres a bigger people behind here. People that manipulates the market in theer hands. I smell some politics in here. How can we sure if the news is true? All of these speculations and fluctuation becomes more and more untrusted and cant control. Hope all the sources of news will have a proof. Journalism is that they call it?  Cry

the "news" is what i call "exaggerated" news. of course that is ignoring all the obvious FUD that has been accompanying this.

and it is actually very similar to start of this year when China started their investigation. when they first issued their warning to exchanges and closed down the big 3 Chinese exchanges for a couple of months. by that time the same pattern was repeated too.
