I find it funny with OP's thinking, I can't understand why BTC and EOS can be compared.
Perhaps before you ask a question, you should also think about what you want with that question because in the first place the problem you posed, even you yourself did not understand it.

EOS is only for the whales who can stake thousands of EOS and then earn daily with more than 100 EOS every day. How do you expect it to grow when those whales can all the time dump every day as well. If you are one of these stakers, you will like that kind of scam. Probably their favorite too since they can make transactions without a fee all because they stake for CPU, RAM and NET. But if you hold it expecting the price to go moon, its best to just hold BTC.

Here's a good site incase you wanna sell all your EOS, try this one eospowerup.io you don't have to leave any EOS in your wallet.

I know this forum is mostly about BTC but I do think we should have a discussion on the similarities & differences between BTC/EOS ....

First off EOS is NOT mineable... (mining is the current topic these days)

As we all know BTC has less than 21 million tokens...(deaths, lost passwords etc) ...GOod thing for its value but the decimal places though... EOS has 1 billion tokens... Roll Eyes

any thoughts?

Comparing bitcoin to eos is bullshit in my opinion. EOS created a nice fomo when it first came out, and then they released a wallet. But the wallet they issued is so useless that it was officially designed so that those who invested in me would give up. I have been in the crypto money world for years, but even after years, I would not invest 1 cent unless they change their wallets. I pass Bitcoin alone according to eos.

If we do consider on how many altcoins in the market then its no deniable that there are indeed good coins in the market when it comes to technicalities and other aspects then it is much better on Bitcoin itself in some key aspects but still demand was still stick to Bitcoin which is evident as we can see on overall market rankings and also i cant really deny that EOS is some of the most undervalued coins in the market where there are features which we cant really see on some projects currently in the market but well everything would always matter with the demand, no matter how good it is but if the
demand isnt there then you cant really see much off difference.

1. EOS is a dApp platform while Bitcoin only act as a payment tools.
2. Bitcoin have bigger community than EOS.
3. EOS can grow bigger when the ecosystem grows, Bitcoin maybe have same opportunity with its 2nd layer.
4. EOS now have an EdenOS to have an Decentralized Governance system, Bitcoin didnt.
5. Both have opportunity to be adapted in financial system, EOS have take opportunity on Venezuela which have a hyperinflation, Bitcoin still hard to be since its slower and more expensive.

What thought you're looking at? it seems that you fully understand the huge difference between bitcoin and EOS. Not just in terms of supply and its algorithms but also in its value. Are you torn between choosing which of them that you should invest in? if that's the case why you're asking the thoughts of everyone. There's no need to have that much discussion about why most people will prefer to invest in bitcoin and the market just got into correction so that's another factor for you to consider if you're thinking of buying. Well, you must do it now before it rises again.

Bitcoin's decimals can be changed any time the community thinks it'd be a good idea to do so. It's not forever set to be 8 numbers after the decimal nor is the supply forever and immutably set at 21M coins.

Mining is a long debunked subject. Not even worth another debate. One thing is certain: there is no crypto that has been through the adoption levels BTC reached, and so before this happens, nobody can prove there's a better alternative really. Either we do the comparison at equal usage rates or it's without a sense..

What is there to compare anyway? I mean you will only compare two things if they are somewhat similar and different at the same time. You cannot compare for example a cheetah and a hare for being two fast animals. In the same way that you cannot really compare Bitcoin with EOS. You may compare EOS with other lowly altcoins but not Bitcoin. They are not worth comparing. What now if Bitcoin has only 21 million in total supply and EOS has 1 billion?

Why do you think that? BTC and EOS are completely different crypto projects that don't have too many similarities. Why not compare Ethereum vs EOS if you already need to compare something?
I don't really have anything critical to say about bitcoin, other than one thing. I think there is one thing that bitcoin has a hard time competing on, and that's scalability.

Number of tokens really matters? There are some projects with more number of supply than 1 billion so you will say that they are better than bitcoin?

The total quantity is not a big problem since the bitcoin itself can be divided into further and the minimum unit of bitcoin is satoshi.

If you count satoshis, you can have eight decimal places in Bitcoin, where in EOS only four decimal places. Therefore, in theory, Bitcoin can have more activities if let's say something can be priced with 1 bits or even 1 sats.

I had a high hope on EOS, but it was congested because of some airdrop, thus I ditched the coin. Going through setting up an account, staking RAM & PROC, was a painful experience. Account based system is inferior to the old, address based system IMO.

What thoughts do you want to hear?

It's no longer 2017, I have to admit that in EOS there is a lot of hype surrounding EOS, unfortunately, it didn't live on it's hype and it has been surpassed by a lot of new coins in the market. But it hasn't died down, still hanging maybe for some investors who still believed that EOS can really challenge something in the ecosystem. So I don't think we need to further discuss or even compare it to BTC.

Any thoughts on what? EOS was mostly a cashgrab as for the 4 years it's existed, with all the funding in the world they received through their year-long ICO, they barely created anything that got any traction at all. And for some reason it's in the #27 spot. There are far more better projects out there that at least does something compared to EOS. And don't even get me started on Cardano.
