I detest Linux and don't care what anyone else thinks. I've downloaded multiple versions and loathed every single one of them.

When it comes to crypto use a hardware or paper wallet. For crypto related computer needs I use a Windows machine that'll never see the internet again.

Whats the issue? lack of GUI or have you tried UBUNTU also and dislike it as well?

Just genuinely curious I haven't used linux much

Linux isn't for everyone just like bitcoin isn't for everyone, it's hard to do open source specially if you first started using proprietary systems.

When people get used with linux, windows is the difficult system to work with, it's slow, it requires third party software to protect against malware, easy to exploit, requires a lot of steps to install new software, well, it sucks. Cheesy

Really depends on how much Bitcoins you have.
If you have a lot, you should be really careful, and use super secure system.

However, if you have just a few dollars in Bitcoin, then it really does not matter how you store & use them.

Don't get me wrong in what I'm gonna say as your suggestion is good enough in your own terms but the problem with what you stated above is that most of the people that uses computer don't know how to navigate/use Linux. It would just add to the learning process of ordinary people when getting familiar with BTC. My suggestion is to use hardware wallet if you want to have the security that will protect your coins. It is an added expense but it is worth it to invest in such wallets for peace of mind.

I recommend that all new users to bitcoin or people who just want to keep their coins safe us linux and not windows.Unless you use windows on a fresh formated computer and then never install anything else onto that computer, Linux does not have all the spyware that window computers have especially windows 10 which has over 100 forms of spyware on it from the factory, as the satnists build their police state to prepare their New World Order they are only trying to enslave and spy on us all.You could be hacked easy if you use windows to store your coins because viruses that do the spying to steal your password are written for windows computers.
